I jus twent to apple store to get my mac repaired from a update melt down so the yrebooted it and the ilife has gone that came free with it how do i get it back?

My MacBook Pro has lost it's connection to my home wifi. I made no changes to my Mac or router it just would not pick up the signal when I turned it on one day. Wifi works fine for other laptops and iPhone, and laptop is picking up other wifi signals. I have tried suggestions here such as resetting PRAM etc but can't seem to find posts with same problem
No. I see other networks but not mine. And when I try to type it in manually it says 'connection timed out'

Probably the display or the graphic card are damaged. As it's a hardware problem, take your computer to an Apple Store or reseller to get the computer diagnosed and repaired if needed -
MacBook pro has grey screen of death, it all began when I tried to install something new last night like my laptop asked and when it went to restart, it went grey....
tried start up in safe mode and nvram/pram
on safe mode it said ' the volume macintosh hd could not be repaired '
My MacBook has not been backed up and it would be heart breaking if I lost everything from it...

It's obvious that you need a new drive - when you purchase one you should also purchase a USB enclosure for your old drive and connect that drive to your machine to see if you can rescue any data from it. You may have to purchase a utility such as Data Rescue 3 or DiskWarrior (each $100) to facilitate restoring some of your data.
And start a couple of backup schemes... when you can't afford to lose data, a couple of backup schemes can help.

Macbook pro has slowed considerably and spinning beach ball appears lots
My Macbook pro has slowed considerably and spinning beach ball appears lots recently.
After I installed 10.5.7 it started happening. When I open anything including system prefs and apple apps the ball appears. I'm on 10.5.8 and it seems to be either as slow or slower. Startup is a bit faster now, but it'll go to the beach ball before I even do anything remotely intensive on the system.
My computer is almost 3 years old but I don't install any weird software on it and have 30% of my system disk free. I'm an audio guy and use logic, pro tools and generally keep my computer clean.
I've tried starting another user account to check if its my original user that has the issue, but thats just as slow too.

Oh yeah, I repaired disk permissions too but it hasn't seemed to have changed anythingThanks for the reply Dale.
I have just tried that and Disk Utility said my MAc HD appears to be ok....????
So I don't really understand what else I can do...
I tried using Onyx a couple of months ago but it seemed to make things worse and more temperamental.
If there is a next level of solutions I could try it would be much appreciated.

A clean install on my MacBook Pro has left me with my icons stuck in the grid on the right side of my desktop. I had the ability to move them and have them stay put in various sectors of the desktop, which I found very useful. The clean install upgraded the OS to 10.6.8 from 10.5.8. I want to move them again but there I see no 'None' option which I think would free them to move where I wish. Has the upgrade deleted that option? Suggestions? I am new to this community and if not new to Mac, I often feel that way. This is one of those times.
Julz11 in NYCI have the same problem on the latest iTunes software and Windows 7. My window is maximzed and I do not see any tab for photos. Seems related to a recent update (IOS7?) as this was there - at least before the very big change to the interface.

Turn off Find My iPhone in iCloud on the iDevice.
Log out of iMessage, Facetime, remove Apple ID from iTunes & App Store.
Use Settings > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
Then set it up as a new iPhone with your own Apple ID.
