My iPod touch 5th gen is not charging. I have tried different cords and plugs too. When I press the power button it just has the charging symbol with a red line in it but it isn't charging at all. Won't connect to iTunes either.

I tried recover mode twice and it did nothing. The 15 day warranty is already up and I'm just wondering if I need to replace the battery at all? Also, before it stopped charging, it would turn off for no reason and the only way to turn it back on was to plug it into a charger and then it would turn right back on and have the same amount of battery that it had when it turned off... Is it the battery I need to replace??

    Having real issues with my iPod touch 5th gen touchscreen not responding when it's on charge. Parts of the screen go dead or need several taps etc. Tried removing case etc. made sure I'm using included charger and directly to the mains not on an extension. Is it faulty?

    Some other users have reported same problem. I have not heard of a resolution. You can try:
    - Using another cable
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

I have an Ipod touch 5th gen that was bought 5 months ago and I encountered a hardware malfunction (ipod have black scren and not charging at all) so I brought it to the genius bar and had it repaired after two months cause it was sent to singapore it was going smoothly until yesterday when I left it to 20% battery remaining, the next morning when I plugged it in to a USB cable to charge it, it wasn't charging at all it only shows black screen and nothing I've tried plugging it to another computer and tried to use a different cable (My Aunt's) but not working so I tried plugging my Aunt's phone to my cable but its working/ My itouch is not opening even if I did the hard reset many times and even thought I connected it to itunes. itunes doesnt recognize it..     So I got a new ipod touch 5th gen for christmas.  When I put songs into a playlist and play them they dont always play in the correct order, or sometimes they dont play at all.  I had no problems with it the first week I had it but then all of a sudden it didnt play the music correctly.  It will skip one song and then play another song a second time in place of it.   Then sometimes it will randomly skip the last bit of a song and go to a different one but when I go in and look at the songs being played it says its still playing the song that it decided to skip.  It also will play the songs in a different order than what I put them in along with the previous problems listed ocurring.  Please let me know if theres anything I can do to fix this or if I should send it in to apple or maybe even take it back and exchange it for a different one.  Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!!!

    So I have a ipod touch 5th gen and it suddenly turned off and will not turn on.
    Okay, I just want to say first I know the answer would be to hold the top button and the home button at the same time until it turns on.
    The thing is, my centre home button stopped workings months ago so I was using the assistive touch.
    What happened:
    I was using my ipod and the battery was almost full. When I tried to use it 10 minutes later it was turned off and I can't turn it on. I tried plugging it on my computer and it will not recognize it.I also tried holding only the power button on top for a while but nothing happened.
    Any ideas?

  • My (up to date) iPod touch 5th gen is not showing up in (up to date) iTunes on my Windows 8.1 laptop.

    I have recently bought a new laptop and downloaded iTunes to it right away. I have not been able to connect my iPod touch 5th gen to iTunes at all since then. I have updated both the iPod and iTunes completely and both are up to date. I tried different iPods of the same generation and they haven't connected either. I have tried using different cables and all my usb ports. I tried resetting my iPod and re-installing iTunes to my computer. My iPod is showing up in my computer but not under devices in iTunes. Can anyone help?
