My iPhoto Library file is missing

I recently got a new MacBook Pro and have previously been using my iMac. I want to move the iPhoto Library from the iMac to my MBP, but the iPhoto Library is not there. The pictures are in iPhoto but the file they are supposed to be housed in is not. I have checked my Pictures folder and the only thing related to the search term "iPhoto Library" is iPhoto Library Recovered Photos_1-10, and Library.iPhoto or Library6.iPhoto. When I open Library.iPhoto it says i need to upgrade the library which shouldn't be the case since the pictures in iPhoto.app are viewed perfectly.

That could happen if your iPhoto Library is corrupt in some way. 
There are a few things we can do to try to fix your library.
Note - Apple does recommend you create a back up of your iPhoto Library, as a precautionary measure, before troubleshooting the iPhoto Library. 
Do you have a back up?? If so, do the following:
- quit iPhoto
- hold down your "option + command" keys on the keyboard, and keep them held down while launching iPhoto.  This should launch iPhoto with a "first aid" screen over top of it.   Do each of these first aid steps, one at a time, until you have completed all the steps. 
If after you have done all of the rebuild steps, yet you are still having the issue, then your iPhoto Library is damaged beyond what iPhoto can repair.  At that point, we can do the following:
          1.  If we use Time Machine, we can restore from a Time Machine Backup
          2.  If we don't use Time Machine, we can try a 3rd party software (iPhoto Library Manager), to see if it can fix the library
          3.  We can do what is referred to as a "manual rebuild" of the iPhoto Library, however it will only get the original images you imported into iPhoto back.  It will not bring back any albums, slideshows, books / cards / calendars etc. you created in iPhoto.
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
           2. Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder
           3. Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to File ➙ Rebuild Library         
           4. In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
           5. Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
