My iTouch won't turn on no matter what I do

I have an iTouch, and for some reason... It won't turn on.
I tried resetting it by holding both buttons, plugging it into the computer, waited about 25 minutes to see if it was dead & it still WILL NOT turn on. My computer won't even recognize it. What should I do? It's the 1st gen. but it's been VERY well taken care of.

Sounds like you may need a new battery.

If you have owned the device, as in purchased from Apple, less than a year then there will be no charge to repair, or most likely, replace the device. If you have had the device more than a year you will be charged an out of warranty cost for replacement ($219 I think) and that is much cheaper than a new device. If you have Applecare+ then you have an additional year of coverage and the replacement will be $49 or $79 depending on when you got the Applecare.

  • TS3274 Ipad won't turn on no matter what I do.

Ipad will not turn on no matter what I do.  It remains off.

    Hi kdb,
Try holding down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them for 10-20 seconds. See if the Silver Apple appears. If it does, release the buttons and allow the iPad to reboot. Once it reboots, the Home screen will display.

  • IPhone 4s won't turn on no matter what I do.? Whats going on.?

So a about 2 months ago my phone was overheating so I took it out of it's case to cool down and it fell and the back completely shattered. After that no sound or vibrations were coming from it at all. Then a few weeks ago my phone completely shut off and now it won't turn back on no matter what I do. I hold down the power and lock button for 10 seconds and plug it in to my computer while still holding the home button, but nothing happens. I've looked everywhere on the internet and can't find anything about it. And also when I try every now and then, the apple logo pops up like its turning on but it never does. The sign just disappears and won't show up again.

  • Blackberry won't turn on no matter what

ok so my blackberry 9630 tour wont turn on even with a full charge for 8 hours, battery pulls, and no matter how many times i press the power button, it would not turn on. all it does is about every 30 seconds, ONLY WHILE CHARGING, the red light blinks for about 15 seconds, then repeats. i connected to blackberry desktp manager, and the same thing happens. it detects the phone ONLY when the light is on, so when i try to reload the software, it always says my blackberry was disconnected when its still in my port. so after a while of searching, i found out where "loader" was in program files (x86) > common files > research in motion > Apploader > loader.exe and used it, and the same thing happened. i took out the battery and tried to complete the process so it can reset, and while resetting it says it can't connect to the phone every time in the "configuring device" or something close to that phrase, step. i tried inserting my battery and doing it, still no luck, and i tried downloading the software setup file from blackberry website AND official sprint website and it says disconnected from device in the setup. i do not have service in my phone from any carrier but i still want it to turn on because it was my first phone. please is there any way i could turn it on WITHOUT calling some repair dude from sprint? please help i don't want to pay for anything. i thank you if there is a way to revive this old phone but if there isn't, i guess im screwed

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain directly connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB, not a cradle):
With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
    Remove the battery
    Wait 15 minutes
    Insert the battery
Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.
It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
Obtain an known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem. Note carefully please that "new" and "know good" are not necessarily the same things. While rare, a "new" battery certainly could be defective. Rather, the simplest (and least costly, btw) method to conduct this test is to find someone with an identical BB who has no issues...trade batteries and see what happens.
Good luck and let us know!

  • My ipod touch 5th gen froze and shut off and won't turn on no matter what I do, HALP

I went to plug my iPod in and it froze, and then several minutes later went black and I have tried soo many things to get it to turn back on, but it's like it went into a coma. It won't show up when I plug it into my computer and it wont turn on with the power button.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IPod won't turn on no matter what I try!!

Maybe a couple days ago, I noticed that my iPod wouldn't turn on, even if I toggled the hold switch or held down menu. I know it should be charged, since I have a home iPod dock where I keep it charged. I then plugged it into my computer with the USB cord, but my computer didn't even acknowledge that the iPod was connected. I have used two different USB ports, and still nothing. Please, ANY IDEAS?!

