My iPod 3rd gen 32gb won't allow me to see my "Saved Photos" because the "Albums" banner covers it. This occurred with last week's update.

I've read that the only cure is opening the Multitaskbar by double clicking the home button, search for the photo app, tap on it until it starts to shake and hit the little "Minus-icon" in the left corner. Then close the bar again and try again to open the photo app.

  • How do I make a folder in iOS4 for Ipod Touch 3rd Gen 32gb?

How do I create a folder to place apps in? I just upgraded my Ipod Touch 3rd gen, 32gb to iOS4 and I don't know how or where I go to create a folder.
The update also said I could have a home screen wallpaper. (Does this mean behind the apps?) If it does, how do I set it?

Folders: press and hold an app icon until they start to wiggle. Then drag the icon onto another icon and a folder will be created.
For Wallpapers: Go to settings>general>wallpaper>choose picture>then you can set as lockscreen, homescreen(yes behind apps), or both.

  • IPod Touch 3rd Gen 32GB Constantly Freezing

I've had my 32gb 3rd Gen ipod touch since Nov 2009 and for about five months now it's constantly freezing up.
It's random when it does it and will freeze up regardless of software updates or resets.
I'm running 4.3.5 and have wiped it clean numerous times using itunes but it still does it.
We have an iphone and ipod classic and have never had a problem with either of those.
    Can anyone assist?
I was thinking of taking back to apple via a store but other than charge the repair cost of £110.00 I've seen on the apple UK website what else could they do?
    Many thanks,
    Will

That what I fear, but as it started just out of the twelve month warranty and has become steadily worse until it's been practically unusable for the last three months it leaves a very bitter taste.
Only because I'm used to doing it I'm resetting back to factory settings as I type.
    Thanks for your input.

  • Ipod touch 3rd gen 32gb problem

Yeah I currently was getting ready to trade it into gamestop so I tried restoring it to factory settings and deleting all my information off of it before trading it in. When I did that, all it does now is go to the apple logo and then show a lil loading dial that fills up and then my ipod shuts down it does not do anything else. Please help?

    Try here:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
If yuo have a 1G or 2G iPod and you went to Settings>General>Reset>Erase aAll Contents and Settins without the iPod being connected to a charging source that can take hours and fully drain the batter before the erase is completed.
After being connected to a charging source for an least an hour try a rest:
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
and then placing the iPod in Recovery mode and restoirng via iTunes.

  • IPod Touch 3rd gen 32gb randomly hides podcasts/music

About once a month or so I will leave the house with my iPod Touch and find all my podcasts and music missing! When I tap the music tab there is a message in Japanese saying "You have no podcasts/music". So when I get home I have to either restore from a backup or unsync and resync. Or sometimes I can just sync normally again and magically everything returns to normal. What is up with that and how can I fix it?

    - See if placing the iPod in recovery mode will alw iTunes to see the iPod so y can restore the iPod. for recovry mode:

I made a mistake of trying to put 5.0.1 beta 1 firmware on my ipod touch 3rd gen ( non-registered) unsuccessfully. Now the ipod doesn't work at all with any public firmware. Any suggestions?

You can try putting the iPod into Recovery Mode and restoring it:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
If that doesn't work, you'll need to take this up in the forums to which you have access as a member of Apple's iOS developer program.

  • IPod touch 3rd gen spinning wheel plus home button doesn't work. How to fix?

I have an iPod touch 3rd gen that is stuck on the Apple logo and also has that spinning of wheel death thing. I am trying to enter into DFU mode but won't work due to the home button not working. Is there any other way I can fix this and make it boot back up regularly?

If not let the battery fully drain. After charging for at least for an hour try again.
If you can update to iOS 5 and the Home button sill does not work yu can turn on the Assistive Touch Accessibility feature. See chapter 30 of the Users Guide.

  • Ipod Touch 3rd Gen Freezes, is really slow.

