My ipod wont start up and wont connect to itunes
My iPod Touch 4g was jailbroken at ios 5, then I wanted to un-jailbreak it and update to ios 6.1.3. So without connecting to iTunes I just tapped software update in settings and about halfway trought downloading it shut down and rebooted, 10 seconds into start up (my ipod usually takes just over a minute) it turns off and reboots, it cuts out and tries again, this repeats until the battery is dead. iTunes does not pick up my iPod with full or no battery. Please help ASAP, I have nothing to take it's place until I get an iPad 5 when it comes out. (I am in New Zealand)
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Zen Nano: wont start up and it connects to the computer i get an I/O device er
yea i accidently dropped the mp3 Zen Nano on a carpet floor not that high up but i tried switching out the battery thinking the battery was dead but it wont turn on and when i tried connecting it to the computer the computer registers it but it comes up with an "the request could not be performed because on an I/O device error. help would be apreciated considering its my little sisters.
Firmware... that's the program loaded into your Zen that tells it how to do this or do that. Engineers could have hard-wired everything directly into your Zen's microchips, but the good thing about firmware is that if there are bugs (i.e. issues) with your player, you could just update the firmware in your Zen and it'll be fixed (in many cases, anyway). Many devices can be flashed these days because more and more engineers think firmware is a good idea. Motherboards, video cards, DVD-ROM dri'ves, CD and DVD writers, MP3 players, etc. But you really shouldn't flash (that's what the process of updating firmware is called) your device even if there are newer firmware updates for it if you're not having any problems with it.
You can download the latest firmware from Creative's website and flash your Zen to perform a firmware update. You'd better be careful in following the instructions though, as not doing so can result in your player's firmware being messed up, and without it your Zen wouldn't even know how to turn on. If you're not sure how to do it, ask someone experienced in flashing to do it for you. -
My seven year old daughter got an ipod touch a few months ago from her father. She has now forgotten her password and it has been tried too many times and so the ipod has been disabled. It now say connect to itunes. I have tried to do this with the USB cable and itunes on my computer. Unfortunately it will not work as it will not connect saying the device is locked and to enter the password.
This is not the computer that she previously connected to and she may not be able to get access to that computer. Is there a way for us to reset the password preferably without having to restore the ipod and lose everything she has on it?Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

i cant restore my ipod because its desabled and it says connect to itunes. also itunes is asking me to put in a pasword but i cant and my home button does not work
If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone and use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.
You can also wipe the iOS device by installing the FindMyiPhone app on another iOS device and using that app to wipe the device.
Next use the method discussed in the following for placing the iPod in Recovery mode without buttons
Turn on without Home/Power Button -

Hi my mini ipad has locked me out and says connect to Itunes but it wont connect to it
Try:
Placing your device into recovery (DFU-Device Firmware Upgrade) mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the
other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds
until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
* If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the
Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,
release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,
let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some
charge, and then start with step 2 again.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button:
5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information. -
My iphone 4 has died and says connect to itunes. itunes restore wont work, error message 2001, then 2006 appears.Tried all the troubleshooting help, but nothing works. Any ideas???
I solved my own problem. Hopefully this will help someone else.
I did a DFU restore, then started it up as a new phone on iTunes. Everything loaded properly, then from iTunes did a restore from backup, selected the one I wanted and it still took me to the same screen with 3 options of restore. I chose the start up as new phone from the actual phone and after all the syncing was completed, my phone is back in working order.
