My lock screen keeps freezing ios 7.1

Hi guys,
I want to know if I am alone in this issue or if it is widespread?
Since updating my iphone 5 to ios 7.1 my lock screen freezes. Not all the time, mainly if there is a notification of a text etc. I have to turn the phone off and on and it sorts it but it shouldn't be happening surely?
Am I alone in this? My touchscreen was fine until after the update.

Have you tried restarting the phone or reset all settings?

  • My iPod keeps showing the apple logo + a blank screen and the lock screen keeps freezing when trying to unlock it.

Last night I turned my iPod touch 4g off randomly and then when I went to turn it back on and went to unlock the screen it froze up right there and will not unlock to the home screen to where all my apps and all that are. Ever since that happened the iPod keeps showing the apple logo repeatedly, as well as a screen being completely blank when still turned on. Also when i plug in the iPod to the computer it recognizes it for a second but the iPod does nothing and shuts off and repeats in showing the apple logo and blank black screen. I can get it to the home screen where the slide to lock button is but every time i even attempt to slide it, it freezes up and doesn't do it.
I also having been trying to restore it by plugging in the cord and pressing the home button to get the screen with the usb cord to pop up but no matter what i do, it will not let me turn the iPod off period because every time i keep trying to do that it just shows the apple logo and all of what i said up above again. I have also seen it get a white screen to show a few times , which i assume means the white screen of death. I have never seen that screen before this happened.
I know this is not making any sense whatsoever but this is very hard to put into words in explaining. I have searched the internet but i can't find a single problem that sounds like this one in solving to fix it. The iPod is on right now as i'm typing this. I haven't attemtped to push the buttons down again to fix as i would assume maybe to just leave it alone as i sleep through the night in hopes of it maybe working or even dying. I've only had this iPod for 4 months now and i just don't understand why it won't let me turn it off completely or work properly for me to restore it.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My ipad screen keeps freezing and remains stuck. So in the last hour this has happened 3 times after hard "reboots". Can someone explain whats going on? Uwas not downloading anything ..only looking at Facebook.

    Hello, Nina1711.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Try closing all open applications in multitasking and power cycling the device.  Test the responsiveness of the iPad after processing these steps.  If the issue persists, check to make sure you have space available on the iPad in Settings/General/About.  If there is no space available you may want to remove unwanted Apps or media as this can cause the unit to become unresponsive.  If these steps have been processed with the issue persisting, you will need to restore the device.  Make sure to backup the device prior to restoring.

  • Screen Keeps Freezing & Sleep Wake issues

I have a 17" Macbook Pro and the screen keeps freezing.  The computer doesnt freeze because when i depress the volume buttons i can still hear the beeps or when i hit F8 music from my itunes starts to play.
Also,  60% of the time when my computer goes to sleep I get a blank screen when i try to wake it.  When this happens i have to close the screen for about 2 mins until the computer re-falls asleep.  Once this happens I can then wake it up.
any ideas on the causes of these two issues?

Hi, I hope someone can help.... When I open a new user account, which I want to set parental control on, the screen keeps freezing once the account is open. The wee rainbow circle appears and I can't do anything. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks

Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at the top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
Report any errors it found for Disk Repair, don't need the ones for Permissions Repair.
Try it again & see if anything changed, but have Activity Monitor open & Show All Processes & sorted on CPU%, also have Console open if we can... maybe not when switching, but we'll see.
Does this happen if you just try to create a new admin user???

  • Playing movies with locked screen (OS X, iOS)?

Is there a way to make OS X or iOS devices to play movies with the screen locked?
Like this (I first submitted the question in Vision because I also need to be able to have the movies play without video, AND with headphones as the standard "viewing screen" - currently this is not working neither for iPhone or iPad... of course there are a bit more audio narration options when using a full Mac instead)

  • Lock screen picture blurred , ios 7.0.3

I have updated software iOS 7.0.3 , picture on lock screen and pass code screen are blurred . I have turned off phone , waited, turned back on , pressed home and start button together , still the same problem .
Is anyone else having this problem ? Suggestions welcomed

I am getting the same after running the iOS 7.0.4 update. I was fine on 7.0.3. here are the details below.
After running the 7.0.4 update on my original iPad Mini, now the device crashes / reboots randomly when I use it.
I have already tried a complete reset and restore. I redownloaded 7.0.4 using iTunes, setup as new but it is still happening.

