My iPod Touch won't turn on, PLEASE HELP ME!

Well, my iPod Touch 2G won't turn on, after I tried restoring the firmware, iTunes automatically closed during the restore.
After that, my iPod doesn't turn on, doesn't go into DFU mode, not in recovery mode. What do I do?
Sorry for the poor English.

Try the basic troubleshooting steps.
Also, try downloading RecBoot and see if that will kick it back in recovery mode,

  • IPOD Touch Won't Turn on! HELP!

So I am new to Mac having just got the Mac book and the Ipod Touch. It won't turn on. It did this to me yesterday and I just assumed that the battery was dead but when i plug it in with my usb to the Mac book it says that it has a full battery. I have tried pressing the circular button at the bottom and the one at the top as well as holding them down and still nothing. I have only had this itouch for 5 days so I dont' know what to do. Any help is appreciated.

This is one of the most popular things happening these days to iPhones and iPods and Apple provides 0 help.
I had this problem for 2 weeks, then figured it out.
First, press sleep/wake button and home button for 10 seconds. A screen image with iTunes and a USB cord should pop up; This is called a Recovery Mode.
Then, Connect it to computer, and itunes should recognize this as a iPod touch in Recovery Mode. I suggest you restore this, it will fix all problems.
    If that doesn't work
Go on a DIFFERENT computer then the one you usually use to sync your device, then on there put it on Recovery Mode, and restore it.
there is no solution besides to restore it.
Hope i helped you, I don't want this happening to anyone else.

  • IPod Touch Will Not Turn On - Please Help!!!

Hi...I have a 1st generation touch. I used it last week and it had a low charge. When I tried to charge it this morning nothing happened. The computer or iTunes would not recognize the touch. I remembered updating iTunes the other day...so I did an uninstall and then reinstalled...wondering if that was the issue. That did nothing. I've tried to go into recovery/DFU mode...and nothing...no response at all. Unfortunately my touch is out of the two year warranty. The touch has never been jailbroken. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can save my touch?
    Please...any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    having the following problem...
my ipod touch was hot at the bottom rear when i picked it up. for no reason. the display worked ok but didnt let me slide to unlock or slide to switch off. i have since fully charged it, fully discharged it several times and the screen remains black no matter which buttons i press. i have tried the reset by pressing top and bottom button for 10 seconds still nothing happening. It is now not recognised by the computer when i switch it on. or the tone from the computer when the usb is connected. iv not dropped or damaged the ipod in any way. tried chaarging via ac plug for iphone and via laptop.
just there tonight i tried charging via a different usb port on the laptop and that has brought it back to life. started charging again etc but the screen has what looks like a watermark across the right hand side making the touchscreen function at that side difficult to use. hopefully this will help.

Consider setting up a mail-in repair for your iPod http://depot.info.apple.com/ipod/
Or visit your local Apple Retail Store http://www.apple.com/retail/
In case your iPod is no longer covered by the warranty and you want to find a second repairing company, you can try iPodResQ or ifixit at your own risk

  • My iPod touch won't respond. Please help!

so... my iPod screen has froze and it won't let me unlock. My sleep button has also broke so i can't reset it, i have also tried restoring and setting it up as a new iPod to which did not work eiter, it just presents me with an error message. If someone could help me it would be great thanks.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
However, if you tell us what the error message said it may be easier.

Hi, my 4th generation iPod touch won't turn on. I lost it for about a year, and I plugged it in and it wouldn't turn on. Please help!
    ~Thanks

Make sure it's fully charged. Hold the Sleep/Wake + Home buttons down (at least 15-seconds) until Apple logo lights up. If that does not work, you may need a new battery.

  • My ipod touch won't turn on anymore!!!

MY IPOD TOUCH WON'T TURN ON ANYMORE!!
I don't know what happened. but I am beginning to think apple is ripping me and everyone off.
I don't know why I paid about 200-300 dollars for this iPod to be frozen or not turn on anymore!
When I downloaded Currency converter pro, it just froze my ipod.
Either it's that problem, or something is wrong.
I never dropped it in water or anything bad.
    PLEASE HELP.

Have you've tried holding down the power button for several seconds?
If so and you're still getting nothing you may have to do a hard restore.
here's how to do it on Mac OS:
    1. Connect you're iPod to the computer with the sync cable, and open iTunes.
    2. Hold down the power and home buttons for 10seconds, then release the power button (continue holding the home button for about another 6-8 seconds). iTunes should display a message stating that the iPod is in restore mode and needs to be restored before it can be used (or something to that effect).
3.Hitting the restore button will likely give an error message. You'll need to hold down option and click the restore button, which will bring up a file browser. Navigate to *<your user name>/Library/iTunes/iPod Software Updates/* and choose iPod2,12.2.1_5H11aRestore.ipsw (or similar ipsw file depending on your ipod, or iphone, generally choose the newest one) and click open.
    4. Wait for it to restore, when that's finished you should be able to further restore it using the backup that was generated when you last synced it.
I have never done this on windoze, but I imagine it's quite similar, just not sure where you'd find the ipsw file.

try pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until either the Apple logo or battery symbol appears.. this worked for me when my ipod touch didnt turn on or show the apple symbol.. hope this helps

You can work through the five 5 R's of troubleshooting to rule out the possibility of corrupted software.
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/
It might also be a good idea to let the iPod's battery fully drain. Then charge it back up and restore it once more in iTunes.
Otherwise, it's likely a hardware issue with the iPod's LCD display, meaning you'll need to take or send your iPod in for service either via Apple or a third party repair service. Here is Apple's repair pricing.
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/prices/
Note that they don't actually repair the device, but exchange it for one of the same generation, model, and capacity.  A third party service will actually replace the damaged part for a little less.  Google "iPod screen repair" and you should get a number of results to work with.
