My ipod Nano 7th gen is not syncing with iTunes

I have tried to sync my ipod with Itunes but i get an error that "the ipod could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconect the ipod" alternatively uninstall iTunes and reinstall again. I have done all this together with resetting the ipod settings, changing USB ports but nothing seems to work. Anyone with a solution?

common windows 8 problem...
besides getting a new cable, try syncing with a different pc

  • IPod Nano 6th gen won't sync with iTunes 12.1.1.4

iPod Nano 6th gen won't sync with iTunes 12.1.1.4.
This iPod was synced with another iTunes library. I had to transfer iTunes library from another laptop.
Launch iTunes (12.1.1.4), plug in Nano, Nano display says connected, Nano appears in iTunes, but when I attempt to navigate to Nano nothing occurs, or if I am able to navigate to Nano then I can't go any further and select music to sync and the Nano comes out of connected state. I have had to close iTunes, sometimes reboot laptop, but nothing I do appears to make any difference. It won't allow me to continue music selection process and start the sync process. Is there a way to simply reset the Nano and reconnect to get it to sync? I don't care about content as it needs to be resynced with this iteration of iTunes because it is currently associated with the other iTunes library.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    What solved my problem:
I restored my iPod nano on my wife's PC, which had version 11 of iTunes. I was then able to sync it on my PC. Why didn't I restore it on my PC? See following details.
    Additional details:
I first took the iPod to the local Apple Store, where the only course of action they could offer was to restore the iPod. So they did. When I got home, it wouldn't even connect to iTunes on my PC, which was a regression from the day before. Out of desperation I plugged it into my wife's PC, and her older version of iTunes immediately told me the iPod had been formatted on a Mac and it needed to be restored on a PC to be usable by a Windows machine. Why my newer version of iTunes couldn't tell me that is a mystery.

  • Nano 1st gen will not sync with itunes

I dont understand, suddenly my ipod will not sync with the new itunes [the 7.1?] and i cant even restore it, becuase itues does not recogise it.
    I also tried two ways,
    1) with run i tried this services.msc and i made it into a manual option
    2) then i tried to restart the ipod through the computer management option.
what do u suggest? I dont have the old cd that came with the nano with the old itunes when i didnt have any of these problems.

    Hello
For some people (that don't have Fifth Generation iPods) in the new iTunes 7 (or 7.1) their iPods aren't recognized, but the new features in iTunes 7 may not be worth it, if you want your iPod to be recognized correctly.
If you think you'd like to go back to the old iTunes, then you can download iTunes 6.0.5 from Apple's website here -> iTunes 6.0.5 for Windows download (here is the original web page; look on the right panel to download).
So, if you don't have the installation CD, you can simply download it from the link above.
    I hope this helps you!

Where can i see it in itunes?

You must be using iTunes 10.7 or later for it to register that your iPod nano is plugged in.

  • My iPod classic 7th Gen  will not sync with my new computer. itunes is installed and updated.

    fellow iPod classic owners,
the problem is a failure to sync with the new computer. the conditions are as follows: the new computer is a pc. it has the latest iTunes software installed. the iPod is installed properly. i'm fully recognized by my iTunes account. there is nothing lacking other than my iPod's refusal to sync with my new computer. what have i left undone? i could be suffering from a duh, but i'm not the only one. nothing in the apple world is as difficult as this one is, at least on the surface. if it were that simple an issue, no one would be having any problems with it. any more information needed can be provided by request. by the way, the computer being used has been authorized. that is a non-issue.
                                                                                                                 your help is appreciated,
                                                                                                                     hardphil.

I believe the IPOD (Classic) uses USB 2.0,  and my new laptop uses USB 3.0.  I think they are not compatable because of this.  If you find a solution to this please let me know.
    Thanks,

  • Ipod Touch 2nd Gen. Not Syncing With Itunes or Windows.

I have an Ipod Touch - 2nd Generation 16GB iPod. It has IOS 4.2.1 installed on it.
My Ipod Touch is still functioning but will not let me connect it with my computer so the ipod is not shown or iTunes or Windows. It was last working on the 19th of January using Itunes 10. I then updated to iTunes 11 and have only attempted to reconnect my ipod today (29/01/13) to no avail.
I have attempted to connect my ipod touch with 3 different cables, none of which have worked despite all of these working when I attempted to charge the iPod using an external charger. The Ipod has worked as normally, allowing me to utilize all the available features. I have attempted to resolve this problem myself and have attempted the use of differ cables, as described above. I have also tried to restore the Ipod and have turned the device on and off, numerous times. Furthermore, I have also turned off the Apple Mobile Device and have turned it back on but it has not rectified the problem.
Thank you for your help in advance.
