My Outlook 2013 folders aren't syncing

I'm using Outlook 2013 and I recently changed my email accounts from POP3 to IMAP. In doing so, I dragged mail folders from my old POP3 account and dropped them in the IMAP account as I wanted to retain my old emails and use the same folders. Immediately,
each folder's name was appended with (This computer only). For example, my folder called "Family" now reads "Family (This computer only)." None of these folders sync with my email accounts on my other devices such as my cell phone or iPad
which I have also converted to IMAP. If I delete an email on any device it deletes it on all, but the folders are not showing up except on my desk top. How do I get these Outlook folders to be IMAP folders?

Outlook 2013 changes how IMAP accounts are handled. If the folder's name is appended with (This computer only), that means this is a local folder and doesn't sync with your mailbox.
Based on your situation, please root your mailbox as the following article (perform the steps in a new creating profile would be a good choice):
http://www.msoutlook.info/question/736
After that, create a new subfolder through Web-based access or Outlook site, and then move/copy all of message items from the local folder to solve the problem.
For the local “This computer only” folders, we recommand backup them to PST.

  • Outlook 2013 IMAP E-Mail Sync Problems

I'm using Outlook 2013 and have run into a few problems.  First, when checking my email, not all messages appear in my Inbox.  Comparing the inboxes of the desktop Outlook client and the online web access of my personal account (not Outlook.com),
I can see a few dozen emails from over the past week that have not been synced.  I cannot sense a pattern as to why some have been downloaded and some haven't (some have been read and some unread, none flagged or otherwise altered) but it's quite frustrating
to not be able to rely on something as straightforward as checking email.  I have used this email account for over 10 years and past versions of Outlook without any problems.
Furthermore, whenever I start Outlook I have to switch folders from Inbox to another and back again before the 'Inbox synchronization' begins. If I do not change folders, Outlook runs a Send/Receive but doesn't alter the messages, just leaving the Inbox
as it was last time I opened the program.  Granted I only have to click to any folder and back to the Inbox to get it working, but it's yet another issue I'm having with a brand new program.
Please let me know if there are any work arounds or known bugs but I'd prefer not to try any actions that will only address past problems and not future ones (e.g. solutions proposed like 'delete account and recreate' sound to me like it would only do a
re-sync now but not affect any future errors).  I appreciate your input and effort to help me address this.  Also, please don't hesitate to ask for more information (server name, settings, etc.).

    Hi,
For both issues, please run Outlook in Safe Mode to determine if it's 3rd-party add-ins related:
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
If there’s no problem in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which add-ins caused this issue.
We may also try repairing Office in Control Panel to check the result.
Since a new profile always helps many users, we suggest you can have a try:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829918/en-us
If you use an IMAP account on Outlook, you don't have to worry about the loss of data since it will sync automatically from the server and create a new data file.
I hope the information is helpful.

  • Outlook 2013 calendar does not sync with iphone5

All of a sudden, I am unable to sync Outlook 2013 calendar with my iphone5. It had been working just fine and I do not recall making any changes. Any ideas what to look for and how to fix this? I am running Outlook 2013 under Windows 8 Pro, my iPhone 5 is ios 6.1.3, and iTunes is 11.0.2.26.

Exchange calendar became disconnected and did not sync for no reason at all. The solution - on your iPhone, go to Settings, Mail/Contact/Calendars, scroll to the bottom and set Exchange as your Default Account. Then do a test event on both tour iPhone and in Outlook and confirm it is working. Good luck - one word, patience.