Firstly, sorry for my poor English, but I would like to share with you my experience, and hope that it may helps you.
Since the release and update of iTunes 7, I have not faced any problem, but I heard a lot of articles from this forum about the errors 1417, 1418, 1428 and 50 etc. I could not make any suggestion and find a solution about it, all I could do is to copy some threads from some successful cases mentioned on this forum.
Until yesterday, I finally received a 4th Gen 20GB iPod (around 2 years old)from a friend and asked me whether I could fix it for him, which has been left untouched as a paper-weight for almost 2 months.
I tried to turn it on, and the screen was completed blank and the device looked dead. Before doing anything I prepared the following:-
    1. A window based PC
    2. A Mac computer
    3. An USB iPod cable
    4. A Firewire iPod cable
    5. An iPod AC charger
As the iPod was previously formatted on a PC, therefore I tried to plug it with a PC via USB cable, it did not response and not able to get recognized by the PC. I ejected the iPod and connected with an AC charger, after a few minutes, I did a Reset for the iPod
    How to reset iPod
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61705
The iPod showed an Apple sign, it stuck there for almost a minute, the screen then showed a battery with an exclamation mark sign, and after a minute, the iPod turned off itself. I was sure that the iPod carried very low battery, and could not be charged by connecting it with any computer (both Mac and PC).
I decided to let it have a charge with an AC charger for a bit longer, after 10 minute I did the Reset again, this time a sign of folder with exclamation mark showed up after the Apple sign, and again could not get recognized by a computer.
I changed my mind, and put the iPod into disk mode
    Putting iPod into disk mode
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651
Instead of connecting with a PC, I plug it with my Mac using a Firewire cable, it did not response, so I switched the cable to an USB, interestingly, the iPod got recognized and a window pop up indicating that the iPod needed to do a Restore. Therefore I clicked ìRestoreî, after a few seconds, an Error message pop-up with Error Message 1417, the sign that I have been waiting for quite sometime.
I ejected the iPod and the screen immediately showed a folder exclamation mark (a sign indicating a corrupted or a failure iPod OS). I am forced to put the iPod into disk mode again, connected with the Mac computer and open the Disk Utility
    1. Open the disk utility, hope your iPod appears there (left hand side), highlight it
    2. Go to Tab ìPartitionî, click either ìDeleteî or ìPartitionî, if fails, skip this step and go to 3
    3. Go to Tab ìEraseî , choose Volume Format as ìMAC OS Extended (Journaled), and click Erase, again if fails, skip it and go to 4
    4. Same as step 3, but open the ìSecurity Options....î and choose ìZero Out Dataî before click Erase. It will take 1 to 2 hours to complete.
    5. Eject your iPod and do a Reset
    6. Open the iTunes 7 and click ìRestoreî
It managed to complete the Restore process, and started to sync with the iTunes. However, it got stuck at the song no.238 from the total of 2000. I left it for an hour, but with no process, instead the iPod became ìHotî and the iTunes showed an Error message of 1428. I ejected the iPod from my Mac computer, the iPodís screen turn to show the famous killer icon;ìThe Sad iPodì.
This time it was totally dead, even failed to put it into Disk Mode and non of the computer could recognize it. Sigh, I hated to do it but I knew that I must did the following:-
Holding the iPod in my Palm, and hitting it on a surface of a Sofa with 5 attempts.
Did not surprise me, the iPod turned on and it showed the Language Menu on the screen. So, I put it into Disk Mode and connected with my window PC.
The PC showed a sign and indicated that an USB device had been connected with it. I opened the iTunes and did a Restore there.
However, an Error Message 50 showed up, but I were not worried about it, connected it back with my Mac computer with it in Disk Mode. As expected the iTunes opened and allowed me to do a Restore there.
This time it managed to complete the process and a window of register pop up. After the completed the process, the iPod started to sync with the iTunes again, which finally managed to complete the process.
I left it connecting with the AC charger overnight. In the next morning, I switched it on and have a play with it, I am so glad as it is working like a charm.
From the above experience, I would like to share it with the user the following:-
    1. It always better to charge with an ac charger instead of the computer, as when an iPod carrying with very low battery, it may not able to get charge from a computer
    2. Try to connect the iPod with a computer, switching between USB and Firewire
    3. Try to format an iPod with HD problem, with a different kind of computer e.g. Mac or PC, as the formats are totally different, the way it formats may able to solve the bad sectors on the HD
    4. It may get better chance to get your iPod recognized, if you put it in Disk Mode
I hope the following works in your case as I did.

  • My Ipod Won't Turn On, No Matter What!?!?

