My Nokia x not received platform 2.1 not update av...

My nokia x no receive update by OTA my software version 1.2.3.4 and platform 1.2

Welcome to our community, irfan_551. Update availability is influenced by many factors including existing device firmware version, country, and operator. It may be due to one of these variables, that there is currently no new firmware update available for your phone. For example, if your mobile service provider hasn't approved the latest device firmware, it isn't available for that specific operator variant you are using but it can be available for a generic country version.  For your next concern, the Nokia X family has been designed with clean user interface from Microsoft Mobile and the most popular Microsoft services while providing access to the world of Android apps. Let us know if you have any clarification.

Hi. Why did nokia stop support of nokia weather. If nokia is not updating the os why they are stopping the old apps services. If nokia thinks by doing this people will buy windows phones i bet everyone will go for android phones.
    Solved!

As obsolete phones get older more and more services cease to function, this is normal and only to be expected.
They aren't disabling services just to make you switch because after all you are free to choose any brand you wish. The reason services are withdrawn is often when usage drops below a certain level that it is no longer financially viable to keep the servers running.

  • Nokia N95 not updating

My phone has version 13.0.0003 on it, nokia web is telling me i can update to 21.00.00 or some thing like that but the updater software tells me my phone is up to date can any one help.

SIM-locking and branding are two totally different things.
If you get a phone from a network operator it'll be branded and SIM-locked. You can remove the SIM-lock by entering the restriction code that the operator will either give or sell to you depending on their policy, but even though you can use any operator's SIM in the phone afterwards it'll still be branded with the original operator's firmware.
Now, if you bought your phone SIM-free and not through an operator then the chances are that it's unbranded anyway. However, firmware upgrades appear for different regions at different times.
I don't recognize the product code you gave so I don't think it's a European model. This means that you'll probably have to wait for the firmware to be translated into the languages of your region.

  • Nokia 500 not updating to belle

I have 2 nokia 500 phones,. I upgraded one with belle but when i try to update the other one, it shows your phone is already up to date, no updates available. Please help me to upgrade my phone

    Hi Ramnarayanan,
As Symbian development has wound down, FP2 and Belle Refresh for the other Symbian^3 phones, unfortunately are the last updates available for the Symbian platform. As this is a user to user forum only, you may still wish to leave feedback with Nokia directly by clicking the Nokia Support link at the bottom of this page.

  • Nokia 305 not update

    Please update nokia 305

Is there a software update available for your device? If yes, are you having issues updating? If yes, any error message? Are you using the device itself or the Nokia Suite?
    (or)
Do you want Nokia to provide an update for the said device? If yes, we're afraid we do not have available information regarding the future software updates of the phone.
Upon checking, the latest update is V 7.42: http://developer.nokia.com/Community/Wiki/index.php?title=Firmware_change_logs_for_Nokia_Asha_(Serie...
If you do not have the latest software installed on your phone, it's best to check for it. You can either input *#0000# on the device dialer or go to Settings > Device > Device Updates.

  • Nokia N95 not updating using the Nokia Software Up...

    Hi guys
just got my n95 today, it has v10 fw on it and i would like to update it to v12.
ive downloaded and installed latest pc suite and downloaded the latest nokia update software
i run the updater and it says found new software (v12), please tick the box to acknowledge etc etc
so i click on ok, and it says updating....
then 2 mins later i get this screen:
    http://aycu30.webshots.com/image/24429/2000451008485701969_rs.jpg
Which says "phone recovery - please remove battery and restart the phone"
so i got to take battery out and retry, but i get the same error. not too sure what to do now? the fw it downloaded was 113mb.
i have tried it on vista pc/laptop and a xp pro pc and still get the same error.
ive tried using different usb ports, connected the usb directly to pc (without any hubs etc) and still get the same error.
it looks like this n95 doesn't want to be updated. The n95 still works though, i just want to update its software
anyone had any thing similar? is there anything else i could try?
    any help is much appreciated

Handsets that allow for updating, have a small piece of software within them often called the boot loader, that allows the new upgraded software to be flashed into the device.
If the Boot Loader is damaged, then the upgrade of the device software from the Nokia Software updater cannot be performed.
A Nokia care point is able to rectify this because they can use the service connector on the handset to reflash the software with their equipment.
This will be done for free if your handset is in warranty.

I will mostly be communicating with a Nokia E72 Zodium Black

  • Messages sent from pc nokia browser not stored

I have a nokia 6131, windows xp mce 2002 sp2 on an asus s6 portable and nokia pc suite 6.83.14.1 and a toshiba stack bluetooth connection. Language on the pc and the phone is Swedish in all cases.
When I send messages from the nokia phone browser window on the pc, the messages are sent ok and received by the correct mobile, but no messages are automatically saved in any folder in the browser window nor on the phone. The only option is to save the message prior to sending and then the message is saved in the drafts folder. On the phone the only other folder the message later on can be moved to is saved messages.
I also noticed that the folders available on the phone are not the same as those visible in the browser window! ?

