My iTunes shuts down with an Error a lot

When playing from my library iTunes quits every few songs, i noticed it only happens when the old song is playing and u want to turn on something else.
Right now I have to press pause and then play another song, otherwise 1 out of 5 times it will quit the program with an "unexpected error"
This is a brand new MacBook and i just started using iTunes (first time) ...so its not that i messed with any system files (or even settings for that matter)

My iTunes is version 7.0 and Quicktime is version 7.1.3
This is the original account that was set up when I first turned on the computer. There are no other accounts. I noticed the problem right away when I first opened iTunes and started transfering my mp3 library.
Actually now it shuts down all the time! Sometimes in the middle of the song, sometimes when I press pause, sometimes when one song ends and it starts the other one.
I truly makes using iTunes impossible! not to mention the irony that my Windows iTunes was so much more stable ;(
Please help me out.

Put a standard audio CD in your drive and take a look at what is listed by Windows Explorer. You should notice something familiar. Take the CD that iTunes created and put it in a standard CD player. Does it work?

I had the exact same problem. Here is what an Apple Support person told me to do - and it worked like a charm!
Go to your APPLICATIONS Folder. Find a folder within that folder called TOOLBARS. Remove the ENTIRE folder. Once you remove that folder, your Aperture should work perfectly.
There is something in that folder that you don't need that messes with Aperture. Try it. Mine worked perfectly!

Why does most of CS6 shut down with an error message?

I bought CS6 last week and loaded it on to my computer. When I went to use it yesterday the majority of the programs didnt work. Photoshop is opening but illustrator and indesign dont. When I open indesign it opens, gets to the bit where you choose to open a previous document or start a new one then just shuts down and an error message pops up saying indesign had to close suddenly. Im in so deep over my head with all of this. Also im on a mac computer. if that helps. Does anyone have anything that can help me?

You need to be much more specific. What Mac? What version of OSX? Where are your files stored? This could be anything from permissions issues to severe configuration issues somewhere....

ICM7.5 - System is shutting down with a error message

Hi,
I have installed a ICM7.5 SPRAWLER in our Lab.All was working fine until yesterday, when I suddenly started receiving the below error
This system is shutting down. Please save all work in progress and log off.
Any unsaved changes will be lost.
This shutdown was initiated by LOGGERA-9a48f5 services..
Cisco systems. Inc, ICM Node Manager Manager shuting down system. To Cancel shutdown, run the stopshut utility
and the system shutsdown. I have not done any changes to the system.
Do you have any ideas what kind of an error is this and how to resolve this?

You need to check the log files - the .ems files - in the logger directory (maybe la\logfiles). You must use dumplog to examine these.
First look at the nm (Node Manager) log file to see why it is having trouble and which of the processes has errors and cannot be restarted. Then check the offending process. Maybe increase the trace to see your problem.
Maybe the configlogger cannot talk to SQL or something. I think you will see what the problem is quite easily. Maybe you will know how to fix it, but if not, come back here with some trace and ask again.

Satellite P505 S8950 laptop shutting down with bluescreen error message

I bought Toshiba Satellite P505-S8950 model 4 months ago.
I notice my laptop shuts down intermitently while straming videos especiaaly in 'full screen' mode and while using skype with video chat.
My laptop is still under warranty and I have not created any back up since I bought.Now,
Because system is unstable so doing back up now may not be useful.
After every restart I have meesage 'computer has recovered from unexpected shutdown' and upon allowing Windows to find solution nothing comes up.

I have European Satellite P500 almost 2 months now and use it with original preinstalled Win7 home premium 64bit. I use it daily for work and some multimedia activities. I also use Skype almost daily.
Until now I didnt notice any similar problem.
It is not easy to discuss about such problems because none of us know how you have configured preinstalled OS, which applications do you use and if there is some software conflict that can be responsible for this.
Have you installed something that can be responsible for this behaviour?
To be honest I cannot imagine you have had this problem from the first day. Maybe you should install recovery image again using HDD recovery option.
I dont know what kind of back-up do you mean but what you can do is to start recovery DVD creation.

