  • Mac Pro won't charge!!

I have a MacBook Pro mid 2009 and it won't charge, it used to only charge when the computer was closed but now it won't work at all!! Anybody know a solution to this issue? (Btw I still have the original charger that came with the computer)

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Have you tried to reset the SMC? > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
Also, when you try to charge the battery, does the charger light turn on? If not, it may indicate a problem with the charger. Apart from that, open the "System Information" or "System Profiler" app (in /Applications/Utilities), select "Power" in the sidebar and copy here "Charge Information" and "Health Information" to know more about the battery

  • IPhone 5 says fully charged, even though its only at 34%?

My original iPhone 5 charger broke. An internal wire had split, so I purchased a new charger. It was working fine (from flat battery to 34%) and then it stopped and showed the fully charged icon (the little plug image inside the battery in the top right). I did a hard reset and tried a different plug socket, but to no avail. Unfortunately, I don't have another charger to try it on. So I was hoping you guys can help me out with some suggestions. Thank you :)

Where did you get the 'new charger'? Is it an Apple charger, or 3rd party?
The obvious advice is to try a different charger. Plug it into the USB on your computer. Try to charge it from there.
If it doesn't work with a known good charger, make an appointment at the genius bar and get it serviced. It's still under warranty (as was the original charger that you replaced).

  • My 8500a pro won't print even though it says printing. i have to turn it off and then on again.

I have to turn it off and on again to get it to print.

Try upgrading the product firmware following the below steps:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-89897-4&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...
Apart from that, if you are using Wifi connection, try selecting IPv4 connectivity.
To do that, you can go to the printer ip address from your PC browser (http://xxx.xxx.x.xxx)
Select the Network tab> Network Protocols> Enable IPv4 Only.
Some times, the network environment is contributes to unstability. Above mode at times does help resolve this issue.
    I work for HP.

You will find links on that page to various models, look for the specific Macbook you have.

  • My Mac book pro won't charge. But the connector is plugged in and shows that its charging but it says it has 0% but if I unplug it it will shut off

My Mac book pro won't charge. But the connector is plugged in and shows that its charging but it says it has 0% but if I unplug it it will shut off. It's been like this all day but I didn't notice till I turned it on.

It's either a power adapter issue (not likely) or (more likely) a power supply problem on your MBP. Take the machine into your local Apple Store or an AASP and have them diagnose the problem.
    Good luck,

  • Iphone 4 just turned itself off, won't turn on again - sleep/wake button hasn't worked for a while - tried charging (even though it was 50% charged when it shut down) and that makes no difference....tried usb to computer and directo to wall socket. help?

phone 4 just turned itself off, won't turn on again - sleep/wake button hasn't worked for a while - tried charging (even though it was 50% charged when it shut down) and that makes no difference....either via usb to computer and direct to wall socket. Any suggestions...other than heading off to the genius bar tomorrow?

Well, the sleep/wake button is also the power button. If you cannot use it to turn on, then you cannot use it to perform a reset by holding it and the home button together until you see the Apple logo. Those are the only two ways to turn the device on. You can try letting the battery go completely dead and then trying to plug it in. After it has charged for 20-30 minutes, the device may come back on. But, without the sleep/wake button, there is no other way to turn the device on or off.

  • Went on my vacation, brought my macbookpro, got home, mac pro won't acknowledge photos.  Why?

