My macbook pro says connection lost when I try to connect to my wifi.

I cannot connect to my wifi at home via wireless. It only works if I'm connected via ethernet cable. When I would attempt to connect to my wifi, it says connection lost. Does anybody have a solution? (not sure if this is helpful or not, but is says no network selected)

Airport on Macbook Pro says connected to network but there's no Internet

I have a relatively new unibody Macbook Pro. I used to be at school where my Airport worked perfectly but now that I've set up my own router in my apartment it doesn't seem to connect properly. I'm using a Belkin N+ router and my roommate's PC works fine connected wirelessly to the router. I've reprogrammed it once but can't figure out the problem and I don't want to be connected the entire time through the ethernet cable which works as long as I disable the Airport.
Any help would be appreciated

My guess is that there is configuration setting, specific for the AirPort, that is conflicting with the Belkin router. When you created a new user profile, it used a default configuration that was allowed it to connect.
I would further venture to say that it may likely be a particular setting that got you access to the school's network that is causing the conflict.
Ok, to try to resolve it so that you can go back to use your original profile, we will want to first try to clean up any saved Preferred Network in that profile. So, log-off the new user profile, and then, log back on with your original profile.
Using System Preferences, we will want to first delete all of your saved Preferred Networks. (ref: System Preferences > Network > AirPort > Advanced > AirPort) Delete all of the Preferred Networks entries, and then, click on OK.
We also want to remove any saved keychain entires for AirPort connections in the OS X Keychain. You would do this with the Keychain Access utility that you will find in the \Applications\Utilities directory on your Mac.
In the Keychain Access, look for entries with the Kind of "AirPort Network Password." These may have different titles when connecting to non-AirPort routers. Regardless, these would be the saved credentials (network name & password) that you would have entered when attempting to connect to a wireless router with your MBP's AirPort. These entries were created when you responded with "Yes" when you asked if you wanted to save to the Keychain.
When done removing the entries; log-off, and then, log back on with your original user account ... and then try accessing the Belkin's wireless network with your MBP again.

I just downloaded Maverick on my Macbook Pro from 2011. When I try to open iPhoto, it says that I have an old version that doesn't work with Maverick. None of the solutions stated on this forum work for me, because there are no options displayed.

After downloading Maverick on the MacBook Pro that I bought in 2011, I am unable to open iPhoto. The message says "You can't use this version of the application "iPhoto" with this version of OS X. You have "iPhoto" 9.2.3" What??? That is ridiculous. Why doesn't Maverick download everything? I have an old iPhoto version and it still works with Mavericks, the version before yours, that is puzzling.

MacBook Pro says connected via Airport but no internet connection at all.

I have a strange problem. My MacBook pro 13" 2009 is no longer connecting to a wireless network it was previously able to get Internet through over wifi. I have not used the wifi here for quite a while 3-4 weeks so the recent update may have something to do with it, but this laptop has the most picky network cards out of all macs I have owned, refusing to connect to many routers. The strange thing was, it used to work on this one, and it's doesn't anymore while no settings have been changed. It works over Ethernet fine. My iPad and iPhone work perfectly on the same wireless. Even the windows laptop works on the network without a hitch.
Looking in the settings, it does not even obtain an address for the router, so how could it possibly be connected to it? And it gives itself the weird ip address of 192.168.1.77? Also, I am using a WEP key, but as I said no settings have changed since I last successfully used it.

The router is a Thomson TG585 a few months old not sure on firmware.

I have the new macbook pro from late 2011. when i try plugging my cannon gl2 into the mac via firewire 800 it does not show up in iMovie as an option to import from. i even have gone into my settings on the camera and changed it to vcr.

I would say that odds are high that you have a bad cable. Maybe that is why they returned it.
I would suggest trying a different firewire cable.

Other things to check:
Is your camera plugged in to wall power (not to batteries only). Must be hooked to an AC power source to import.

Macbook pro cannot connect to public wifi

I am running OS X Lion 10.7.2 on a recently purchased Macbook Pro. I can connect to my home network and other family homes just fine, and I can connect to networks where there has been a sign-up process, for example my college wifi and our local leisure centre. But I've found I cannot connect to wifi in areas such as- On trains, in costa/ starbucks (so bt openzone, the cloud etc), and in the Apple store of all places! These I deem to be 'public wifi' and cannot seem to connect to them. I don't get any error messages or anything, my macbook will find the network and show that it had connected, but when I try and open Safari, pages will just not load. Any help appreciated!

That's a problem only your network administrator can solve.

My Macbook Pro has had trouble connecting to my landlord's internet ever since he added a password to it. I tried my cellphone with the password and it connects to it however my Macbook Pro does not. The password I entered is correct and works because the green lights, light up in network settings and the Wifi signal is at top bar on my Macbook Pro. But, no pages load. The blue loading bar goes almost half way and stops. I downloaded all the updates to see if that would be the fix but no it still doesn't connect. Other places like cafes where their is Wifi I have no problems with. It's just at home. My cell on the otherhand is able to connect. So I dont get whats wrong?

To be able to use documents at iCloud.com, you need at least one iOS device that uses the same account with at least one of the iWork apps installed.

It could be a HW problem, but does it get many black bars in the Airport icon?

Go to System Preferences
Click Network
Highlight AirPort and click Configure...
Choose “By default, join: Preferred networks”
Select her access point(s) and Remove all her access point with the minus button.
Launch her keychain access in Utilities and delete her access point keychain entry.
Reboot
Go back to the “By default, join:” page and click the plus this time to add your access point. Enter the correct password, save, reboot.

Not sure how well they'd work on a Macbook as there aren't any vents on the underside but it couldn't hurt and they're quite cheep.
