My mac wont turn on. It is charging and the on light is on when the computer is shut but once I open it the light turns off and the screen is black. I turn it off and then on again and the start up noise goes but it is still black - Help!?

Claire, please post your machine specs as requested. There are some variants of the MBP with specific hardware issues. Example: the older "silver key" MBPs with 2.2Ghz and faster processors can have a defective video chipset that produces a black screen or distorted video. That problem is covered under an Apple program that will fix this at no cost to you if you computer is that model.
Do "About this Mac" from your Apple menu and, in the resulting window, click the "More Info..." button. That launches System Profiler for you. The first screen looks like this:
The second line, "Model Identifier" (or "Machine Model" if you are running OS10.4) precisely identifies your MBP variant. Post that, and include it in your equipment info in your profile for future posts. That means people don't have to ask, and you get faster help that is targeted to your specific model. Saves everybody a bunch of keystrokes and you get better advice.

Yes. Yu have to just ensure that the iPod is signed into the iTunes account(s) that purchased the apps and other stuff and you have iTunes et up to sync the stuff to the iPod. You will loose however, any app data you have.

Try going to settings/general/reset/reset network settings and do that

Try a reset by pressing and holding the home and power buttons for 15-20 seconds.
If it still does not boot up properly, put the device in DFU mode (google it) and restore.

If you are using XP, and you went through the procedure at the bottom of the previously linked document to change the iPod's assigned drive letter, and you also tried putting it into Disk Mode...
If you have not already, try shutting down your computer and disconnecting all USB devices, including hub. Start up with only standard keyboard and mouse connected. Just to be safe, put the iPod into Disk Mode again

Run iTunes. Connect iPod to a direct USB port on computer. iTunes may prompt you about "recovery" and ask you to do a Restore. Try to do a Restore again.

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Home sharing is on, but library does not show up under sharing. Turned off then on again and home sharing shows up and the disappears when I click done. What am I doing wrong???

Home sharing can't connect on my computer. It will recognize a library on one computer but not another. Tried turning it off and then on and got nothing. Tried switching to a different apple I'd and got nothing. I have the latest version of I tunes. What am I missing? What am I doing wrong? Can anyone help?

to make things a little more easy, i'd perfer to have all my itunes on a network drive for all pc's connected to one itunes and scratch the home sharing itunes to view under another itunes.

My Macbook wont turn on, it gets pasted the White Apple screen then goes to a Blue screen that quickly turns a slightly darker shade of blue with the familiar loading icon then back again and does this over and over. What should I do? please help!

So today my iPhone decides to go into recovery mode on me randomly so I plugged it into my Macbook right away, but it wasn't showing up in iTunes so I did a quick internet search as to why that could be. On the Mac support forum I found instructions stating I should make sure I had the current verison of iTunes on my computer, turns out I had been putting off an Update because I didn't like waiting for it to restart n so forth. So I clicked my boucning update friend at the bottom of my screen and it started checking for updates, the bar got maybe a quarter of the way up and then stopped moving all together, I thought something was wrong so I clicked cancel and tried again. The same thing happened so I clicked cancel and went back to the Internet to find more help on my problems. I found yet another forum saying this solution was simple, restart the computer. So i clicked my little apple at the top and pressed restart and that has been the last thing I got to do on my computer because when it restarted it got past the White Apple logo screen and went on to a Blue screen which quickly turned a darker shade and had the loading circle, then back to the previous blue screen, then right back to the darker one. This process it repeated several times and I can't for the life of me figure out what to do. Please someone have a simple answer to this that I haven't Already tried, I have already tried safe mode and it just doesn't work for me. Please please help I need my computer for class it has all my notes and a paper I was doing, not to mention my iphone is still in recovery mode, even when I can get to another computer to fix that I need all the back up files off of my macbook to restore it to what I know it as and not default.

Screen automatically darkens, the flashes then darkens again and stays dark for a while and vice versa.....can anyone help or do I need to send it in for a check?

Hi, please would some one help? My screen, usually after I have moved my macbook pro, suddenly darkens and the lightens and flashes beteen the two sometimes for long periods of time...I've tried to calibrate and turn off the ambient lighting adjustment but this doesn't help as the screen remains darkened. Is this a solvable problem or should I send it in for repair?

Just to rule out any hardware issues, run the Apple Hardware Test.

The problem I'm having is that in my native IE10, when I navigate to the website that is redirected, the ThinDirect redirect window comes up, the virtual IE8 launches, but it also opens to the ThinDirect site and then IE8 closes!?
Other issues I have resolved to just get to this point:
1) Enabling the GPO setting for my native IE10 to enable third party browser extensions.
2) I have to manually insert the ThinDirectLauncher64.exe file into the ThinDirect folder C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware ThinApp\ThinDirect (Still have not figured out why the 64.exe is not applying into the ThinDirect package correctly)

My iPhone turns off when on the charger. I've tried the computer usb port and wall charger. Whenever I put it on the charger it powers off completely and attempts to turn back on but fails, then tries again and fails again, etc... solution?

I can turn it back on but when it's on the charger it just soon turns off again. Not sure if the new update is the cause of this or not. Any solutions?
