i upgraded to iOS 6.1.3 and after that my ipod started having trouble charging, at first i though the lightning cable was the problem so i bought 2 more lightning cable chargers and my ipod still would'nt charge, so it died. now the only thing my ipod does is when i try to turn it on it shows the apple logo and then the screen goes off and does it again for a few times and then the screen stays off and my ipod gets really hot but wont turn on for the rest of the day help!!

The hotness indicate a hardware problem.

I just recently saw an ad on craigslist of someone selling an iPod Touch (5th Generation) for extremely cheap. The catch was the battery could not charge. Considering how cheap I got it, I figured it would be a simple battery replacement or such that I could find online and I would have a like-new iPod Touch. The only issue is I cannot find any solutions to this exact problem. Basically what has happened is, no matter where I plug-in this iPod, I only get the empty battery logo with the lighting bolt underneath. I have tried changing cords, and changing where it gets charge from, (my computer, wall charger, iPad charger) and it does the same thing. I have even tried leaving it charged for over 30-min+ and it still does not charge. My iPod Touch 5th Generation loses charge when the device is turned OFF!!! Help!

I bought my iPod Touch 5th Generation a couple months back and it has been working beautifully. I loved the new design, features, color choices, etc. However, just a couple days ago, my iPod has been acting up. I turned it off one night with a FULL battery (I usually turn it off when I'm not using it) and when I turned it back on in the morning, half the battery was gone. Originally, I assumed that maybe I just didn't swipe to turn it off right. WRONG. I charged it up, used it, and turned it off again for the night. When I turned it on the next day, the battery was practically gone. I tried not to panic, so I just restored the iPod to its original settings. I erased EVERYTHING. Then I charged it for a good six hours. The problem didn't go away.
This isn't a cheap device. I'm sure you guys know that. The only reason why I think this could be happening could be because of the new iOS 6.1.2 update. I updated my iPod about a week or so ago. And now I'm having this serious problem? That is the ONLY possibility I could think of. And this thing is brand new. I treat it like it is made of glass. Literally. I'm so meticulous when it comes to my things.
So can someone please help me try to fix this problem? I still have a warranty and the iPod is under a year old. To replace the battery now is ridiculous. It's brand new. I didn't pay hundreds of dollars for my iPod to croak on me after using it for a couple of months.

Ipod touch 5th generation not charging anymore

I got my Ipod for Christmas in 2012 and it was kept in perfect condition until one little drop that shattered the screen about 10 months ago. The drop never affected the performance of the Ipod in anyway. It worked fine until yesterday when I thought my charger started getting faulty. My friend plugged his phone in and it charged perfectly fine and that left me to think that it is either the battery that is old/ breaking or the charging port is messed up. I've cleaned it out and plugged it in but nothing is happening. I plug in the charger and no charging notification shows up.

i have the ipod touch 5th generation and last night i was using like i normally do,but the it just turned off and i thought that my battery died so i put it to charge but im pretty sure that my battery was at least 40% so i found that a little bit odd and when i plug it in it didnt make any sound and nothing showed on the screen. I kind of just ignored it so i let it charge the whole night and the next morning when i woke up the firts thing i did was to check on it. My ipod still wont turn on or charge and tried to connected to my computer but nothing shows up. i will really appreciate if someone could help me.

I tried to charge my iPod Touch 5th generation but it died while charging and it was tuning and it said i had to connect to iTunes so i did and i had to restore it to use it and while restoring an error code (9) appered and i can't use it. Plz help

   So I was using my iPod Touch 5th generation and the charger wouldnt charge it and it died then while it was in the process of tuening back on the apple logo dissapeered and it kept on turning on and off so i put it into DFU mode and it said to plug it into itunes to i did and it said i had to restore it to use it but when i tried to restore it it brought up ," Couldnt restore ipod, error code (9) " ..... and i have tried 3 different USB cables and two different computers and USB ports and i have no clue what to do so i would like help from anyone please that would be awesome!!!!

IPod Touch 5th Generation Australia Release Date? Last week I went to the Carindale Apple store located in Queensland and they had said they wont be getting it for a few months but they'll get it before next year. Anyone know the exact date ?

So the question says it all. Last week, I went to the Carindale Apple Store located in Queensland to purchase a iPad 2 and a iPod Touch 5th Generation. I asked one of the shop assistants when they were getting the iPod Touch 5th Generations and they had said that they didnt know that they would recieve it in a few months but they'll recieve it before next year. I have an iPod Touch 5th Generation with iOS 8.1, my home button is broken and I've been using AssistiveTouch for months now. Today I just locked my iPod and it wouldn't unlock again, it doesn't respond at all, it won't turn on. It was almost fully charged, so it's not the battery. I followed the steps from this thread, but I'm still getting the "USBMuxListenerCreate: No Error" message in CMD Prompt. I bought my iPod abroad and even though I do have the warranty, I've been told at the iStore that it's not valid here, so going to the store isn't really an option. Any ideas how to solve this?

Sorry, but without a working home button it is not possible to reset or restore your device. You should visit an Authorized Appel Service Provider or Apple Store to get it serviced. The warranty for an iPod is not limited to the country where it has been bought, check here: one-year limited warranty

I have the ipod touch 5th generation. When I charge my ipod i always leave it alone and often have a battery app open. Today however when I was charging my ipod it overheated and now won't turn on. I have left it and it has completely cooled down but still wont do anything. Please help me if you have any idea on what to do. I have tried to restart it and put it into recovery but it wont do anything. when i connect it to the computer it doesn''t show up in itunes or in my computer and nothing will come up on the screen of the ipod. I don't have an apple store near me so would be happy for any advice that could help.

However, I suspect a hardware problem based on the heating and the Genius Bar is very likely required. If you iPod is defective and not abused you will walk out with a replacement.

The product i am using is a Ipod touch 5th Generation, version 8.1. On friday i had laid my ipod on my jacket which was laying on my mom truck and i went to play basketball. So when i got back it was off, at first i thought it died but the ipod was cold. It wasnt turning on i put it on the charger and it still wouldnt turn on. So i kept it on the charger all night and in the morning (saturday 10/25/14) it turned back on. So i went to the wifi to connect to my home wifi and it said no wifi is found. So i reset the network settings on my ipod and turned off the wifi box for 30 seconds then turned both back on and it still said theres no wifi. I followed every step but it still doesnt show any wifi. I tried to enter it manually but it keep saying "Could not find the network". But when i do it on my brothers phone it works. Can someone please help me get wifi back on my Ipod touch. I did all the steps but still nothing work.
