Please try temporary connecting your printer to some other power socket, without using any power extention or hub.

If you have Apple care and the problem occured without misuse on your part ... it can be replaced without charge.

My IPad has one half of the screen with vertical multi colored stripes and the other half is normal.  Has anyone had this problem and if so is there a solution?

You could have a hardware issue, but try this and see if it helps.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

Since updating my iPad 2 to IOS6 and activating my icloud for backup, my iPad has permanently locked. Message on screen is "iPad Not Backed Up". I click ok but no response. Cannot turn power off and cannot restore via my pc itunes. What are my options?

Thanks to everyone who responded and related subject helped. Holding the home button and power button simultaneously for 10-15 seconds does unlock the screen. I can now use my ipad again. However, a futher problem has arisen since updating to IOS6 and activating icloud at same time, Although not sure if its related. The problem is that when connected to my PC the itunes message appears 'Cannot read ipad'. It instructs you to restore but keeps timing out after about 1 hour. This maybe internet issue but can't understand why itunes cannot read my ipad. May need to completely erase all content & reset. Or any other suggestions why this has happened?

  • Okay before my ipod power and volume buttons werent working but i never dropped it, then one day i was in a app and my ipod froze so i held the home button down and the screen went a bright green color and isnt showing up in itunes

okay I just recently bought a ipod touch 4thG and im already having issues. recently the power and volume buttons stopped working after i syncd my ipod, i shrugged it off figuring it would come back i could live without it. but today I was on my ipod while it was charging and the screen just froze so i pressed and held the home button (being that's the only button that actually works) then the screen turned this bright yellowish lime green color and its not responding to ANYTHING! my computer isnt even reading it when i plug it up into itunes! so what should i do? can anyone help me? i feel like i just wasted $200...

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My iPhone lost all files and the screen won't turn on

I was using my iphone not suddenly all filies have been removed and the screen won't turn on and the phone is charged

How do you know all files have been removed if the screen won't turn on?
You can try a reset, hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.

    lost/stolen
No app on the iPod is required.
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected, on a computer browser go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

    hi
not even 20 minutes ago i accidentally dropped my iPod touch generation 5. and the screen wasn't responding. it went dark blue/ black color. when you press the on/off button or the home button, all that happens is that the screen light up but not eh background, time and etc. its just a simple black screen with a glow. my iPod has already being cracked before. and i haven't fixed it.
please tell me what i can do. should i reset it or what? my iPod is honestly my life. i backed it up and everything yesterday. im so glad i did that. please help

    Try
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
Unless you purchased the option AppleCare+ extended warranty
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $99 for 16 GB 5G and $149 for the other 5Gs. They do not fix yours.

A third-party place like the following may be able to fix it for less less. Google for more.

Fix it yourself if you are up to it. However, it is hard since yo do not know what is wrong

  • Trying to connect apple tv brand new and the screen says 'activating' setting date and time indefinately

just trying to connect to apple tv for the first time and the screen just stays at 'activating' setting time and date and wont let me sign in to itunes sharing until the date and time thing is fulfilled.  any thoughts on troubleshooting this issue?  thanks

Hi I had same problems and couldn't understand most of the solutions on offer as I'm a bit of a Luddite. The problem seems to be getting ATV to register your network time and date details following the upgrade of software. I use a wireless connection at home and my firewall was blocking the ATV from obtaining this information. Instead of changing router settings, firmware etc (which is beyond me) I solved it this way:
    1. Rather than use my existing wireless connection I connected the ATV to my iPhone personal hotspot (iPhone has 3G connection). It may be another network could also be effective.
    2. ATV connected via the iPhone no problem apparently got the network time and date settings ok.
    3. The previous ATV functionality was restored.
    3. I then disconnected from my iPhone hotspot and re-connected to my main wireless connection. All worked fine.
It seems what you need to do is side-step the router firewall problem. Hope it works for others.

  • I have been able to wake my macmini by hitting the space bar - but since installing 10.7.4 using the 1.4Gb combo this wake method no longer works. Now the macmini shuts down, and I have to switch mains power off and on again before powering up the macmini

Since purchase of my macmini (2011 model) I have been able to wake it from sleep by hitting the (wired) keyboard space bar.
However, I recently updated the OS to 10.7.4 using the combo (1.4Gb) update, since when I cannot wake the macmini in that way.
Now, after putting the macmini to sleep, pressing the spacebar causes it to shut down.
I then have to switch mains power off and on again at the wall socket, after which the macmini starts up from shutdown condition.
I am by no means an expert, and have not been fiddling with settings, so I am in need of advice on what could need resetting to allow me to return to the previous simple 'wake up' approach!
    Thanks.

Reset the SMC > Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    1. Shut down the computer.
    2. Unplug the computer's power cord.
    3. Wait fifteen seconds.
    4. Attach the computer's power cord.
    5. Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.
Followed by resetting the PRAM > Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
    1. Shut down the computer.
    2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    3. Turn on the computer.
    4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
    5. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    6. Release the keys.
Then if those do not fix the problem, you may need to reset your Energy Saver and Keyboard Preferences by readjusting them.

  • I get a blue screen whenever I unlock it and I have to keep turning it off and on to get the slide to unlock to appear

Have iPod touch and I get a blue screen whenever I unlock it & I have to keep turning it off and on to get the slide to unlock to appear.

    Reset the Device:
Hold the power button and the home button down until the device shuts off, then power it back on and see if the problem is resolved.
That won't remove any data. I hope that works.
