My old computer was stolen, how do I get my ipod touch music on to itunes
I have had my computer stolen with all my music, both itunes purchased and taken from old cd's, but still had my iPod Classic with all music. Then got new laptop and transfered music from classic to new laptop. Great. Then my classic was stolen and my wife replaced it with a Touch. Transfered all music that would fit to my Touch. Still had all original music on laptop. Laptop stolen again. Now just have what is on Touch and have a new computer and want to put all the music from Touch to iTunes. Will only take iTunes purchases. How can I get all my music from Touch to iTunes?
Was your backup copy of your computer stolen as well.
If not, then use that to put everything back.
The music sync is one way - computer to ipod touch. The only exception is itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
You can buy software to extract the other music.

How do I get the iPod Touch to "forget" my iTunes/AppStore password?
I bought a Touch for my daughter for Christmas, and I don't want her to be able to purchase apps or other content without my permission. I purchased a couple of apps from the appstore for her, and I entered my password as part of the process. Now it doesn't ask for the password anymore! She will be able to download anything!
I've looked and I can't find any way to force a password check for each purchase.
Help!iPod touch will not remember your password. The only reason you didn't have to put the password in twice is because the iPod remembers the password only for a few minutes so you don't have to constantly input it for everything single download.

As long as you sign in to apple store with same id used for the original purchase and authorised your computer you will find that when you download the app it will be shown as free.
your account has a full history of your purchases so no problem as long as it was purchased from apple store

Assuming you registered your Mac you can use My Support Profile to find a list of serial numbers for items purchased or registered with your Apple ID.

The serial number will be located in the box the device came in.
However, having the serial number will not help you lock it.
The only way to lock it would have been if you set up Find My iPad on iCloud.com and the iPad.
you could then go to iCloud.com and lock it from the "Find my iPhone" section of the website. -

The easiest way to find your serial number is this Open Itunes...click help... run diagnostics.....(tick or untick as necessary) so that you just have ticked the last two, device connectivity and device sync. run these tests. it will say no ipod/ipad found but will give results of test....scroll down to bottom of results... here you will find the serial number of your last attached devices.
