My Norton toolbar doesn't workm in Firefox 21. It says it is incompatible with said version of Firefox. It is Norton toolbar version 2013.3.4.3.

Also, there is no "enable" button next to the listing in add-ons list. I have the most current version of Norton Internet Security installed and there are no further updates available on Liveupdate.
How do I resolve this issue?

How can I remove Norton Toolbar when there are no buttons to remove or enable/disable?
Besides, I wasn't aware the toolbar had a standalone download? I thought it could only be received through Norton products such as Internet Security.
Please advise.

No, it's still in version 5.2.0.13, but the update/patch sent resolved the problem!

If I must replace it where do I get an older version?
    Thanks

Firefox '''4 '''versions '''and later do not run on a PowerPC Mac''' and require at least OS X 10.5 and an '''Intel Mac'''.
The latest''' supported''' version for your os is '''3.6.26''' , your are fully updated.

  • I am running Mac OS X 10.5.8 and I cannot download Firefox 4 because it says it is incompatible with my operating system, although supposedly it is compatible with OS X 10.5

I would like to download Firefox 4. I get an error message during download saying it is incompatible with my operating system and that it needs OS X 10.5 or 10.6 but I AM using 10.5.8, so what might be the problem?

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox

  • I've downloaded 6.0.2 several times. Each time the download doesn't "stick". I keep getting message "you are working with insecure version".

    1. Firefox downloads. On screen is "opening Firefox 6.0.2.dmg". I choose "Save File". It is saved in downloads. I open the file.
    2. I move Firefox icon into Applications Folder. Message the "Firefox.app" already exists in this location". I replace it. Firefox app copies.
    3. Next message is "updates available at http:www.firefox.com"
    4. Sometimes I receive message "you are using an insecure versions".
    Help, please and thank you.

If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop
    * Firefox 6.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
    * Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

  • After installing 3.6.9 update, none of my plugins are working now. not one...why?everything is still installed and it didn't say that it's incompatible with my version of firefox but i can't see a thing..no foxtab, no script, etc...

after installing the update (3.6.9), all of my plugins are not working anymore...not a single one!

One of the files that stores details on installed add-ons may be corrupt. Try removing the files to see if that helps. Firefox will re-create the files and in the process re-build the list of installed extensions and themes. For details of how to do that see the section on corrupt extension files in the [[Unable to install add-ons#Corrupt extension files|unable to install add-ons]] article.

  • Can¡t install a google toolbar because it says it's incompatible

I can not install the google bar because it says it is incompatible with the version I have of Firefox: 8.01

Google decided that they will no longer produce the Google Toolbar for Firefox 5 and newer versions. It is best to move on to other alternatives than to try any "hacks" to the toolbar that may or may not perform in the future. Future versions of Google toolbar will only work with IE7-9. Google Toolbar is not available on any other browser, even Google's own browser.

  • HP smart web printing is incompatible with firefox 4.0. What can be done to resolve this issue?

having recently upgraded to Mozilla's Firefox 4.0 it has disabled the 4.6 HP smart web printing saying it is incompatible with Firefox 4.0?  Is there any way around this inconvenience of not having the ability to use this terrific HP pdct as do not have ability to print from a website using their print feature nor simply selecting print on the Firefox browser?
    thank you

Anytime that there is a browser upgrade, it affects add ons functionality. If it is in the works to make it compatible, then it simply takes time for our team to create the necessary changes. But, as history has shown, the changes are never as easy as you would think, and occasionally is not compatible without a complete rewrite of the program. If it is made compatible, it will be listed when available on the Web Printing homepage.

  • Default theme incompatible with latest firefox version

I had a Firefox 29 installation on one of my laptops and I copied the profile folder to backup to a different laptop. The other laptop though had Firefox 12 on it so I just updated it, and although my newer add-ons from the backup are now compatible, I can't use the default theme. Instead it has this very basic theme that isn't the default. If I look in the appearance tab it says "Default is incompatible with Firefox 30.0." The theme is labeled "Default 29.0.1". How can I get it to install the default theme for the current version? Thanks.

You can try to delete the compatibility.ini file and check for issues with the files that stores the prefs.
Delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Resetting_preferences
Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
*Download the full Firefox installer and save the file to the desktop<br>http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove "personal data" when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords including data in profiles created by other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    *(32 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
    *(64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"
*It is important to delete the Firefox program to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

  • Why is Norton 360 toolbar disabled and incompatible with Firefox?

I recently switched from Internet Explorer to Firefox 26 - I have the most recent updates for both products, but my Norton toolbar will not enable - the add-on extension states it is incompatible with Firefox, even though the Norton site claims it is compatible. The Norton Vulnerability Protection was also disabled, but after checking for updates in the toolbox, it was enabled. Is my Norton working while browsing in Firefox, and when will my Norton toolbar be available?

Norton just released information that they will support FF 27.

I have been struggling with upgrading to FF 27 to get the Norton Toolbar. But I am not wild about the awesome toolbar. But it is better than Google Chrome and IE 9. I have Windows Vista.

  • Why Norton toll bar is incompatible with FireFox 9.0.1 ????

Have a good time in first.
So in FF toll the add-ons manager;all extensions are enable, unless the Norton toll bar is disable in cause that it's incompatible with the FF version 9.0.1 & also the FF version 10.0.4
I'm amazing ,earlier time all extensions was compatible & enable & working perfectly, with all version for FireFox.

Firefox 10 is currently a Beta version and Norton doesn't support pre-release Beta versions. See this regarding Firefox 9.0.
    http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Firefox-9-Support-for-Norton-Toolbar/td-p/615563
Basically, just run Norton Live Update as often as you need to - some users have said it took 3 or 4 tries for the Live Update to retrieve the updated Norton extensions for Firefox.

  • Middle mouse button doesn't work in Firefox

On my Lenovo Thinkpad the middle mouse button, that scrolls a web page up and down, doesn't work in Firefox only. In all other programs (including IE) the scroll function of the trackpoint middle button works fine, but in Firefox not at all. One solution described at Firefox is to edit a pref for a "ui.trackpoint_hackenabled" parameter, and I did change that value to 1, and restarted Firefox, but NO luck.
    I'm using 4.0.1.
