My MBP has been acting odd since installing N wireless update.
Since installing the N wireless protocol on my MBP my machine has been acting weird. It fails to see wireless networks, the system preferences fails to open at times. OSX freezes, Force quit doesn't actually quit the programs after they have frozen. Basically its so bad i am thinking about re-formatting my machine and starting again, (its only a week old)
Am I the only one who has this?
Well..that is a bummer....
I did notice something else, don't know if it makes sense or not, but if the mac crashes while connected to my Airport Express at home, the Airport Express stops responding and all of the clients that are connected to it stop getting access to the Internet until I unplug it and plug it back in.
When the issue first arose, I thought it was a problem with the AP express, but since it happens even more frequently when using other routers, I know that is not the issue. Besides, everything was fine until I installed the Wireless-N update. I wonder if there is any way to remove the update?
I'll keep playing with it, but hopefully they find a solution soon. Being that our problem is exactly the same, I would be surprised if no one else is having this issue as well.

I work for Dr Pod, an iPod repair company. This sounds to be that the hard drive is dying in the iPod. As it is an older iPod it is out of its one year warranty, the iPod won't be repaired for free by Apple, and you'd need to consider wether it'd be better to have the iPod repaired by an iPod repair company such as my own, or to purchase a new one from Apple.
If you did choose to purchase a new iPod from Apple, then they do provide 10% off the cost of a new iPod if you exchange in your old one. I'm not sure if this applies to faulty ones though (I have heard of some people being turned away for having a faulty device).

MBP a1226 has been acting odd on startup. (and other issues)
Today, every time I've powered the machine on, the fans run at max speed and iStat reports my avg temp at nearly 82C, which is sorta hot and unusual for my almost three year old MBP.
This is the latest in a series of problems I've been experiencing lately that may or not be relevant. First, I'm having that trackpad and keyboard issue detailed in that big topic. As of now, pressing down on that ribbon fixes it. Second, I started up my computer one time to find that OS X was reporting a battery issue. The message was something like "Service battery." I just purchased the battery brand new, from an Apple Store, last September or so. After a reboot, the message went away and hasn't come back since.
So as far as questions, is the initial issue something to worry about? Also, should I consider talking to Apple about my battery?You might want to open Activity Monitor and see if there is some hung up process running in the background which is hogging the CPU and causing the heat and fan noise. Be sure to select "All Processes" at the top.
It wouldn't hurt to have Apple evaluate your battery--I believe that here is a stress test they can run for you to be sure the battery is functioning properly.

I'm feeling rather dumb since it happened. I had my IPad in an Otter Box to protect it. Didn't realize it was in the same bag with my water bottle. Apparently my bottle cap was loose and consequently, did its damage. I haven't attempted to charge it yet. The screen gets jittery and I can't use the keyboard. I'm trying to be patient but I'm worried it may have been permanently damaged. Any help?? Thanks.
I would NOT plug it in right now. Power it down, cover it with dry rice and let it sit for a few days...the rice will pull moisture out of the device. If you've already been using it it may recover, or the damage may already be done. HOwever if you plug it in right now you run the risk of any of that moisture causing the electricity to arc adn fry something inside.

My iPhone 4 has been acting weird since the update to iOS 5.1.1
I charged it to 100% yesterday morning and by the time I went to bed it was at 13%. I didn't do anything I don't normally do. A few games, email, check weather, sports scores; a couple hours of use.
Then this morning I was texting a buddy that's in town and when I got a response my screen just flashed on then off really quick and it make a weird static noise instead of the bell when I went to unlock the phone to read the message. Just before this I changed the volume of the ringer in settings because it sounded really high.
Has anyone else experienced anything weird since updating? I'm trying a reboot and will watch it for a while. Might be time to take it in and have it checked out.hi Allan,
Can't make or receive any calls. When making a call, you see the thing dialing but no tone, it rings at he other end however. When somebody trying to call me, it does not ring at my end. If you try to end the call, the phone page will just freeze, when you exit the phone page to go try the MP3 player for example, and come back, the phone is still trying to end the previous call. I tried resetting the network settings, turn the phone off and on , no difference at all. It's easter Sunday, everything is closed here in Montreal. -

Have you ever tried a reset? Hold down home and sleep/wake buttons together until you see the apple, then let go.

I got my cracked screen fixed , and ever since my phone has been acting up. Now Im trying to restore it and it wont restore. Also my phone wont work without being on the charger. It just wont disconnect from ITunes Can I get help ASAP

