Don't understand question, Changing iPod shouldn't affect iTunes on the computer you sync with. Plug in new iPod, it should take you through some screens of options asking how you want to setup the new iPod.
Just did this when going from 7+ year old iPod video to iPod Touch 5th gen. -

Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think? -
I had all my iTunes music backed up onto a hard drive; but the hard drive was stolen along with all the files I backed up onto it. However, the songs I had in iTunes still show up (I just can't play them.) If I were to use iCloud, would it still take those songs and let me listen to them (and maybe re-download them?) Or am I out of luck?
Open iTunes, go to the iTunes Store, and then go to Purchased on the right hand side under Music Quick Links.
You can re-download all the songs, apps, or books you have previously purchased.
I'm not sure if this is a requirement, but just in case, make sure you download the latest version of iTunes (v10.3) too. -

Did you install it yourself are somebody else for you?
If you installed them yourself, but do not remember which AppleID you used, try all AppleIDs you might have used in turn.
If somene else set up your Mac for you, ask the person to reinstall it. If you bought the mac second hand, the previous owner needs to contact Apple to transfer the iLife apps. If that is not possible, delete the apps that you cannot update and buy them using your AppleID. -

I downloaded several songs on my iPod touch and it wouldn't sync with my computer so I needed to restore it. Those songs that I had downloaded show up in my purchase history but they are no where to be found in the music library. The assistance I got from support was to chech the "Check for available downloads" and precede from there, but it isn't finding those songs. How can I get those songs back?
They are only where you put them, if you did not download them on the computer or transfer them from the iDevice, there is no logical expectation for them to be on the computer.

Hi there,
This seems very frustrating. An iPad can shut down randomally for many reasons, just like a computer can crash. If it begins to happen regularly, then do contact Apple, but there are no signs that your iPad is malfunctioning from just one shut down like this.
But, you should be able to get all your in-app purchases back. In some apps, there is a 'restore purchases' button, which will download all the purchases you made for free.
In some cases, you can tap to make the purchase again, and it will be downloaded at no charge, however this does not happen with consumable items such as coins and credits.
I reccomend contacting iTunes Store Support at the link below, they will take a closer look at your purchases and give you further steps on redeeming them. They may also refund you if they have been lost.

You can also contact the developer of the app, and report the crash and missing purchases. If you tell me the app, I'll give you the relevent contact in the developers.

I might be able to get my ipod back if I can tell the cops the serial number of the ipod that was stolen from my car. Is there any way I can get that? I have the original packaging from 2007 as well.

My iPod touch was stolen at school a few days ago and I do have the FindMyiPhone app on it, but no luck tracking it. I've sent messages to the iPod about contacting me if found, and I've also locked it from my friend's iPhone, but it keeps saying that since it's not connected to the internet, it can't locate it.. and that the messages won't be seen until connected to the internet. The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief. All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself. This requires action before the device is lost/stolen. If the device has significant personal informtion, it should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries. -

I apologize for my english.IF you set up find my ipod on the ipod itself BEFORE it was stolen AND it is on AND it is connected to wi-fi AND it has not been restored, then you may be able to find an approximate street address using icloud.
Otherwise there is no way to track it at all.
