  • Ipod touch wont turn on and itunes wont detect.HELP!!!!

Can anyone please help me after updated my ipod touch 8gb 1st or 2nd gen cant remember. when i plug it into my laptop, itunes pops up as normal and it says waiting for ipod then the ipod turns on no logo just a blank black screen but its on, after about 2/3 mins it turns off and then in itunes it says. itunes detects an ipod but cant identify it with error code (1602). it also has done the exact same thing but with a white blank screen. i have tried to hard reset by pressing the home button and the power button at the same time i have tried it while its been fully off with the white screen and with the black screen(but switched on) absolutely nothing. i have aslo tried dfu mode in all of them situations i named but still nothing. i have aslo tried to re install the driver manually by navigating to usbappl but i get the error  windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it and underneath that it says the device can not start(10) i have ran out of ideas and can not find anything else online the ipod is absolutely not jailbroken and was working perfectly fine before the update.

If the USB connection between your device and computer is interrupted, you may be unable to update or restore.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
Use the USB cable that came with your device, or a different Apple USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port directly on your computer. Don't plug it into your keyboard.
    Try a different computer.
If necessary, resolve any further issues with the USB connection, then with your security software.
If you're still seeing the error message, check for hardware issues by following the next section.

Check that your security software and settings aren't preventing your device from communicating with the Apple update server.
Then try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good.

  • HT1923 I had Windows 7 and Itunes recognized my Ipod Touch with no issues.  Now that I've upgraded to Windows 8 I can't get my Ipod Touch to be recognized by Itunes.  Any suggestions?

I can't seem to get my Ipod touch to be recognized by Itunes now that I'm using my new upgraded Windows 8 Pro.  Has anyone else experienced this problem and do you have a solution?
    Thanks.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • How do I get my IPod Touch to be recognized by ITunes

A few weeks ago I brought my Ipod Touch in to connect to ITunes to resynch (bring it up to date). It had been some time since I had done that even though the IPod was working just fine tethered to by 2012 VW Jetta by way of in-vehicle connection. When ITunes connected the IPOd basicaally stopped working and I have not been able to get it back on line. ITunes said it was an IPod in recovery mode when I first connected it so I let it go through the motions. Now when connected to my IMac the screen lights up and the Apple logo comes on for about 30 seconds, then the screen goes black again and the whole process starts again - Screen lights up, Apple logo comes on for 30 nseconds and then it goes black and starts again. The Itunes never again sees the IPod on the left hand side of the screen.
Any clues on what is going on and how to the solve the problems would be helpful. This is an IPod that would not upgrade beyond 5.? I know I purchase it several years ago, but the exact date escapes me.

  • My Ipod touch won't connect to iTunes/Computer!

This problem has being going on for a month or so now! Firstly, iTunes kept freezing whenever I connected my iPod to my computer which became quite annoying. And recently it's just stopped connecting altogether, no beeping noise, no charging, no usb driver listed, no freezing- nothing. However, whenever I turn my iPod off and connect it, my iPod turns on? I've tried reinstalling iTunes many times, as well as all the other software but nothing seems to work. I've also tried reinstalling the usb driver, which did eventually work but then caused my iTunes to freeze. I then disconnected my iPod to find that it wouldn't connect again, and the usb doesn't show up still. My computer is running on Windows Vista, and my iPod is an iPod touch 4th gen. Can anyone help me!? I really don't want to reset my iPod as I'd loose everything on it and I've owned it for quite a few years

  • My old 1st gen ipod touch wont turn on and makes a clicking sound when I plug it in.

My old 1st gen ipod touch wont turn on and makes a clicking sound when I plug it in. The ipod doesnt turn on when I plug it into the wall, even if I let it charge, and itunes won't recognize it. I have tried to reset it with the home and power buttons. Whats wrong and how can I fix it? I think it might be the memory or the battery. What could the clicking sound be related to? Thanks

Try placing the iPod in recovery mode and then try restoring the iPod.  For recovery mode see:

After that I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • 1st Gen. iPod touch wont turn on. Home button doesn't work. Can't reset.

Hi there.  My 1st generation iPod touch wont turn on.  The battery has drained completely, and the few times this happened in the past, I could just reset it by holding the home and top buttons, the iPod would turn on, I could plug it in, and then it would charge--no problems.  However, now the home button does not work, so I cannot reset it. When I plug it in to the charger, the Apple logo appears for about 20 seconds, then disappears.  Also, if I hold the top button for about 2 seconds, the same thing happens (Apple logo appears for about 20 seconds, then disappears).  So, it doesn't turn on, wont reset due to the home button not working, and can't connect to the computer or iTunes.  However, it still has some life in it because the Apple logo always appears when it's plugged in or when I hold the top button.  Can anybody help?  Thanks.

If the iPod still has its original battery, it could be that the battery finally bit the dust.
