If you open the Maps app where does that say you are located?
For location the iPod uses the location of nearby routers that are in Apple's database of routers and their location. Thus it appears that Apple's database is incorrect. You do not have to be connected to the router, just within range.
Apple periodically updates their database based on information they obtain from iPhones, The iPhone has to have turned on the option to send info to Apple. no one has found another way to get the location of a router added/corrected.
You can confirm that by going to well-know place with wifi like Starbucks or McDonalds

I have been gifted a used iPod 5th Gen, and at first everything worked fine, it charges, when connected to my computer, the first sync was also fine. Now I have added some new songs to my iTunes and want to put them also on the iPod.
Here comes the problem:
when I connect it to the computer, it starts charging, it also says, it is synchronizing, but only for a few seconds.. The new songs are not on the iPod.
Tried to set it back, but the problem is still there..
What can I do?

I understand that you have an iPod nano that you would like to add more music to from your computer, but the syncing finishes without moving the music to your iPod. Ever since yesterday, my Ipod apps won't open properly. I googled it, and couldn't find anything accurate. So i deleted all of the apps, and re-downloaded them. Now they're doing it again. When i tap on it, it looks like it wants to open, but then it goes back to the main menu. I googled it again, and got an answer saying to go to Itunes, uncheck the "sync apps" box, and sync. Then after that, recheck the box, and sync again. Many people said this worked, but it didn't for me. Also whenI go to sync my apps, they don't show up in Itunes. How do I get them to show up in Itunes?

I had the same issue. After searching around online I found out that you can try downloading another app (it can be any app) onto your ipod. After it finishes downloading see if your other apps open. You don't even have to keep the new app. Just see if your other ones work and you can delete the new one. That should work. If not, try to hard reset it. That sounds like a problem with your internet connection
Try disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall.
- Next try the manual install method of:

- Then try on another computer

I have Windows XPand Firefox 3.6.23. I have tried to update Firefox several times. My install site indicates that it has been successful, but when I try to open Firefox I get a statement that I need to update. Help!

I really do not know what details you want. When I press on the icon to open Firefox, it opens and Google appears. I go to my bookmarks to my purchasing file. There I click on my bookmarked "Quality Paperbacks" site. I get a big colorful page with a statement that I need to update Firefox. I have followed the directions to update on several different occasions. It appears to download but the next time I try, I get the same thing.

You are on the 3.6 release and Firefox 7.0.1 is out. You can download and install the latest release from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/ if you would like to update now. The 3.6 version will be maintained for a while longer, but you should update when you can.

Connect the iOS device to your computer and try to make a backup. Yo shld be able to make a backup if you previously syncing to this computer.

Then restore via iTunes. The iOS device will be erased. Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

Hi, My employer has a web site & as a part of the service to the employees, the employees can access personal details through the web site. I can access my employers web site not a problem, BUT - when i try to access the employees part of the web site it tells me "This browser is not supported.

When I set a location-based Reminder on my iPhone 5S, a window pops up on my Mavericks-iMac asking permission, "'Reminders.app' would like to use your current location," along with radio buttons offering OK or Don't Allow. I have scoured settings on my phone and on my Mavericks iMac--I should not be getting this message.

Because you can only synce with one iTunes library and you are switching libries by using the new computer. To nake this yyour syncing computer:
- Move all the media(apps, music, synced video and photos etc) to the new computer.
- Connect the iPofd yo the computer and bake a backup fo the iPod by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup.
Note that the backup that iTunes makes doe not include media.

You can also wipe the iOS device by installing the FindMyiPhone app on another iOS device and using that app to wipe the device.
Otherwise you need a computer with iTunes and an internet connection

Some other apps say iOS 4+ but don't list the iPod Touch 2nd gen in the description, so I'm guessing they just don't work no matter the OS. However, the apps listed above say OS 3+ and just say ipod touch, so I think they should work. I'm running iTunes 10.3 but not the most recent release, and am updating as I type just in case that's the problem. Thanks for any help or advice!

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