  • Screen Keeps Freezing very Frustrating

    Hello,
This is my first time using a forum, from what I have read in other postings, this seems to be the best place to start. I recently had a computer built at a local shop who said they could build me a system with all the bells and whistles I wanted including the ability to watch and record TV. "I was tired of buying off the shelf and Happy with my decision so far" Well, they did except for one problem with the TV@nywhere Master series Card. To defend them they really have done just about everything to get it to work. So I thought I  would  see If I could find a solution before I have to call them back to fix it and suffer through a detox period without my computer .
I recently received the computer back from the shop and was watching TV when the problem started again.  The problem description is as follows: The  TV screen seems to lock up or freeze  on the monitor and you can still hear the sound even after you force it to shut down; sometimes the  TV picture freezes and does not go away. In order to watch TV you have to reboot and sometimes it locks the whole computer requiring a cold boot. At other times it will freeze again while adjusting the settings, as you can see this very frustrating. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you,

    ASUS P4p800DX MotherBoard
    Intel 865PE Chipset
MSI TV@nywhere Master8606-020(bundled software MSIPVS Intervid)

    512MB RAM
    OS XP

I agree. I followed some of the links and there is a wealth of information out there. The trick however is to translate that information into something a non-engineer can understand and then apply it to specific troubleshooting actions to isolate the problem to specific components without having to reinvent wheel and sell car to finance the troubleshooting.
Ron, here is what I did, with some recommendations (I would appreciate if the engineers in the crowd correct me if I wander off into uncertain territory):
    1. Recommendation: Return the card and get your money back . Read the GlennVidia's signature and buy another video card. If you can't do that or are stubborn enough to want to fix the problem, warning!, you may dig yourself into a hole and end up far away from your original problem. Get yourself a beer and forget about the rest of this post.
    2. My first goal in troubleshooting this problem was to try to determine if this was a hardware or software problem. Not necessarily to identify the specific component, but at a very high level to identify the likelihood of the cause being one or the other.
In order to do this you need to create a base line testing environment. Simply power off the computer, power on and reboot. Shutdown all non-essential applications. This should reduce any excess baggage from influencing your tests. I assume that this non-stressed cruising state of the computer is how the tuner card is typically used. I do not expect that anyone would be stressing their computer by watching TV and playing Halo at the same time.
    3. If you want to get right to the crux of the matter go to step 4. If you want to see more of what is happening when you run MSIPVS proceed.
There are a number of computer resource monitoring programs available. I use the Motherboard Monitor available at http://mbm.livewiredev.com/. If you install this, you can monitor your processor usage, temperatures, and voltages.
Since most of the work (video decoding) is being done by the tuner, and all we are dealing with is video streaming to the video card, and audio transferred directly to sound card, I would not expect the processor to be overly taxed. You are not using any installed modem, CD drive, floppy drive, the hard drives may in fact have stopped spinning, etc. during the test, so power usage should be at minimum. On my computer the 2.4 GHz Intel processor cruises at about 90% idle when I am running MSIPVS. This does not cause much of a temperature change in the processor or the case temperature which cruises at about 16 degrees C. This doesn't say anything about the temperature of the tuner card and power supply though. The voltages that are shown, I think, are the processor voltages and not the PCI voltages and it may not be accurate to make any inferences here (help me here guys} but my +3.3 voltage cruises at 3.25 V and my +5.00 at 4.89. The most I have seen this varying is + or - .02 even when more resources are being used on the computer. I do not see any unusual fluctuations at or around the time that MSIPVS freezes. This shouldn't be to surprising since almost all of the peripherals are in a stopped state. The system should not be stressed. I have an Antec True Power 380. OK, good brand name, but on first inspection maybe 550 might be better. But then 550 would always be better than 380, but not necessarily the cause of the problem.
    4. Here is where we hit the pavement. To prove that hardware is not the problem, all we have to do is get one TV tuner program, to work even under stress, without fail for a reasonable period of time. I mean, we're still using the same power supply, memory, and tuner card, and if they are at fault we should find similar symptoms using other programs. There is a good thread started by Tveith,  "Software That Works with TV @nywhere". Ron, try some of the other programs. What I found was that the Intervideo programs, WinDvr3 and Home Theatre, had the same symptoms (freezing picture, wouldn't shut down properly). So here we have same hardware, using same WDM driver, application written by same company (MSIPVS is WinDvr 2), same symptoms. Coincidence? Use any other program on TVeith's list, except DScaler, and you have same hardware, using same WDM driver, and no freezing of picture. OK so maybe its Intervideo code related.
Don't do this at home, DScaler currently corrupts the tuner card EEPROM! I have used DScaler, same hardware, bypasses WDM drivers, no Intervideo code, and have never, ever, had it freeze on me. I have run it continuously for days without freeze up, while stressing the machine running other programs in foreground.
On my machine at least, that strongly suggests that the hardware is not the cause of this problem. Ron, if you try some of these options please post your results.
