MMy old MacBook pro died, got a new Mac, can I use my cs4 with my new computer? Do I need to buy a new license?

Using Time Machine, or any other such program, to transfer Adobe software from one machine to another works probably less than five percent of the time. Uninstall from your new machine. Run the cleaner tool (do a search for Cleaner Tool on this site if you don't know what it is). Then reinstall properly from original media or downloads.

  • Old MacBook Pro Died, Trying to Transfer Creative suite

    Hello!
Wondering if anyone can help me, my old MacBook Pro died (Logic Board faliure) , I had Adobe Creative Suite CS4 on it and I want to get it on my new computer.
I got an enclosure for the harddrive and can transfer files to my new computer but after transfering my Adobe programs it won't let me open them, says there is some sort of licencing issue (error 6). I'm just wondering if there are some files I am missing or what, I can't deactivate it on my old computer as all that is left of it is the harddrive. I also don't have the install disks as I moved and lost them... If anyone can help me out with this I would be very greatfull.
    Regards,
    K. Spencer Jones

Of course you need the serial number. And yes, it’s on the DVD case or sign into your account and you’ll find it there….if you registered.

    No.
    Power Adapter/ cord wattage
“Power adapters for Intel-based Apple notebooks are available in 45W, 60W, and 85W varieties. Although you should always use the proper wattage adapter for your Apple notebook, you can use an adapter of a higher wattage without issue.”

I can't help you with a direct answer.  For third-party devices you should contact the vendor (Vodafone).
If you have an iPhone (or an Android phone with hot-spot capability) you can use that to connect to the Internet without paying for a separate cellular service.

Niel, I found a way to download Safari 6.1.6 but it failed because the installer couldn't create the folder '/var/folders/lg/pqypcsnn715btrs106b9crpr0000gn/T//Install.3334NgcMxu"

  • Glitches and visual issues on 3 week old MacBook Pro - size issues as well. Can Apple help?

I ordered my Macbook Pro in September 2012. I received it in the mail on September 14, 2012. For the past week and a half, there have been visual glitches, as well as keyboard twitching on-screen (garbled/slow typing on screen). This is a brand new computer, and no damage has occurred to it at all. This was very expensive, and I want a quality product. Will Apple repair or replace the device?
Also - I ordered the 15 inch model, and have found out that it is too large for me. Is it possible to switch this model for the 13 inch model instead? (Although the return period is over?)
    Thanks

We''re just as good as you for guessing answers to question #1. Only "normal" everyday Mac users here, no official Apple presence (except for the invisible censor that will strike inappropriate posts unseen). Make good use of your one-year base warranty.
As for question #2, I think you've answered it yourself. Had a 14 days no-questions-asked return period that was squandered, Apple will offer no further respite. Will have to sell it on the classifieds of the local rag, eBay, Craigslist, whatever, recoup what you can and try again. Is why there are so many points of sale nowadays where you can go play with the toys before plonking down the cash.

  • Macbook pro & vodafone 3G PCMCIA card-how can I use this?

    Hi
I have recently bought a macbook pro and love it but I need a way of using my company vodafone 3G PCMCIA card on the move. Do you know of a compatible USB card holder I can slide the vodafone 3G card into or a 3G mobile solution that fits the funny express card slot (that is available in the UK for me to use). How are all of you making out who used a vodafone 3G card with a G4 15" powerbook like I did now you own a macbook pro?
Happy to buy an adapter or even look into a new 3G internet provider but it must be available in the UK and work with my macbook pro?
    All ideas appreciated.
    Macbook Pro 1.83GHz 100GB HD, G4 powerbook 12 1.5GHz, intel imac 17"   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

I don't know if there is a PCMCIA adaptor for use with the MacBook Pro (or any portable.) However, here's some things to check into:

  • My display text of macbook pro 10.7.5 appears blurred , can any body help me with this issue. Everything i open now - chrome, safari - appears blurred

Everything on my macbook air 10.7.5 appears blurred. I tried searching a few things but didnt get any success.
Can anybody please help me with this ?

Nothing looks blurred to me on the screen shot you posted.  However, I did notice that some of the fonts in the tabs are faded.  Which browser are you using?  You should post in a browser forum about that and also the blurring that you see.
Since your Finder fonts looks blurry to you, go to System Preferences/Personal/Appearance - play around with the text smoothing setting.  If that does not work, play around with the resolution settings - System Preferences/Displays/Display

  • Lost my ipod, can i use my account with my new ipod?

I lost my ipod, can I use my old account with my new ipod?

Yes.  There is no limit to the number of iPods, iPads, or iPhones you can sync with one computer, iTunes library, or account. Simple connect it and sync it as you wish.

  • Can I use my iphone with my new laptop?

    Hi all;
I've bought a new laptop and want to pair my iphone with my new laptop. Is there any problem?

That's useless if what you want to have on your phone and what you have in your iTunes library are different. Another example of Apple's terrible software design, making these otherwise beautiful devices difficult to use.

  • My MacBook Pro randomly disconnects from Safari and can only access it after I restart my computer...What is wrong? and how do I fix it?

I restored my MBP to factory thinking that would help...NOPE! I spend a great portion of my day on the web, networking for my writing, what can I do...getting desparate.

While I'm using Safari, whatever site I'm on...freezes, it just locks and won't refresh or do anything. I'm unable to redirect to anyother links or sites. At this moment I have to close Safari and restart my computer to get my internet to work proper again for a short while. I am on a wireless network. Everything worked great with NO problems for the past year then about 3 weeks ago I started having these issues. I've never used anything but Safari. My GMAIL also went funky at the same time and wouldn't display properly. Since I restored my MBP, my GMAIL is working again, but the internet still freezes. When it freezes, my airport still shows full connection.

  • 5year old MacBook pro  laptop died. Living in Belguam, India.

5year old MacBook pro died. Living in Belguam, India. Do I need a converter for amps and wattage if I get a newer MacBook pro laptop? Would it be due to a power surge ? The power will go out at random times almost daily. Wondering if I need to get a converter with my next purchase of a laptop?

Can you define "Died"? Did the battery reach the end of its usable life, or did it run out of charge and you have no means of charging it? Also, 5 years is somewhat old for apple technology, so it probably just died since it's so old, not de to a power surge or power outage.