mavericks has broken most stock apps, app store ,preview, messages, facetime ect the list goes on they bounce in the menu then nothing its been like that since installing mavericks fixed briefly by reinstalling but then stopped again very quickly
any help ?You most likely ran a defective third-party "utility" such as "CleanMyMac" or "MacCleanse" that purports to "clean up" "junk" files. What it really does is to corrupt the operating system and many applications.
The first thing you need to do is remove that software according to the developer's instructions. Never install it, or anything like it, again. Then see below.
If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data, then reinstall the OS.* You don't need to erase the startup volume, and you won't need the backup unless something goes wrong. If the system was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you may need the Apple ID and password you used.
If you use FileVault 2, then before running the Installer you must launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the FileVault startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) It will be nested below another icon with the same name. Click the Unlock button in the toolbar and enter your login password when prompted. Then quit Disk Utility to be returned to the main Recovery screen.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it. The same goes for Xcode. All other data will be preserved.
*The linked support article refers to OS X 10.9 ("Mavericks"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later. -
Since upgrading to iOS 6 my iPhone 4 has been acting up and tonight it has totally died!!! No response at all. Please help what can I do?
I suggest contacting apple support...I know in Australia it's 1300 321 456...Not sure what it is for where you are, try this website http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57. Alternatively, if you haven't already, sync it with iTunes. If the iPhone's not been synced before, try holding the power and home buttons down at once. That should reboot the phone. Might sound stupid, but make sure it's fully charged first.

I recently updated my iphone 4 with the 6.1 update. Ever since then my iheart radio app has been acting up. While listening words are getting cut off as well the stations just cut off playing. I have tried shutting my phone down and turning it back on but it doesn.t seem to help.
i have same problem in UK - my phone no longer works with my car cable - it will charge the phone, my ipad works fine, as does my old itouch so I know that the cable is ok. It comes up with no connection even though it is charging it. It used to be fine I dont understand why this would happen?

I am using Iphone 5. SInce the last 3 weeks the phones has been acting weird. on dialling a call it get hung on disconnecting it stays on the call ending screen only. this happens for atleast 5 to 7 minutes and then it gets to normal or the other way is to turn the device off and then turn it on. the phones also running slow and therefore at times becomes very cumbersome. a few of my friends have also been having the same problems.
I have taken the phone to the service outles but the best they did was to reboot the phone it works fine for a day or two but again the same issue.
Can anyone share any info on it?I'm glad to hear that they replaced your phone. Any experience I have had with Apple customer service and/or Genius bar has been extremely positive. While I have had positive outcomes from trouble with other phones in the past, they are not as quick and friendly. I had a Motorola phone and a Samsung phone go bad several years ago and warranty work through AT&T required that I wait for a replacement unit and then mail back the original unit to keep from being charged for the device. This usually meant almost a week without a phone. Nice to walk into Apple and walk out with a replacement device. Enjoy your phone.

I have been trying to save a document in illustrator and every time I try to, a dialog box pops up and says the following- Can't save the illustration. You do not have enough access privileges. id: -5000....This has been happening ever since I switched to CC and whenever I try to save something in indesign, I get a dialog box that says that my file is corrupt. How do I fix this? I cannot get any work done !!!

We have about five devices in our family which have been deactivated. It has been so long since I registered them -years- and I don't recall how I did it. For instance, my daughter's IPod from when she was young doesn't work and neither does her IPod Nano. She can't get any of her music. My Shuffle doesn't work. I am embarrassed that I feel like having Apple products is too complicated for me. I can barely get through all the levels of logging in, let alone how to make the devices work again. Somewhere along the way I seem to remember getting a message that we had too many devices on our account. Which account? I have given up on this so many times and now it is years later and I am trying again. How can I get some meaningful customer service to use the products and music I bought and paid for?
I think in previous incarnations, people would have jumped all over you for your approach, but the Lion operating has generated decidely mixed or even negative reviews from users. So no one seems to disagree with you. I think many folks are simply staying with 10.6 and waiting to see if OS 10.8 is better than 10.7. I've mostly avoided upgrading OS's, or when I do I jump over one version completely because I've waited long enough that I'm two versions behind.
Here are the things that will/would motivate me to update the OS:
* incompatibility with MS-Office (I'm not a MS-Office fan but I do need to use it)
* incompatibility with flash or other tools needed to view modern web content (this might be a while as I am still using several different Macs, the oldest being a 2005 PPC iMac with 10.5.8 and an fairly old/outdated flash, but it seems to still do ok with most web content). Our 2008 Intel Core 2 Duo iMac runs 10.6.8 and can do just about anything we need -- like you, I decided not to go to Lion because it didn't look like much of an improvement.
* incompatibility with various commercial software, such as TurboTax, or with web sites I use to manage financial accounts and such things
We got my daughter a new Macbook Air just before she started college, and Lion plus a new Macbook Air model came out a month later. I am glad now about it actually, I think some of the Lion "issues" would have annoyed her greatly (especially the odd dropping of wireless access points under Lion, everyone is on wireless at colleges now). I'm hoping that the 10.8 OS will be better than Lion. We had (probably still have) a certificate for a free Lion upgrade but we decided not to use it. -
the iphone has been acting weird. my iphone doesnt charge whenever it is switched On. When I switch OFF the phone, it charges for 2 mins then comes back On and stops charging. I dont know what the problem is. trust me, the problem isnt from d charger. PLS anyone with any solution

If your device has been jailbroken during the warranty, Apple will not service it.

Help, my Safari browser has been acting super strange lately! It keeps changing my default browser automatically from Google to Only Search (if you use the search engine Only Search it takes you to Yahoo.com). My search bar will only search on Yahoo no matter what I do to make it Google. On top of that I get MacKeeper popups every time I click on a link. What is worn with my computer and how do I fix it?!