  • Outlook 2013 - Folders missing

    Hello,
I've got an issue with one of our executives.    It maybe simular to :::  http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/8ebce46d-1645-4909-8951-d1ca954179ac/outlook-2013-folder-pane-is-empty
But the Folder Pane is not missing only certain SUB-FOLDERs.
For instance, this executive had dozens of folders, and many of those folders have sub foolders.
Some folders are fully populated even the sub folders...
Others, only have the top level folder populated, all sub folders are just not there, they do show in Webmail.
    This is an Exchange mailbox.
Outlook says all folders are up to date.
    Windows 7 - 64bit
This is a new machine about 3 weeks old.
I plan on removing the Updates from that other thread, but I'm looking to see if there is anything else someone might be able to suggest.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Press Ctrl + 6, can you see the subfolders in the folder list pane?
Locate the ost-file for your mail profile and rename it to .old when Outlook is closed. Upon starting Outlook, the cache will be rebuilt, check if the subfolders can be seen.
As Ajo Abraham suggested, you can try the steps in
    http://desigeek.com/blog/amit/2007/01/17/solved-case-of-the-invisible-folder-in-outlook-and-exchange/with the tool called MfcMapi.

  • ICloud / Outlook 2013 Sent & Deleted not synced correctly

    Hi
Have seen a LOT of issues around this but I can't work out if this issue has now gone away for most or if it's still present. I have installed Windows 8.1 (64bit) with Outlook 2013 + iCloud Control Panel. Ran the iCloud set-up and it created the iCloud mail account no problem apart from not picking up Sent Messages & Deleted Messages. I have tried EVERYTHING to try to force Outlook to pick these up rather than creating separate default Sent Items & Deleted Items, but no joy so far.
Can anyine help & has anyone had any luck in getting this to work?
    Thanks

Haven't heard of this often, usually it's a mapping error but if these emails are saved in the server folders then the destination is correct.
If you send an email from your iPhone or another client does the sent mail appear in the folder on Outlook?
In Outlook's sidebar you should be able to see what folders are in which account, the ones created by Outlook are normally not Server folders, what is in them?

    Hi,
Since there is no sync synchronization issue on mobile device and OWA, it is highly possible of outlook client issue.
Make sure outlook client is the latest version.
Please disable the security AVG/Firewall, especially the mail scanner module to check whether this issue persists.
Run Outlook in Safe Mode to determine if it's 3rd-party add-ins related:
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
Please run scanost.exe to fix the .pst file to test the result:

Please try to recreate profile to check this issue.
If this issue persists, please let me know.

    Hello,
You can try the method in this thread:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/0a8a3dac-b786-4301-92d4-77c6c6fc08a9/gmail-and-outlook-2010?forum=outlook
    I paste the steps here:
    1) Navigate to File >> Options >> Advanced >> scroll down to the send/receive heading >> click on the send/receive button
    on the right
    2) On the right hand side of the send/receive groups window that opens click on the Edit button
    3) Un-check the "Get folder unread count for subscribed folders"
    4) under Received mail items, check the option "User the custom behavior defined below"
    5) In the window below that displays your Gmail folders just select inbox and leave the others unchecked
    6) click ok and then exit out of options and perform a send/receive to test if it is now working.

  • Contact Sync problem - Syncing contacts TO Outlook 2013 stopped working, whilst syncing contact FROM Outlook 2013 to iPhone still works.

    I've tried everything...
iPhone version: 5S with latest OS (v.8.1).
Outlook version 2013, on Windows 7, latest iTunes version (12.x)
I prefer NOT to use iCloud (as the representation of iCloud contacts in Outlook ignores the contacts' folder division, which is important to me).
I have an Exchange server, though the sync is directed to my local Outlook client.
All other settings looks good (again, syncing FROM Outlook TO iPhone works, but I need vice versa).
I've tried syncing with closed Outlook client. Tried resetting configuration, tried moving to iCloud and back etc.. All, just to see the problem persist. Newly created contacts on the PC get synced to the iPhone, while newly created contacts ON the iPhone, does not get synced to Outlook.
    Please HELP.

I have the same problem, when I sync the contacts they pass well from outlook to my iphone, but not the way around, indeed it changes my iphone contacts information and dismisses all the inputs that I already made in the iphone.

