My laptop blew up. The hard drive was still good so I put the hard drive into a case and I can access it as a drive via USB. How do I import the bookmarks from the old drive to the new drive?

Not familiar with the Mac file structure either but you can transfer the entire content of your Firefox profile replacing entire content of a firefox profile you created on new HD. For me copying over a few files was out of the question all of the files are updated and I wasn't about to reinstall 150+ extensions and set up configurations for everything and to do that for that 20 profiles and .ini file. Except for 3 most didn't have a lot of extensions but it would be rather impossible.
I copied everything from the Mozilla folder down in the user libraries so all my profiles were set, it did something similar for application libraries.

  • How do I transfer my bookmarks from one computer to another? I have Firefox Home on my phone and I can get them there, but I want to have the same bookmarks on my home computer as I do on my work computer.

How do I transfer my bookmarks from one computer to another? I have Firefox Home on my phone and I can get them there, but I want to have the same bookmarks on my home computer as I do on my work computer. If I have a user name then where do I sign into Firefox, it should be that easy but I can't seem to figure it out.

    Hey susanneyes,
Sounds like you want to set up Firefox Sync. This will allow you to keep all of your instances of Firefox synchronized. Just follow the steps in [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/what-firefox-sync?s=sync&r=0&as=s this article] and you'll be set.
    Hopefully this helps!

Hi, Last time I synced my IPad with my PC, it (unknown to me) migrated all my PC "Favorites" (about 100 folders) to the ICloud.
I have searched and so far been unable to find out how to recover my "Favorites" from the ICloud back to my PC. Any advice would
    be appreciated. Thank you.

What did you do to get them synced to the Cloud.  Would that procedure help me get my favorites synced to my iPad2?

  • How do you transfer reorganized bookmarks from the desk top to a laptop in the same network?

I recently reorganized all my bookmarks into folders on my desktop. When I signed on to Firefox with my laptop the bookmarks were still unorganized. How can I transfer my new organized bookmarks over to my laptop?

    * Backup your DesktopComputer's Bookmarks -> [[Backing up and restoring bookmarks#w_manual-backup|Manual Backup]]
    * Save the '''json''' file on your Desktop & Email it to yourself
    * Download the attached '''json''' file on your Laptop
    * Restore Bookmarks from the '''json''' file -> [[Backing up and restoring bookmarks#w_restoring-from-backups|Restoring from Backups]]
Check and tell if its working.

  • How dow I transfer my bookmarks from my old laptop to my new laptop?

I recently bought a new laptop. I assume because the machine ID is not the same I cannot bring up the Firefox Bookmarks that I had on my previous laptop. Is there a simple way to transfer those URLs?

When doing an upgrade installation, Firefox usually migrates settings automatically for you. However, 3.5 is quite an old version, so I don't know whether it will work on the first try, or whether you might have to upgrade in two steps: first to 3.6, and then to 17.
First, I suggest backing up your entire settings folder so you could restart the process if necessary. This article describes how to get to the folder; you could just make a copy outside the Mozilla path: [[Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles]].
Second, you could export your bookmarks to an HTML file as an extra option. This file, too, should be saved in a safe place. Can you find the export feature in the Organize Bookmarks dialog? (Things may have moved around...)
    Do those steps work?

  • How do I transfer my Favorites from Internet Explorer 9 when I switch over to Firefox ?

My Internet Explorer 9 has been NOT allowing me to send out new emails. No one seems to know how to fix it. So I am thinking of switching over to Firefox. However I have 50 +Favorites stored with IE that I do not want to loose the addresses for. There must be a way to transfer them over to Firefox. How do I do that?

    Hi OsHyde,
You should take a look at the [[Importing bookmarks and other data from other browsers]] Knowledge Base article. There is a lot of information in there that should give you all the help you need to get your bookmarks imported successfully.
    Hopefully this helps!