OK I see Nokia is not so popular amongst it's PC suite users! Like MicroSoft amongst PC users? I have a siemens c75 with mobile phone manager on the pc. Works really well! But siemens doesn't seem to provide this excellent software on their website anymore! So mobile phone to pc compatibility doesn't seem to be a priority for the mobile phone industry? I mean, how hard can it be? And when they produce something that works, why stop providing it?

  • Nokia N73 (not music edition) Ring tone mute mode

    Hi,
I am having the Nokia N73 (not music edition) phone. If I receive any call when the music player is in the pause mode then I can see the vibrating alert only and not the ring tone. At that time my ring tone is going on mute mode. Is it a build-in functionality? Or it is a problem?
    Thanks,
    Parker.

Try switching profiles. If you see it's set to Silent, turn it to General instead.

  • Club Nokia and Nokia Sweden not responding on e-ma...

    Hallo!
I have few questions about the membership and registration in Club Nokia which the Nokia Care staff could not or didn't want to answer on. The Nokia Sweden support staff didn't even reply to my message. Not only did they not reply on my message concerning the Club Nokia membership, but they never seem to reply on anything, what ever question I ask them. Once there was some technical issue with the Web site and one of the many of my messages didn't seem to have been sent to them. But that can be excused. But what about all the other times I have sent messages to them which they didn't reply on? I have been sending messages (via the e-mail contact form) to Nokia Sweden ever since I bought my first Nokia mobile phone which was like year 2003 or something like that. And they always replied on any concerns I might have had. But during the last like two years right now I was never able to get a reply from them whatever question I brought up, including the question about what's up with them and this behaviour. I have been sending messages to them for two years time period right now, from different computers, even different operating systems, and filling out different e-mail addresses where I want the reply to be sent. But still nothing!
Maybe it will work out better and I may get the reply faster if I send them the message in a bottle?... they are such a****les! This behaviour has changed my whole picture of Nokia as a company and as a brand. It used to be easy and obvious to me before what brand I would buy when I walked out to buy a new mobile phone. But right now if I was about to buy a new mobile phone (have a N73 right now) I would be in some serious doubt whether or not to buy a Nokia phone. Mobile phones of today are not as they were three or five years ago. Today, other manufacurers have developed and improved their product lines quite radically. Simply put: Nokia is not the best brand in the bussiness anymore. A Nokia product is not the only good enough product. Besides, their handhelds are totally useless on a Linux computer. That goes totally against and is contrary to their claimed beliefes and almost heroic proclamation of open source and Symbian OS being the best solution for smartphones which several manufacturers use today in their products. So I might chose a competing brand instead. What ever brand I might chose in the near future (i'm planning to buy a new smartphone or PDA next year) I will definitly take in concern the producers relation with customers. I don't accept the way I have been treated by Nokia Sweden. I could of course have called them on the phone, but that's not an excuse for the e-mail communication to be out of function, out of order, or what ever is going on over there.
E-mail communication is becoming and already is a basis for corporation-customer communication. Many big names in the IT bussiness have solely technical support by e-mail, and nothing else. When they do have technical support by phone, a great part of the customer base choses to e-mail them instead. So e-mail communication is becoming more used then the phone even between regular people like us who spend time on this discussion board. So e-mail communication is not something that is allowed to be neglected in favor for support via the phone. If we look at the way people communicate today it would become obvious that e-mail and SMS/MMS communication play an important part.
And Nokia is supposed to be "Connecting People"! Hah! So ironic!
Note! One very important thing that must be underlined here is that this bad relation thing, and Nokia not replying on e-mails only and surely applies to Nokia Sweden. Nokia UK for instance has always replied to what ever the question I had in mind. So for every time Nokia Sweden didn't reply to me, I translated the message to English and asked Nokia UK and I always got a sattisfying answer. Many thanks to you guys! You're the best! This positive and good reception may be a reason enough for me to move to England! Seriously!
Initially I just wanted to ask the questions I have below. But I felt like this post needed to be expanded little bit to give you a short flashback or foreword and to share my experience with you. Feel free to comment if you have had any bad experience with either Nokia Sweden or other Nokia support or customer care or so called "Nokia Care" depertments.
    Now to my initial questions.
    1. What is Club Nokia?
    2. What's the difference between Club Nokia and My Nokia? If My Nokia is just a new name for Club Nokia, then what else has changed except the name?
    3. Is it true that one can get a personal Club Nokia card by mail after registering for Club Nokia?
    4. What is the Club Nokia card used for?
    5. Is it a condition that must be fulfilled that one registers the purchased phone and shows the Club Nokia card in order to get warranty service at an authorized Nokia service shop? If it's not a condition for warranty service to have the Club Nokia card, can it still be used for those purposes (i.e. verifying the date of purchase) instead of showing the purchase receive?
    Thanks in advance!

