Try Yahoo support, as it doesn't sound like a Firefox issue - there is no Firefox available for the iPhone and iPad.

I am currently having the same problem with music that is downloaded to my laptop and stored into itunes/itunes match which is not downloading to my ipad. I had this same problem a few months a go and it was fixed with a update to my ipad but it has happened again with most recent update. Judging by all the posts on the forum, there seems to be an issue at Apple's end, although they have made no announcement on their status page. Unfortunately, we may have to wait until Apple is more forthcoming with information.

Try quitting Newsstand completely - double tap home button, delete it from the multitasking shelf - then launch it again.

Considering only a small number of users out of the millions of iPhones sold have the issue, I would say Apple does a pretty darn good job at quality control.

Lightroom encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit. Says Lightromm will attempt to fix the problem the next time it launches, but on every re-launch I get the same message. Any clue as to how to fix this problem?

I recently updated my HP laptop's OS from WIndows8 to WIndows8.1. When I went attempted to open Lightroom5 I got the following message:
"Lightroom encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit. "
"Lightroom will attempt to fix the problem the next time it launches"
Every time I relaunch I get the same message. I'd like to understand what might be causing the problem so I can remedy and get back to my photo editing. Any clue as to how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Do you remeber the exact (or close to it) wording of the error message?
Try manually placing the iPod in Recovery mode and then try to restore
Next try DFU mode.

You can also try another computer to help determine if you have an iPod or computer problem.

I just purchased the IPad 2 and now when I purchase apps from the App store it says waiting and then dissapears. I have checked for updates and all apps are undated as well as my ios 5. I have turned off the power and reset the system and still nothing.

You mean take the cover off of the iPhone, to look inside? I'd recommend against it. Even with warranty expired, you might qualify for an out-of-warranty service, which for 3GS is $149.
Other than that, any repair/service options are going to cost money. You might want to see if a wireless carrier will let you get a new contract & phone.
Out of curiousity, you're just using at as, basically, an iPod Touch, if there's no cell provider? Did I understand that correctly?
