Even a four-year-old MacBook should have come with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. Leopard can run the latest version of iTunes; it will download and install pretty much automatically if you run Software Update.
You might first have to be sure that you are running the latest version of Leopard, which is 10.5.8. This, too, will download and install for you if you run Software Update. Just keep running Software Update until there is nothing left to download and install (you might have to run it more than once because some updates require previous updates to be installed first).
If you have a version of Mac OS X earlier than 10.5, then you can't run the latest version of iTunes. You will need to buy a more recent version of Mac OS X. You must be running at least 10.4 Tiger, and you can upgrade directly to Snow Leopard from Tiger. Apple still sells Snow Leopard for about $30 and you might find it slightly less at a retailer or on eBay. After upgrading to Snow Leopard, you will be able to upgrade to Lion using the Mac App Store for another $30 or so if your MacBook meets the minimum system requirements.

Save all the photos from your Droid into a folder on your computer.
Connect your device to your computer. On iTunes left Pane, select iPhone under 'Devices'; then on the right Pane, select PHOTO tab. Make sure Sync Photo box is checked, and "from" box selected the folder that has Droid's photos. Then click the SYNC or APPLY button on the lower right window.

Thanks for the useful feedback, Knucklesmac. I agree. I must have blown something on the logic board -- because I had a faulty old KVM switch that would not switch between computers without some nasty hot-plugging/unplugging the VGA video cables. (wince!). It's like when Dizzy Dean ruined his arm because a line drive hit him in the foot and he readjusted his mechanics around the injury. I take the blame because this has been a great computer, and does not deserve any blame.

The price range is $75-$85, which doesn't make horse sense to me for such an old computer -- which has a lot of life in it anyway, because its own 15" monitor is not chopped liver.

I installed Lion 10.7.4. Went to use Photoshop Cs and got a popup window. You can't open the application Adobe Photoshop CS because PowerPC applications are no longer supported. Is there a way of getting this to work or do I have to get the all new!

PowerPC applications are unsupported in newer versions. You can upgrade Photoshop or you can install Snow Leopard in a partition.
1. Open Disk Utility (Applications > Utilities) and select your drive
2. Go to Partitions tab, press + button, create a new partition and press Apply
3. Insert the Snow Leopard install DVD and reboot pressing C key
4. Install it in the new partition
5. If you want to change boot, go to System Preferences > Startup Disk and select 10.7

It would not work anyway. The activation servers have been retired and Adobe has provided a new CS2 download along with a new serial number for CS2 owners.

Check in your iTunes folder on your computer to find the files. If they are there, then drag on top of iTunes to import them in. If they are not there, then report the issue to the iTunes Store.

If they are on the iPod there are third-party programs that will transfer then to a computer. See:

If you failed to maintain a backup copy, then you would have to import the disks again.

I don't think the password will matter, because you can't use anything on the iPod or in iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to computer (except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store). However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer. If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
The simple software "lock" used on iPods should not prevent you from off-loading the song files. Once the song files are on your computer, you can add them to your iTunes library. Then, you can do a Restore on the iPod to give it a fresh start and sync it (and the iPod touch) as desired.
NOTE: For songs purchased by you from the iTunes Store, you can also re-download them to your computer at no cost, from the iTunes Store Purchased screen. The link to Purchased is on the iTunes Store Home screen, under QUICK LINKS.

The method used in that post works perfect on both Android and iOS for selecting and uploading files.... BUT is there a way to get the filename of the file from the mediaPromise cross-plattform?
If you let the user select an image it's not very nice to have the image be called "temp.jpg" after uploading - you want the user to know which image he/her have uploaded
Any ideas? The "mediaPromise.file.relativePath()" works on Android but not on iOS. Not "mediaPromise["file"].url/relativePath/nativePath" either.

Hey Joe what do you think of this solution.
1. Let the user select the image
2. Store the mediaPromise object in an array (event.data) for later use
3. Load in the object using loadMediaPremise
4. Add the loaded image into a movieclip (not visible from the scene)
5. Resize that movieclip to let's say 100x100
6. Use the BitmapData class to create a new bitmap from that movieclip and save it to storage
7. Use the saved file within the app as a thumbail
8. Use the mediaPromise object stored in the array later when the user wants to upload the images (then go through mediaPromise.open() on each image -> save to storage -> upload -> clear from storage -> loop).
I haven't tried it yet (will do this week) but should that be a acceptable solution to the problem(?)
I'm unsure if by just keeping the mediaPromise object within Flash will make the memory run wild though?

I am using a JAXP SAX xml parser and am looking for a way to get the actual line of xml that is being parsed from within a content handler.
Here's my scenario. Consider the following example xml document.

</formCollection>My hope is to validate the entire document and then insert an xml string containing each "form" element (and its sub-elements) into a map for later use. My thought was to create a String as each "form" element is being parsed (begining with the form's startElement event and concatenating until the form's endElement event is reached) and then inserting this string into the map. Is there a way to get the actual line of xml that is being parsed, rather than just the element name and attribute values?

For instance, let's say that from the File -> New menu there are options for seven different types of forms and each form is used to send completely different data. The user can select form1, select form1 again, select form4, and select form7 (or any other combination) and bring up tabs that display the different forms. The user can then enter data and submit each form separately. When the user selects File -> New -> FormX, a SWT ScrolledForm object that corresponds with FormX must be given to the display. Because SWT ScrolledForm objects do not allow a deep copy, I cannot simply read the XML <form> elements at initialization, parse them into ScrolledForm objects, and pass deep copies of the ScrolledForm objects to the display each time the user clicks File -> New -> FormX. The only simple way I see of getting a new copy of a ScrolledForm object is to reparse the appropriate XML <form> element in order to create one each time the user selects File -> New -> FormX. As such, one handler would need to read the entire XML document and parse the <form> elements into a map (or some other data structure) and another handler would need to parse individual <form> elements into SWT ScrolledForm objects. The first handler would be called at initialization and the second handler would be called each time a user clicked on File -> New -> FormX. Once again, this isn't exactly my favorite implementation... but seems the simplest given that there is no way to do a deep copy of an SWT ScrolledForm object. Hopefully that makes a little more sense. No worries if it doesn't -- I just figured I'd throw this out there and see if anyone had a better idea.