And if you need to contact them in your own language, you could maybe use the contact form on nokia.se pages:
    http://www.nokia.se/link?cid=PLAIN_TEXT_494072
after doing a quick google around the subject it seems pretty clear that there is no club nokia anymore but rather MyNokia. They do have swedish site:click here

  • Nokia to NOT allow updates to Symbian apps

I dont know if anyone here has heard the news about the future of the Nokia / Ovi Store?
As of 1st Jan 2014 Nokia will not allow any new apps in the store, but even more worrying is the fact they wont allow updates for existing apps
This means that when facebook or youtube change the API's none of our apps will work and we will not be able to update them through the Nokia Store.
Im sure you realise the implications, basically all of our symbian / meego phones will be pretty much useless soon after January, maybe some 3rd party developers can issue updates via their own websites but who knows.......
And Nokia told us just recently that they would support symbian until 2016.
I have now lost all trust in Nokia

I am sure, in corporate board room, there was a calculation based on anticipated sales, device longevity, and projected move of customers to remaining platforms (WP8 and ASHA).
On paper I am sure those seemed sound to the people making the decisions.
In reality, they will greatly anger those of us who have stuck by Nokia and continue to use our well built symbian and Meego devices.
In reality, what ever minimal cost there is associated with allowing updates is greatly offset by the goodwill that it will generate by supporting legacy users.
A smart corporation would use this to their advantage.  Put banner ads on the site with WP8 devices, smartly displayed, advertise the new features, new apps, aids to transition to the new devices so that everyone coming to get apps/updates for their aging phone would seem them.  That way, you keep the goodwill of your current customers.  And give them a reason to want and move towards your new WP8/ASHA phones.  Wow do these people need to hire some good PR and ad people.  Bean counters make financially sound and consumer stupid decisions.
Instead of using this to their advantage, they will make users progressively hate Nokia/MS.  Eventually after January 1, Facebook or Twitter or some other services will change their API.  Without the ability to fix the current app, it will be broken and remain broken.  Now, every time you go to use it, you will think very bad things about Nokia and especially Microsoft.  That is how the mind works.  You will not think, "I need to buy a new lumia", you will think "I will never buy Nokia again" and will go buy iphone, android, jolla, firefox os..... any thing but Microsoft/Nokia who you perceived as harming you.  That is just simple human nature and psychology.
But I am sure the corporate bean counters know better, right?
I will say honestly, when it comes time to replace my N9, I will look elsewhere.  The sad part of all this is that prior to this announcement I still had positive feelings about Nokia and Microsoft.  Those end January 1.

  • First Nokia phone - not happy

After years of using Samsung phones I decided to upgrade so off to H/Normams to purchase a new phone and whilst there noticed the Nokia 520 and was impressed by it so I purchased it.  When I got home I realised I needed a micro sim so rang dodo the next day and order one (did not know you could get your old one stamped)  Got that on Thursday and was very happy with the display and windows 8.  After about 6 days the lcd display went funny, patchy and pixellated so rang H/Norman and wanted to exchange the phone but they stated as it was a Nokia they couldn't as it had to be returned to them for warranty repairs.  Had to wait a few days to do this as I needed the phone.  So although I had the phone for 2 weeks I only got 6 days of full working use out of it and now have been without it longer than I have used it whilst it is with Nokia.  Never had a probem with Samsung phones and disappointed that Nokia does not exchange products that malfunction that quick and especially with an item that is needed everyday.
First time purchase with Nokia and last.

As this is a user to user platform you are in the wrong place if you want to address Nokia. You can contact them through this link or use twitter through @nokiahelps.
You also seem to engange in other thread basically advocating there are widespread and structural issues with the 920. Keep in mind that this platform is a place where generally people come who have some sort of issue and as such the ratio would be seriously skewed.
I get what you are saying but many of these 'rules' are more up to local law and regulation than what a company decides to do. Also did you stop and think it may be this sales person may be trying to sell you a Samsung phone instead?

  • My firefox beta 12 using Linux platform does not update to firefox RC1 via the "check for update" function. I know windows' beta version had this fixed, when would Linux get similar support ?

    Current platform : Linux
Current firefox version : Firefox 4 beta 12
Issue : does not update to RC 1 using the check for update feature.
Background : previously downloaded beta 8 and then it automatically updated to beta 12 using update features but for RC1, it does not.
I know users under Windows platform had same problem but was resolved and they can now update via check for update feature.
Please implement for Linux users too.
    Thanks !!

If you can't update then you can download and install the full Firefox 4 RC version.

    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
