You may want to try resetting your iPod (Knowledge Base Document #61705 on How to Reset iPod). Have you tried "The Five Rs". Is this (Knowledge Base Document #303130 about iPod "stuck" on the Artwork or Rating Screen) your problem?

If it is plugged into a USB hub (or the spare keyboard port), try connecting it to a direct USB port.
Also, try doing this Reset procedure, while it is connect to power.

TS3367 facetime microphone not working. i can hear the recieiver but they can't hear me. can hear if i talk directly into the microphone by turning the ipad round to the back, then the receiver can't see me!!!!!!

the microphone on my ipad does not work for facetime. The person I am facetiming can see, but not hear me. if I go to the back of the ipad and speak directly into the microphone, they can hear, but obviously not see , as I'm at the back. HELP ! I CAN SEE AND HEAR THEM.

I saw one post where a user said dust got in the small mic hole. Used a vacuum cleaner to remove and audio restored. Try it.

First off, do you have a Fifth Generation iPod? If you don't have a Fifth Generation iPod, then you won't be able to play videos on your iPod. (That's the only model of iPod that can play videos.)
If you do have a Fifth Generation iPod, but your iPod only has a blank screen when you try to play a video, then let's take a look at your TV Out settings.
From the Main Menu on your iPod, go to "Videos > Video Settings > TV Out". Make sure that this is selected to be either "Off", or "Ask".

Hi, I turned my ipod on just now and the screen is blank. I can still hear the music but the screen is blank. Only the light is on. And yes, I read all those FAQ and suggestions but they did not work. I tried resetting it by pressing Menu and Select button, but as the screen is blank there's nothing to see! Im currently charging it right now....hopefully by tomorrow everything will be fine again.
Any suggestions? Have this happened to you?

I am having the same problem since updating. Only the screen is not really blank. The contrast is just so bright that you can't see the words. I managed to find the settings/contrast control and turned it as dark as I could, but it is still barely visible. Is there any way to get back to the previous update. When I go to it on the disc it just says "update not necessary".

It's happened to me before as well. Try holding both lock(top right) and home buttons simultaneously until u see a slight flash of wight then just reboot it normally. If that doesn't work try restoring your device from itunes

I can't get my ipod classic (120GB) to work. I am getting error code 1434, and the ipod is making a lot of clicking noises when plugged in

After coming back from Hawaii, my Ipod classic doesn't work anymore. When plugged into itunes, it says that it may be corrupt, and that I need to restore it. I have tried this, but everytime it gives me an error code of 1434. When I click more information, it sends me to a support page, but not for error code 1434. I tried all of the steps on the page hoping that it would help. Also my ipod is making a lot of clicking noises when it is trying to run, alomst as if it is skipping inside and can't fully run. Can anyone help me ?

Clicking sounds from an iPod that has a hard drive for storage is not a good thing. It usually means the hard drive is faulty. That is the likely reason for getting an error during the attempt to Restore.
If you use a Mac, you can try putting the iPod into Disk Mode

If it goes into Disk Mode, connect the iPod and instead of running iTunes, run Disk Utility. Does the iPod appear in the Disk Utility sidebar? If it does, select the iPod device in the sidebar, not the volume indented below the device (if there is one). Go to the Erase tab. Set the Format to Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Name does not matter. Click on Security Options and choose to write a single pass of zeros over the entire disk. This serves as a good "stress test" for the iPod's hard drive. Back on the main window, click Erase.
This takes longer than a regular erase, but you should see steady progress. If it errors out, or stalls for a LONG time (like hours), the hard drive is likely to be faulty.
If it completes successfully, quit Disk Utility, run iTunes and try to do another Restore

Try:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

You have your mute button on. In Settings check to see if you have Lock Orientation checked or Mute checked on the right hand side. If you have Mute checked, all you need to do is click the mute button above the volume control buttons on the upper right hand side of your iPad. If you have Lock Orientation checked in settings, you double click your home button and the most recent apps will appear. Swipe your finger to the right until the Mute icon appears on the left side. Touch it and you will unmute system sounds.

Make sure it the Equalizer setting did not get set to some odd setting. From the main iPod screen, select Settings. Look for an EQ setting, and set it to OFF.
If that does not help, at the bottom of the Settings screen, there is an option to Reset All Settings. Try doing that, which resets the iPod to all default settings.
If that does not help, you should do a Restore on the iPod in iTunes. Select the iPod in the iTunes sidebar, under DEVICES. Over to the right, on the Summary tab, there is a button to do a Restore. This will erase the iPod, re-install the software, and set it to default settings.

If the basics (restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new) don't work, you'll need to bring the phone to Apple for evaluation

I am curious if possibly the hotel has some sort of VOIP block on. Have you tried Skype? Did you talk to the hotel staff?