System Shuts Down with no Error in Log

My System will randomly shut down, especially if I am ripping a CD. I am not sure if it is heat as the machine stays pretty cool.
Though since I put in my Old Video Card I keep getting a System Beep during POST (1 long, 3 Short)
According to the Forums that should be a conventianal Memory error, but everything seems to work fine and I dont always get the beeps. I have reseated the RAM and this machine has not had any issues since I built over 18 months ago.
Any thoughts? Could the Memory do this? I was under the impression that Memory Error caused a BSOD not shut down the system, where Heat or Power would cause that?

A book I created in iphoto keeps making the program shut down with an error message...

I created a photo book on my iphoto but have not purchased yet. Now when I open iPhoto and click on the book under 'keepsakes' the program shuts down and says iphoto quit unexpectedly. I have been unable to open the book since I created it. The other book that I have made before opens but for some reason, the program will immediately shut down after I click on it.

It could be that the database entries for that particular book are corrupted. Apply the fix below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
iPhoto 8 (09) and earlier- run the options indicated
iPhoto 9 (11) and later- run Option #4 to rebuild the database

When I go to capture, FCE shuts down with no error message

I upgraded to FCE on both my Macs. One Mac powerbook G4 works fine in capture and writing to video. The other powerbook will shut the program down unexpectedly without error message. I use the same camera for both computers. Can someone help me figure this out.

My SignalExpress launches then shuts down with an error

I have not used the labview in a while and now when I boot my computer I get an nidevmon.exe application failed to initialize properly. Then when I launch signalviewexpress it starts then fails with an error
"COULD NOT START THE APPLICATION PLEASE CONTACT NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS"

error. I first suggest trying some of
the solutions outlined in the KnowledgeBase article: Application Error nidevmon.exe in Traditional
DAQ or DAQmx
If you end up at step G (uninstalling the drivers), I would
recommend using the MSIBlast utility when uninstalling. This will clear any remaining driver
installation files from your PC. Keep

Acrobat shuts down with an error every time I access Password security settings

I wonder if anyone can help me.
I have just bought Acrobat 8.1.2 professional, which I am using on a Windows XP machine.
When I enter the Password Security-Settings dialogue, about 2 seconds later, I get an error message saying that "Acrobat has encountered a problem and needs to close". When I click on "Send" or "Don't send", it then closes.
So I can't password protect my documents.
I experience this with a number of documents (including very, very simple ones), including pdfs I did not create.
I have run "repair" and also completely uninstalled and then reinstalled Acrobat,without success.
Has enyone else experienced this and found a solution?

I have now found a workaround for this! If you set the security settings you want as a security policy, and then apply that policy to your document (rather than trying to set the settings for the indoividual document), it all works fine without crashing.
It will mean that if you create lots of documents, all of which have slightly different security settings, you'll have a long list of policies, but I tend to use only about 2 security set ups, so it's fine for me. Hope it works for you too, L Haen.

Ok, since Windows 7 and iTunes at 64 bit both work there must be another source, either:
- Some form of corruption with the iTunes library - to resolve, hold down shift key while starting iTunes create new library, import Song files and repeat CD import on that library.
or
- 3rd party software intervening - most likely culprits are Windows native and/or 3rd party security software - worth switching these off - restarting Windows and trying again to eliminate each in turn.
In parallel - would suggest you also post issue on iTunes for Windows forum since this is not an iTunes Match issue.

You need to authorize your computer in order to play purchased content from the iTunes Store.
To authorize your Mac, open iTunes and go to Store menu (on the menu bar, at the top of the display) > Authorize this Computer

My itunes keeps shutting down with a windows error everytime i try to convert someting to AAC.

Im having the same issue. It starts up shutsdown and pops up an error has occured message. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it 3 times and even downloaded the Quicktime and ITunes seperately. But the same message appears everytime. I did discover that it was the Quick time messing up though... so uh this might not help but maybe someone else know something about the Quicktime problem.