I just bought a new 32GB iPod touch 3rd gen yesterday, and it keeps freezing up. When it loads the "Slide to unlock" screen, the text doesn't "light up" and when I slide the slider over, it doesn't move. after about 20 seconds it then proceeds to the home screen and is frozed there for another 10 seconds. Then it responds normally and lets me use it temporarily. after X amount of time, (1 min - 5 mins) it freezes up when I try to enter text, and does not display the text i'm typing for about 20 -40 seconds and seems completely unresponsive. then after that 20-40 seconds it enters all the text that i typed, or if i pressed the home button during that time it will show the home screen. Any ideas on the problem? I plan on exchanging it today.
I have tried hard resets and 2 factory restores on 2 separate machines with no difference in preformance

Yes I have the exact same problem bought mine in December the 32GB version. I brought to a authorised repair centre but they could find nothing wrong with it. I am back to square one with a dud ipod - lots of reports on here of similiar problems...

  • Will Apple cover me if updating to iOS5 on ipod Touch 3rd gen ruins/bricks it?

I have heard stories of some people's apple products not working/bricked after attempting to upgrade to iOS5.
I have a 1.5 year old ipod Touch 3rd gen. No warranty on it from Apple (tho I do have one from Square Trade for ADH, but I called them and they said if it is a software issue, they don't cover it.)
I am very concerned about d/ling the ios5 upgrade and it ruining my ipod touch.  In effect, I will take a device that could fetch almost $200 on ebay (which I could then use to upgrade to a Touch 5gen), and turn it into a worthless piece of junk if I upgrade and it ruins it.
Also, I know that they have released 5.0.1 (beta I believe?) for update.   I still read stories on here from people waiting until now (Nov, a month after it was first released when so many people tried to d/l it and had terrible problems), but now are still getting network timed out error msgs, etc.
So is there ANY protection from Apple if their update should screw my ipod touch??
Should I just wait longer for a final, stable version  of ios 5? (like v5.1)  Or just totally skip the iOS 5 upgrade and stay safe with iOS 4?  I don't know that it is really worth the $200 loss risk to upgrade to iOS5.  (i.e. 3rd gen doesn't have the ability to find and lock/wipe my lost touch, etc.)
I do know that I should:
    1) install itunes 10.5 anew on my laptop  (itunes and syncing WAS done on my tower, until I just got it back from being serviced for some Major problems/virues/malware/etc.  I'm not comfortable using it, as the problems on it included not being able to start Local Services, connect to the internet, no audio services, etc.  The guy says it is booting up and services are working now, but you never know....But i digress...)
    2) be on AC and not battery on my laptop
    3) be hardwired (ethernet) to the internet and not use my wireless connection
    4) turn off Windows 7 Firewall, and disable my PC Tools Spyware Docter with Antivirus.
So, what do you all think? should I wait until later to upgrade to say os 5.1?  Should I even RISK upgrading to iOS5 on a touch 3gen and lose almost $200 cash?  And will Apple give me ANY protection should it ruin my touch?  (I seriously doubt it.)
    Thanks for input.

Before proceeding with the update, it wouldn't hurt to manually back up the iPod in iTunes by right->clicking on it from under the Devices section and choosing Backup.    See this article for more information on what is stored in the backup.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4946
Also make sure that any content you may have synced to the device from iTunes, such as Music, movies, TV Shows, podcasts, etc. are all stored on your computer and in iTunes before updating the iPod's version of iOS.
Otherwise, I would go ahead with the upgrade.  I didn't have any issues with it on my iPhone.

  • Erased all Content and Settings on my iPod Touch 3rd Gen

I've erased all my contents and settings on my ipod touch 3rd gen because I wanted a fresh new start. What happened was I clicked accept to erase all the contents and settings then it shut down and it was erasing everything. Now my problem is that it's stuck on the apple logo, it won't load at all. I've tried doing the restart thing with the home button and on button but it just ends up staying at the logo. My computer doesn't detect my iPod touch nor does my iTunes. I'm in serious trouble. I haven't used my iPod touch for 1 month because of this problem. Please anyone help me

Do you have any security software installed? If yes, make sure iTunes can connect to Apple during the restore process: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3125
If this does not help, delete the ipod firmware file (*.ipsw) on your computer, located C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates to make iTunes download a new copy when you connect again in recovery mode. Maybe the file on your computer got damaged. Also make sure to run the latest version of iTunes (9.2.1).
    Good luck.