  • I can sync bookmarks on my Firfox for android, but folders aren't sync, i can only get bookmarks from bookmarks main folder. Is a bug or a config issue?

I can sync bookmarks in firefox for android, but only the ones that are on Bookmarks main folder, the folders create below the main folder are not synchronized. Is this a bug or a config issue?

Thanks Barney, I tried that but all that comes up in Spotlight are the log files that show the file paths! I don't know how Steam works. Are all the files held by Steam on their server perhaps?

  • Outlook 2013 folders not showing unread email count for incoming emails

When a new email comes in, it would show up in its folder in bold, indicating it's unread email, which is good, but there is no blue number (unread email count) next to the folder. Outlook repair didn't help. No one else on the network has this problem.
How to fix it so when a new email comes in the unread email count would update itself?

    Hi,
Does this issue happen to all folders (including Inbox)?
Please right click on one folder, and select Properties, and make sure the "Show number of unread items" option is selected. If it is already selected, change it to "Show total number of items", click OK. Then, change it the "Show
number of unread items" again to see the result.
Please let me know the result.

  • HT4236 My photos in the individual folders aren't syncing back to my ipad in the same order that they are on computer even if I rename them sequentially. It's a photo album so need same order

    Help

On iOS 6 the photos are copied over (from here) in date modified order. So you will either need to amend the photo's on your computer so that their modified dates are in your required order, or there are third-party photo management apps such as Photo Manager Pro which allow you to change an album's sort order within the app e.g. by date, size, or by dragging them into your own sort order.

  • Outlook 2013 not syncing subfolders - IMAP

    Hello,
Currently having issues with Outlook 2013 / Office 365 not syncing subfolders correctly.
    Example.
Receive email > answer email > move email over to new subfolder > goto subfolder and email does not show?? > go to webmail and both email and subfolder show correctly.
Read lots of articles on this but no solution to the problem.
    article 1 - http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/email/email-troubleshooting/imap-issues-affecting-outlook-2013-and-office-365-functionality
If this carries on then a move back to Thunderbird is on the cards as i've imaged this along side outlook and do not have any issues with thunderbird.  it works perfectly... unlike Outlook.

goto subfolder and email does not show?? > go to webmail and both email and subfolder show correctly.
As per the description above, it seems the subfolder and email message got uploaded correctly to the server, it's just not display in the subfolder in Outlook 2013 client side. If I have misunderstood your concern, please let me know.
Does this only happen to this specific subfolder?
To troubleshoot this issue, I would suggest we first check what view settings you have of this faulty folder. Maybe you have it set for Unread Messages Only or something that is filtering out the messages you just moved:
Select the folder, go to "VIEW" tab on the ribbon
Click "View Settings" button. On the "Advanced View Settings" dialog, click "Filter..." button
Check if you have any filters which might filter out the message. Clear it, then try again.
Hope this helps, please feel free to post back with any findings.

  • Outlook 2013 not receiving emails I get on my iPhone

Hello Everybody! Recently I updated my laptop to Windows 8.1 and got myself Microsoft Office 2013. I am having an issue with Outlook I am not being able to solve. Thing is that all the mails I get from my hotmail account to my iPhone are not reaching my
Outlook 2013 after I have synced it with my mail.
Master tip: the last mail I have received in my outlook is from September 7 2013, the exact date I first got my iPhone and synced my mail with it. I am more than sure that my iPhone is not letting Outlook receive the mails I get when they reach my cellphone.
Please help! I love using Outlook in my work and would like even more to use it at home, it's very useful.
Thanks in advance to anybody that reads this

    Hi Fernandomfs,
If you are connected with POP3 account and using various devices to download emails from the server, then it can create such disturbance in accessing emails. After downloading emails from the server, it get deleted them from the email server.
To fix this issue, enable the function “Leave a copy of messages on the server” dialog box from the account settings option. By enabling it and defining time period, you can even access those emails from the other application like Phone, tablet
    etc.