    Please Help:
Recently I downloaded the new Itunes(Itunes 7). After downloading it I was prompted to upgrade my Ipod (30g Video) to the new system (1.2). Almost immediatly after finishing this download my Ipod turned off, and is now frozen and will not turn on. Also, my computer doesn't recognize when my Ipod is plugged in, nor does the "Do not disconnect" screen come up, my Ipod stays blank. I called Apple they told me that I can send in my Ipod for it to be fixed, but the hard drive on the Ipod will be wiped. I recently bought a new computer and do not have any of my songs in my library, this is over 2000 (2000 + dollars) songs I have bought that I am currently on the verge of losing.
I have tried various USB ports, two different computers, restarting my Ipod, talking to apple technichal support, putting my Ipod into disk mode, manually trying to get the compter to recognize the Ipod through the manager, and smashing on my desk out of anger hoping that something might happen (just kdding). I believe thats everything, any other ideas you have are greatly appreciated. I have tried the 5 r's.
If anybody has any ideas on how can get my computer to recognize the Ipod is plugged in so I can back up all the songs (via my computer, ipod...copy all music files) would be greatly appreciated, that way when I send in my Ipod and then get it back, I can put my songs back on.
    Thank you in advance!

Try uninstalling iTunes 7 and downgrade to iTunes 6, search the forum for the link. Try plugging in your iPod in iTunes 6 and see if it is recognized. If that doesnt work, try getting rid of iTunes completely, and then plug in your iPod and see if it shows up as an external storage device. If it does, copy all your music to your computer so you wont lose it. Don't know what else to try, let us know if it works.

  • IPhone 5c won't turn on no matter what

I was charging my iPhone 5c yesterday on a laptop and clicked on "don't trust this computer". I've done this before using the same laptop but this time my device's screen froze and the light faded a bit til it shut off completely. I turned it on again, but it kept happening every once in a while. I charged it overnight for about 5hours, it was fine til it shut down again and this time I couldn't turn it on anymore. I've tried doing reset and still nothing. I plugged it and held the power and home button til it lit up but no apple logo and it died again. I did the same thing and this time, the logo showed up but only for a second and it died again. What could be wrong I'm worried about my files. It was in the process of backing up. I bought it less than a month ago.

Connect iPhone to known good Wall Charger with known good Lightning Cable for 10 minutes, it may turn ON itself. If still nothing, keep on Wall Charger and Reset, hold both home and power buttons for about 20 seconds until the iPhone begins to respond. If still nothing, the iPhone has failed the most basic of hardware function, it may just need a new battery or could be seriously damaged. The next step is Apple, iPhone 5C has warranty, make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send iPhone to Apple for resolution.

  • Macbook Pro's screen goes black after going to sleep and won't turn on no matter what key I press

Hi there, I just got a new Macbook Pro, it's literally six days old. I just got some new memory installed on it and now the screen frequently stays black after it has gone to sleep for several minutes. No key will reawaken my laptop, though the small light indicating power at the bottom right hand corner of the laptop still glows, making me think the laptop is still on. Is this normal? Is there any way to remedy this?

Read the user manual to make sure you installed the ram correctly.  Put the old ram back in.  Same issue?
If you were not the person that installed the ram, return the computer.
    Call Apple Care.
#1 - You have 14 days from the date of purchase to return your computer with no questions asked.
#2 - You have 90 days of FREE phone tech support.
#3 - If you've purchased an AppleCare Protection Plan, your warranty last for 3 years.   You can obtain AppleCare anytime up to the first year of the purchase of your computer.
Take FULL advantage of your warranty.  Posting on a message board should be done as a last resort and if you are out of warranty or Apple Care has expired.

i have taken the battery out let set for 30 mins and it still wont work!
so i guess now i have to go in to the store and ask them about it and pay for a new one!

    Hi,
Using the USB cable that came with your device, connect your Blackberry to your computer.  Start Blackberry Desktop Manager.  It is possible the software on your device became corrupted, usually from an application that was recently installed.  Using BDM, try to see if you can get your device's software going.

  • Iphone 5 won't turn on no matter what

Hi. I currently have an iphone 5 for 4 months. Yesterday suddenly it was off and didn't do anything. It cannor be the battery because it was fully charged. I tried everything that was suggested on the internet. But still remains the same. What could the problem be? Could it be fixed?

Yes I've also tried that. But nothing happened. The screen remains black. No icon appears, needer the apple logo nor the itunes logo. A friend of mine is going to take it to the U.S. for me. Since I have 1 year guarantee with apple. It seems to be a hardware problem.
