My iPod Nano G6's screen won't turn on.

When I first discovered this, I plugged it in to see if restoring it would help, and the screen flashed the Apple logo really quickly, but since then the screen has shown no activity. Both the computer and iTunes still recognize it, and I'm able to load anything onto it, but because of the malfunction with the screen, I'm unable to access any of what I do load onto it.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Ipod nano shut off completely won't turn on

I had just finished deleting some songs from my ipod but screwed it up when trying to apply settings then syncing after deleting so nothing I deleted stayed deleted on my ipod nano 7th generation so I deleted them on iTunes, old songs that didn't play. so I synced and went to use my ipod nano and played a song from a CD that was sketchy at best I got from my library (It shouldn't matter right) and BAM it just turns off completely, screen is black, does not turn on when I hold the standby button or plug it in an outlet or a lightning cable for the computer. help. is this the end of my nano?   it's been too long since I bought it I can't return it.  I don't know if it was me deleting songs manually from ITunes then syncing, or If it was playing that one CD I haven't played on my ipod. I'm not sure if it was in great condition when it synced but then again, I played other songs from CDs that didn't burn all the songs because the CD was scratched or in bad condition. I almost think its because I finally deleted a song from my ipod that was possibly corrupt, then corrupted my Ipod because I deleted it. A lot of these old songs were from my old sansa sandisk mp3 player.

I found out the problem it froze and I went to the ipod nano troubleshooting and performed a system reset (hold home and standby buttons) very cool although I don't know how it happened if anyone has any suggestions.
also I have an iPhone wonder if I should back up my songs there, though I feel less comfortable having my whole library on my phone, despite it having much more options than the nano.

  • My iPod 4 generation's screen won't turn on.

I have an iPod touch (4th generation).
The situation is that the screen is black and stays black even if I were to plug it in, or turn it on, even though it isn't dead or shut off because I can still hear the noises it makes, for example, I can hear notifications I recieve, the noise it makes when its being plugged, and etc.
I can adjust the volume and I know it's not dead because it obviously can make noises. Everytime I try to turn it on, nothing happens. The screen is completely black, as if it were to be dead.
I take very good care of my battery, so I know for sure it isn't a battery blowout issue. My iPod is still indeed working and it turns on, but you just can't see anything when it does turn on. It is a blank screen.
I'm not sure if it'll work again and I have no solutions on how I may be able to fix it. Do you guys have any suggestions? Or have you guys ever had this happen to you before? What did you do to try and fix it?

  • Is my iPod dead? (blank screen, won't turn on)

    or can I fix it
So I'm scrolling through to pick out some tunes for the car ride, I plug my 'Pod into a Griffin iTrip (plugs into the car's 9v jack and transmits your music over the radio), and then everything goes wrong. My screen is showing black and then showing the Apple logo. I notice the brightness of the Apple logo is changing, as if electricity is surging unchecked through my iPod so I unplug it, but it is too late. The Apple logo shows for a few more seconds, then nothing. No sign of life.
Attempted resuscitation was unsuccessful (recharge, reset, etc. including everything from Google and the Apple website).
The screen is blank. My computer doesn't recognize the 'Pod when it is plugged in (suggesting it is fried?). Has this happened to anyone before? Any ideas?
    I am sad. Please help.

this is what i'm afraid of, except for 2 things (based on 2 assumptions, which may be totally unfounded):
    1. wouldn't the iPod have died instantly, like a blown fuse?
    2. shouldn't the iPod, an expensive bundle of electronics, have some sort of voltage regulator to prevent this?

  • How much will apple charge me for fixing a cracked ipod nano 6th gen screen??

Well I don't have any warranty and i want to get my ipod nano fixed! So how much will apple charge me to fix a cracked ipod nano 6th gen screen????

They won't actually "fix" the iPod, but instead will replace it with an exact refurbished replica.  See this page for pricing.

ipod nano 5 resets but won't sync with itunes on two different pc's

What happens when you try? Does the iPod even appear in iTunes?  Have you tried a different cable or different USB ports on each PC?

  • Ipod nano 2nd gen screen is scrambled

I have a 2nd gen Ipod nano and the screen is either blank or scrambled.  I tried to reboot it by holding down the menu and center button simultaneously and that had worked in the past but not this time.  Before I would get the Apple logo on the screen but nothing now.

Have you tried any of the standard 5 r's of troubleshooting yet?  If so, and the issue still persists, your iPod's LCD is damaged and needs to be replaced.

My iPod Nano, 4th gerenration buttons won't work anymore, but I can still shake iPod to get song to shuffle... any help?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
iOS: How to back up your data and set up as a new device
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

You can try Restoring it in iTunes but I believe you will end up needing to have it serviced.

  • My screen won't turn

MY screen won't turn from sideway to straight up. How do I get it todo that?

Make sure the rotation lock isn't on.
Double tap the Home button and then swipe to the left to make sure the circular arrow doesn't show a lock.

  • [Help]iPhone 5s screen won't turn on / won't play sounds

    Hello, my name is Bryan.
I've got a problem with my iPhone 5s. I opened my iPhone to fix an issue with the home button (Watched a guide on youtube on how to achieve this), and I connected everything as it is supposed to go, my home button is working but now my screen won't turn on or the phone won't play any sounds. I know the phone it's on because I can connect it to the computer and the computer recognizes it. Also, I tried calling it, and it rings on the phone I am calling from, but my iPhone simply won't play any sounds...
I am also sure the phone is not in DFU mode.
    Any help?
    Thanks in advance,
    - Bryan

It won't even vibrate or do anything, but it's on.

  • My iPod Touch 4th Generation 8gb won't turn on and is frozen on the loading symbol/wheel, I tried the method where you hold the home and lock button lots of times and it hasn't worked! What do I do?

My question won't all fit in but it says 'My iPod Touch 4th Generation 8gb won't turn on and is frozen on the loading symbol/wheel. What do I do?'
I've had this problem from about two weeks and I forgot about it, but today I wanted to play on it and remembered that it's not working, I've tried connecting it to iTunes via my laptop but I'm not to sure how to update it because I thought that might fix it, but no luck. I've tried the trick where you hold the lock and home button but nothing happened apart from it just went back to the apple logo and then to the frozen loading symbol/wheel. I need help!
