Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

First try to run Windows update and check the optional updates.
If no driver is distributed through Windows Update, you should contact the manufacturer or vendor of the hardware to supply the correct driver.

In case none of these yield results, it might be worth investigating what chipset is used in the laptop and checking with the chipset manufacturer whether they have a driver available.
note that many manufactureers will remove support for the Windows XP models as XP itself is no longer supported by Microsoft.

Can you please tell me how to edit the right-click menu in Firefox or Seamonkey (my second favourite browser), as I am constantly clicking on 'send link' instead of 'copy link location'.

I am using a download manager (of sorts), Getbot, and it picks up the 'copy link location' to download anything. The problem I have, as I already put in my question results in the wrong item being clicked upon and my e-mail client (Thunderbird) gets started. I ahve used other browsers as well (Google Chrome, Opera, Safari) with the same or similar results. I try to steer clear of any version of IE if I can!!
You've probably heard of the saying 'I wish I had ten dollars every time that happened'? Well I am in the same boat, I would never have to work another day for the rest of my life if that was possible.
Is there a text file to edit, or perhaps a Registry entry to adjust (I'm quite comfortable doing either).
Your help would be much appreciated.

Without knowing your version, I just picked 11.2, so you made need to look for that chapter in the documentation for your version to find applicable information.

I have had to erase my disk since then with trouble with Apple Store not recognising my machine and the reload from Time Machine has given complications . Can you please cancel my trial and return my Trial money.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can recover any photos in photostream, by logging into your account on your computer. Any photos that are in the camera roll and not in photostream may be in your backup if yo kept one. When you replace your phone, restore it using this back up.

99.9% of the time, the cause of this issue is the fact the phone was jailbroken/hacked to unlock it for use on networks other than the network the phone was originally locked to. Apple maintains a database of officially unlocked iPhones, and when Apple's servers detect phones such as yours, activation stops & you get the message you got.
So, you need to get a sim card from the carrier the phone was originally locked to, or get it officially unlocked, if you want to activate it. Because it appears that it was not officially unlocked.
Apple has started to get "tough" with hacked iPhones, & simply won't permit their activation.

Wow... you seriously over paid for an iPhone.
That probably explains why you have/had no clue you were purchasing a locked device and think it's an Apple problem to get it unlocked.
