My iPod touch wont charge or turn on?

My iPod touch was not fully charged but it had some charge and then it just turned off and now it won't turn back on. I plugged my iPod touch into charge and the red battery and lightning symbol comes on but that is still there a couple of hours later. If I unplug it it, is just a black screen and no matter what I do nothing happens. I can't turn it on and I have tried several different chargers that work for other devices so it is not the charger. I am abroad so I haven't got my laptop to see if it will charge that way or be detected in iTunes. I have tried resetting it and restarting it but nothing seems to be working. Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it? Any suggestions would be nice. Thank you.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

- Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
- Try another charging source
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • 4th gen ipod touch wont charge, turn on, or appear in itunes for recovery.

I have been trying to fix it for a few days now, repeatedly being linked to the same support pages but to no success. I ran the diagnostics tool in iTunes and everything is working fine it is just the device wont appear at all. I saw a back up that is saved from a few months back but i'm not sure what to do with it. It is stuck in a black screen, and nothing appears on screen. I have left it plugged into a wall charger and into my computer for several hours but no progress. It has 6.1.5.

I can put it in dfu mode, then try the restore function in itunes which starts normally and goes up to the point of restarting the ipod but again it wont start and shows the low battery icon.
one time i managed to get start (I don't know how) then restoring was completed and displayed icons normally with a message displayed saying that battery has only 20% but suddenly turned off and back again to the drained battery icon. what shall I do now? please suggest something, thanks

  • Ipod Touch wont start or turned on

I received a brand new Ipod touch as a gift. I bought a protective leather cover and screen protector to keep it safe. I used it for a month and one day I place it back after using it and it never started next day. I tried every possible way on the apple site to trouble shoot it, from holding the ON botton and home bottom from 10-60 seconds in the span of a 3 weeks multiple times. I tried to use 5 USB ports and connected directly to a desktop to ensure it is charging properly. I even borrowed another charging/sync cable to check if the one I have is faulty....Bottom line... couldn't turn my Ipod ON. What are my options, my Ipod is brand new and few months old. Please help

It wont even turn on despite all kind of known trouble shooting of holding bottons, charging, swtiching the USB ports and computer and changing the chanrging cable...Every known trouble shoot, I could fine on the apple site.

  • Ipod touch wont charge start or reset

My ipod touch won't charge, turn on or reset. Can't get up the apple logo by holding home and power buttons. Itunes does not see it either. Nothing changes from the home screen of a red low battery with lightning bolt even after being on charge for hours. Have read a lot of troubleshooting problems and have tried every fix they said to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

My iPod Touch 4th Generation will not charge or connect to Itunes.

First try resetting the iPod.  If Itunes ee s the iPod restore the iPod
Next see if placing the iPod in recovery mode will make the iPod visiabe so you can restore it.  For recovery mode see:

  • My iPod touch wont charge

My ipod wont charge more than 20% and i think it might be the recharge/USB chord im using , but i charged it last night to full battery after i had this problem for two days, then my ipod died recently and now the problem persists, it wont let me charge past 20% .I have already reset all the settings for my iPod . but it still has this same problem, Anyone know what to do?

Try a restore, first from backup and if problem persists, restore to factory defaults/new iPod
If you still have the problem then an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order since you likely have a hardware problem.