You don't say what version you are using, but LV6.1 added remote control
    of panels.
If already using LV6.1, look it up in the help and try out the examples.

  • How do i transfer safari bookmarks to new iphone 6 plus

how do i transfer safari bookmarks from an iphone 4s to a new iphone 6 plus?

All you need to do is make a backup of your iPhone 5, either in iCloud or iTunes and then restore your new iPhone 6 to that backup. When you say you are getting this message about Find My iPhone, have you set that up already in the new phone? Importing photos from the iPhone to the computer does not require Find My iPhone, just an import utility on the computer, depending on your computer OS.

  • Can some please provide instructions on how to import an iPhoto library from an old Mac to a new Mac without getting a bunch of duplicates?  I tried transferring my pictures using an external hard drive and then copying it to the Pictures folder on my Mac

Can someone please provide instructions on how to import an iPhoto library from an old Mac to a new Mac without getting a bunch of duplicates?  I tried transferring my pictures using an external hard drive and then copying it to the Pictures folder on my new Mac.  I ended up getting a bunch of duplicates. My old Mac has an older version of iPhoto while the new Mac has iPhoto '11.  Is that the cause of the problem?  Please advise.  Thanks.

Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
    Then launch iPhoto. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.
    Regards

  • I have a seagate 1tb hard drive and a 16gb memory stick, how do i transfer avi files from one to another as the click drag and drop wont work, please help?

i have a seagate 1tb hard drive and a 16gb memory stick, how do i transfer avi files from one to another as the click drag and drop wont work, please help?

    Greetings,
What happens when you drag it?
Make sure the drive you are moving the files to has enough available space to receive the file:
Click on the movie file and go to File >  Get Info and note the "size"
Check the drive to which you are moving the file to make sure it has enough available space: https://idisk.me.com/madisonfile-Public/web/finder-drive-available-space-and-for mat.html
Also note the format of the drive you are copying too.  If it is not Mac OS Extended or FAT (not recommended unless you are taking it to a windows computer) then that may be the issue.
    Hope that helps.

I'm installing windows 7 64-bit on my imac which I've done before but I get a message that the partition is GPT even after I format the bootcamp partition.  I just upgraded my hard drive to a 3tb and I'm allocating 1tb for windows. How can I fix this?

No easy fix for a few reasons:
    1) Bootcamp requires a hybrid MBR for the partition table. That is: both an MBR and a GPT partition table at the same time with the GPT one having all partitions and the MBR one having only the ones that are relevant, but at most 4 of them (including the protective partition and the Macintosh HD one). Which leads us to:
    2) The MBR part of the hybrid partition table cannot work with 3TB hard drives. MBR is limited to 2TB.
I am working on a small EFI app that can boot Windows in EFI mode on a Mac and that would mean that you can go GPT only on your system. The progress of the app is slow due to the nature of EFI and for now requires that you do an unattended Windows install with slipstreamed graphics drivers, but we are adding VGA loading on top of EFI quite soon after the rest of the app stabilises. The status of the app is documented at:
Win7 x64 booting natively via EFI (no bios emulation)
Windows does actually successfully boot in EFI mode on most Macs (anything with a 64bit EFI should work), but does not have graphics support even if you load the driver due to the VGA pci registers not being set by the firmware. Furthermore, in Setup and Safe Mode, Windows uses VGA instead of GOP which is a failure by design since VGA is a BIOS standard and not really compatible without hacks with EFI. Other EFI implementations also add VGA compatibility at a high cost to the firmware complexity for the VGA cards available on the market that don't actually contain anything in their ROM except the VGA BIOS.
    My recomendations:
    1) Install on a second smaller hard-drive; or
    2) Wait for the EFI app to come out officially and use that to boot Windows Vista SP1 x64 and Windows 7 x64 (RTM and SP1) in the native EFI mode.
    3) Wait for Windows 8 which supports VGA-less booting acording to the AMD presentation at UEFI Plugfest.
