have erased my ipod as i am selling it on. I wanted to check all my stuff (pictures, notes ect) had been erased, but everytime i plug my Ipod into the computer it isnt recognized. it says plug into Itunes, and i have. Nothing happens. what do i do? HELP
Start here:

It connected the first day and I was able to upload some video; however, I pulled the USB out--there was a bad message--and I cannot get the mac to register that I plug it back in.
Have you downloaded everything that is on the camera? If so format the SD card on the camera (will erase everything on the card).
If you have not downloaded everything can you see stuff on the camera? If you have a card reader you could try putting the SD card in that and trying on the mini. If your mini has a SD card slot you could try that.
In any case format the card on the camera before taking more pics.
Next time be sure to eject the camera from the Mac properly and turn the camera off before disconnecting.
EDIT: You might also check the camera's USB Mode is set to PC. -
My mac isnt recognizing my printer after new modem installed
We got a new modem and now my mac doesnt recognize my HP Envy 4500 wireless printer. I have reinstalled the printer several times and it works for about 2 min then it says offline. Even when I reinstall it doesnt appear on the list of available printers and I have to use the set up wizard for my computer to find it. I have done all the mac updates and have all the right drivers. Our non mac computers still work fine and mine did too until the new modem. Any suggestions?

Please take a look through this post, Re: Install Error "The system cannot find the file specified" (hpzprl40.exe). (Even though it's for Windows 8 and a different printer these steps will work for you as well).

I recently got an iphone 5s and i was trying to port my stuff with my iphone 4 before i went to go get the 5s and i had a problem my itunes wasnt sensing the phone so i got back thinking that the 5s would maybe get sensed and the only thing sensing my iphone is my computer. Itunes doesnt even bring up my phone at all. i restarted my iphone and i restarted my computer i also reinstalled itunes and nothing has worked. please help.

Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

I'm running V10.6.8 and the system is not recognizing the presence of a San Disc (SDHC) adapter that I plug into the left side of the keyboard. This always worked in the past. Whats changed? I can't upload my images to a folder.
Another item I'd found when getting an SD card for an older camera was the lack of backward support from the SD card if it was too new, while a newer camera can sometimes use an older SD card at a slower read-write speed. There are limits and ceilings on what kind of card works with old/new stuff.
So I ended up taking a nice SD card back to one store and had to settle on a 'walmart kinda dubious kingston two pack a cure' for the older Panasonic Lumix. Smaller capacity but seems to work OK for the era. I don't trust kingston with macs, but this 10 y/o Lumix seems to not care about that.
Hopefully you can obtain the correct cards, because some stores only sell parts for their inventory of cameras. And some adapters are limited too.
Depending on what I'm doing with the card and the camera it goes with, I attach the camera to the computer and not just the card in a reader. That way I can file items inside the camera SD card in a way the camera won't overwrite them. Later when I save everything from the card into an external hard disk drive, all my filed folders of images by date (I created in the SD) appear in order, in the later archive. Easier too, when I burn to DVD or CD media, to create yet another archive away from the computer or the camera.

Okay, so I got Apple to restore my whole Mac operating system, and it obviously reset all my settings and computer to factory settings. As I now have an iPhone 5 and wanting to backup my iPhone 4, I can't do this as my Mac does not have any recorded backup's from before as they were deleted in the restoration. So i want to plug my iPhone 4 in to back it up. The main question is if I plug my iPhone 4 in, will it erase everything? and if so, how do i prevent this from happening as I have very important data on my iPhone 4 i can't lose.

Georgia!Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

If you have Find My iPhone enabled, you can use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased. -
Hi my iPhone 4 won't turn on . When plugged in on several different chargers the following happens . Blank screen then apple sign for a short period then it buzzes and goes blank. Have tried power button and home button but no change ,When connected to mac get message that phone is in recovery mode and that i must restore this phone before it can be used with iTunes . Is this my last resort as I have some photoessays I don't want to loose.

About 2 weeks ago my iPod told me that something (I forget what now) was corrupt and my iPod had to be restored to factory settings, so I did that. Before I had a chance to resync my iPod, my harddrive in my MacBook Pro crashed and had to be replaced. Now when I try connecting my iPod classic, my iPod says "do not disconnect" but neither my laptop or iTunes is recognizing that my iPod is plugged in. I have tried using another cord, restarting my iPod, restarting my laptop, iTunes is up to date...what else is there that I can do to get my iPod to connect to my laptop?

my iMac keeps typing a minus sign. I switched my wireless keyboard for a plug in Windows keyboard, and it keeps typing this one character. I took the batteries out of the Mac keyboard, so that is not the problem. I am running Mac OS X 10.6.8. In parallels, I don't have any problem, just on the Mac platform.

Upgrading OSX 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) to 10.8.3 (Mountain Lion) is not an update. It is a paid upgrade. Just as with 10.7 (Lion) you must purchase it from the App Store with yor Apple ID and install it after backing up your current computer state for safety.