Wife uses the macbookpro mostly with her iphone.  However, they are my photos on my phone, and all computers are mine, so why in any case because I have synced with another computer with also uses another iphone, that my personal mac pro won't acknowledge the photos that originated from my phone.  Photos shouldn't be subject to copyright like music purchases.  If I decide to share my photos with another mac (which also happens to be my macbookpro that my wife uses), there shouldn't be anything applied to the photos I've taken with my personal iphone once it is plugged into my other mac.  They're my photos regardless and originated from my iphone, so my mac pro should never block these photos from me in iphoto.
    Summary:
I go on vacation with my macbookpro.
I take photos with my iphone.  I put them in my macbookpro while on vacation.
I get home.  I try to put the photos on my macpro.  Not only am I not allowed, I can't even see the photos in iphone via my plugged in iphone.  They are hidden when plugged into my macpro.
Why don't I have access to MY OWN PHOTOS when I have spent well over 50,000 dollars in Apple products?
To fix this I had to export the photos from the macbookpro to a USB and manually add them to my mac pro.  Alternatively I could plug in my iphone to my windows computer and access all the files via a folder search.

Another way to look at this which imo also applies.
I go on vacation with friend.  I take photos with my iphone.  I sync some of the photos to his iphoto on his macbook.  I get home.
I can no longer see those photos, which I took, using my own iphoto sync on my mac.  They don't show up anywhere with preview or image capture (remembered name).  Just because I gave my friend some of my photos, doesn't mean a lock should be applied that doesn't allow me to sync those photos via iphoto on my own mac.  Doesn't this make sense?  Why is this happening?

  • HT1498 My rented movie won't play, even though it shows "rented".  What gives?

My rented movie won't play, even though it shows "rented".  What gives?

I have a similar issue.  My Dell Latitude is running Windows Pro 8.1 and iTunes 11.1.3.8.  It looks like it's playing, but it isn't.
Things seemed to work fine before the 8.1 update.  I fear I will have to rollback to 8.0 because the sound no longer works on the computer unless you use the headphone jack.
Podcasts and music behave the same way, they appear to be playing, but the timer is not progressing for them either.
This may be the combination of 8.1 and 11.1.3.8

  • My macbook pro won't charge due to an electric shock

My macbook pro won't charge due to an electric shock that was caused from a charger that was in a bad condition, the computer didn't turn off when it happened but it stopped charging. When the battery died it refused to charge with any charger, I even bought 2 new ones. I sent it to apple and they are asking $650 for fixing it! The problem is that the macbook is only a year and a half old and I live abroad where there is no apple branches or any of that. I had to send it to the USA first. Also, I might lose everything saved on the macbook after fixing it! Any solutions? please help!

  • My mac won't charge when it is plugged in and.....

my mac won't charge when it is plugged in and also sometimes seems to over heat. can someone help me anyone eles have this problem, i chose to buy a mac over a pc because they are not supposed to have any problrms.

It's still on warranty then.  Just head on down to your local Apple Store, with your charger.  You could have a bad power supply in the MBP.  Or a bad charger.  Either way, they'll get fixed for free.
But before you do anything, just try a couple of things that might help, though no guarantee.

This makes no sense. I can go online to various "photo shop" place and regardless of the OS and computer I am working from I can order a photo album so why can I no longer do this through iPhoto on my MAC?
How do I order my album now? If somebody could please explain as I am going home in 1 month and really wanted to surprise my aging parents with this book.

  • Mac Pro won't network after 10.5.8 combo update

I just ran the 10.5.8 combo updater and since then my Mac Pro won't connect to my home network. It accesses the internet just fine, but I cannot connect wirelessly to my Macbook or my wifi printer anymore. My Macbook which is still on 10.4.11 can connect to the wifi printer and the internet, but cannot connect to my Mac Pro anymore. I've seen posts about pulling ktxt files out of the 10.5.7 updater, but that doesn't seem to address my issue. Any ideas? Thanks

With only one cartridge light blinking I would suspect the cartridge, they do rarely fail (much more often for reman cartridges, see here).  Clean the cartridge contascts as shown here.  If that fails and the cartridge is an original HP then check the warranty date as shown here.  If the cartridge is in warranty return it to your dealer for a warranty replacement.
The printer will automatically switch to backup mode if the black (or color in some printers) cartridge is removed.  I do not know if this works with the PSC 1510, some all-in-on devices insist on having both cartridges present.
