My ipod touch is flashing white on and off, I hold the buttons down, and the screen goes black- but the apple logo does not come on. What do I do?
So I have had this problem before, and know that you hold down the top Power button and the Home button, at the same time, for roughly 10 seconds, or until the apple logo comes on.
The problem is, when I press the buttons and the screen goes black, like it's supposed to before the logo pops up, the apple logo isn't appearing.
I was wondering if that's because my I pod touch was drained when I plugged it in to charge, and I tried to turn it on when it was still charging?
What can I do?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

The iPod firmware is corrupted and you need to go into DiskMode and Restore the firmware.

Flashing Apple logo - does not come on and cannot power it down
My husband has original iPhone from Dec '07. For some reason, while using it, his volume went low and he could not raise it. He tried powering it down to reset it but screen went black and then apple logo came on, then went black, then came on, flashing like that for several minutes before going black. He brought it home, i tried holding the sleep/wake button, but same result - flashing apple logos for few minutes, then black. Tried holding home button but also same result. Plugged into computer - it came on but the "Sync in Progress, do not disconnect" did not come on and phone did not register on desktop even though iTunes showed it. Anyways, did a complete restore with most recent software but again, we're still having the same problem. Phone works when plugged into computer, but not in the way it should and once you unplug it from the computer, sleep/wake button does nothing and cannot power it down. After restoring it, i again tried to power down holding sleep/wake button, but got flashing apple logos again. Any suggestions? Do we need to just take this in and have it looked at?
Have you tried booting it to recovery? If you haven't, try these steps:
1) Close iTunes and unplug and power down your iPhone
2) Press and hold the home button
3) Keeping the home button held down, plug your iPhone into your computer
5) Keep the button held down until a recovery screen with a pic of a USB cable with an arrow pointing to an iTunes icon shows.
6) Open iTunes and perform a restore
If this doesn't solve your problem, you have to go to an Apple store and get it exchanged, as the above post said.

Apple logo does not appear when resetting ipod
Screen froze and ipod beebed. Connected to pc and managed to install restore software. Managed to sync some music to it, but nothing shows on ipod screen. I havet tried to reset the ipod as in the support suggestions but the Apple logo does not appear. Can anyone help please?
When I try to reset by pressing
the hold and menu button, the Apple logo never comes up.
Not surprising really since that's not the way to reset the iPod.

The way I did it was I got the free app sync:stream from the App Store and then added my ipod to my ps3's Bluetooth devices. Then went to audio settings and set output and input to 'Skaggs iPod' you then open the app and it will be listed under music as a media service. You then go to all tracks and click copy (press triangle) it will then begin to copy all of your songs onto your ps3 via Bluetooth. I haven't tried but I assume the same can be done with photos. It would probably be best to attach the iPod to a computer and restore it. This way you'll know it's wiped clean. Then, when you start up the iPod it will ask you for your Apple ID.

If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device) -
My iPod shuffle only worked for a short time. It will not charge and the power light does not come on. Bought it in 2009. Put it back in the box and in my desk. Recently tried to get it to work again but no luck. Anyone else have this problem? Very disappointed with the product although my wifes work perfectly.

If you have the chance stop by an Apple Retail store and talk to them about it...they often work deals for replacement of out of warranty non-working items for prices around half price. Won't hurt to stop by and see what they will do for you. -
i changed my laptop and install a new itunes on it, the usual basic i authorized my new laptop and downlad applications on it but my i tunes does not sync with my ipod i alreadt reinstall and downloaded all the application still it does not work please me...tnx

IiPad air2 suddenly freezes, the screen goes black but the sound is still on, I have taken it back to factory settings and it was OK then yesterday it froze again, only plugging it into my IMac got it going again. Anyone else got this problem?

I upgraded to Lion X and have been having problems with FaceTime my version is 2.0 and the Apple store does not have this version, what happened to the changes, I used to use IChat and it was great, this is no longer available. Any hints for video conferencing or for what is going on.
You can video conference with the iChat component of Messages. Not sure if that's possible with Facetime. I have been using Facetime for video chat without any problems. Quality is no different than with iChat.
