My podcasts will not sync (icloud) between PC and iphone 4s and ipad 2

My podcasts will not sync (icloud) between PC and iphone 4s and ipad 2. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure you are using ios 6.1 or later not 6.0.1 (or older). Your iTunes Notes setting for iPad and iPhone in iCloud. Also Notes setting in both devices are in iCloud.
My New iPad using 6.1 and iPhone 4S using 6.1.2. No problem sync Notes on both devices.
I hope this can help.

  • Video Podcasts Will Not Sync; Audio Podcasts Do

I recently upgraded my iPhone 4 to the ios 5. Now when I sync my iPhone to iTunes, my video podcasts will not sync. I have not changed any of my settings, and I noticed "All podcasts" is selected under Podcasts section. Audio podcasts sync fine. All was fine until I did the recent software upgrade. Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

They are there.  They are now under the "Video" app on the first page of your device.  Seems like a pointless change to me.  It took me a couple of days to find mine, too.

  • IBooks will not sync PDF collections with my IPhone. It syncs the collection title but not the content?

My IBooks will not sync PDF content with my IPhone. It syncs the collection title but no content. Both devices are set to sync collections? Any ideas how to fix this?

The 'sync collections' setting does not copy books or PDFs between devices - all it does is if you have the book on both devices and you move it into a collection on one of them, then it will be put into the same collection on the other device.
You will need to sync each PDF that you want on your phone. If you don't currently have them on your computer then connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy them over (that should copy PDFs and/or epubs that are in the iBooks app, not just actual ibooks), and if using a Mac with Mavericks on it do File > Move Books From iTunes in the iBooks app on it, and you can then sync them to your iPhone.

  • HT1766 4 voice memos in iTunes backup from iPhone had ! marks and would not play so I deleted them and although they are still on the iPhone, they will not sync back to iTunes from iPhone.

4 voice memos in iTunes backup from iPhone had ! marks and would not play so I deleted them and although they are still on the iPhone, they will not sync back to iTunes from iPhone.

You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

  • Podcasts will not sync to Classic

I'm at a complete and utter loss.
One day updated podcasts stopped syncing to my iPod Classic.  I've done everything I can think of, google searches, asking friends and can't come up with a solution.
    Here's what I've tried:
    -Checked my anti-virus software
    -Rebooted
    -Restored
    -Uninstalled/Reinstalled iTunes
    -Used a different USB port
    -Used a different connector
-Tried different settings on iTunes, including selecting manual syncing.
I don't know if this problem is hardware vs. software.  Right now here's what's happening.  After one of the restores, I deleted all of my podcasts and resubscribed to see if that would help...it didn't.  I can download audio and video podcasts onto iTunes, when I connect my iPod it indicates that it's syncing but my iPod states "no podcasts".  I'm not sure if perhaps the podcasts are in a different folder under My Music, but last I checked the podcasts were in the Music>Podcast folder.
I don't know if I'm missing some vital step but I'm literally losing my mind trying to figure out what's happened and would love any/all suggestions.
One other thing.  I ran the Sync Diagnostic on iTunes and it said that no iPod could be found.  This is strange because when I do my restore, all of my old music library syncs, just nothing new.

Ah! That explains a lot, Video Podcasts are a mystery on the Classic!
Do you get any messages when you Sync these Podcasts? Some video Podcasts will not play on the iPod Classic and therefore they don't get transferred to the iPod. However, in that situation, I would expect you to see a message telling you something like "Some Podcasts were not transferred to the iPod because they cannot be played on this iPod."
You can't miss the message, so if you don't see it, the Podcasts must be on the iPod somewhere. However, I've noticed that video Podcasts can be almost anywhere on the iPod Classic, not sure why.
For instance, I have video Podcasts from different providers which are all in the iTunes U section in the iTunes library - even though they are not "educational." But, on the iPod, some of them are in the iTunes U section, while others are in the Music section. And guess what? The search facility does not find items in iTunes U! I have inspected the videos in iTunes but I'm unable to see why they should be in different sections of the iPod.
So, first of all, where are these videos in the iTunes library; Podcasts or iTunes U? This may give you a starter about where they are on the iPod and look (obviously) in the iTunes U on the iPod.
If you can't find them in iTunes U, try looking in the Video Playlists. Note, Video Playlists is separate from Playlists, so if necessary, place Video Playlists on your Main Menu. Even then, in the Video Playlists, all is not simple. Also on my Main Menu is Videos/Movies and some of my rogue video Podcasts are in there!
    Example:
    in the iTunes Library;
    Library/iTunes U/History 106B
    Library/iTunes U/Shulton: Old Spice (adverts)
both in the same section, next to each other.
Start from iPod Classic - Main Menu:
    Videos/Movies/Shulton: Old Spice (- only)
    Videos/Video Playlists/iTunes U/Shulton: Old Spice (- only)
    Video Playlists/iTunes U/Shulton Old Spice (- only)
    Playlists/iTunes U/History 106B (-only)
    Spot the difference?
So in other words, I cannot find these Podcasts all in one place on the iPod - to put it another way - iTunes U in one section has Old Spice but not History, and iTunes U in another section has the History but not the Old Spice! I could go on, the History appears under some, but not all of the Music Menu subsections while the Old Spice is not on the Music Menu at all!
It's mind numbing! It's one area where Apple doesn't appear to have got it right and unfortunately, I don't think that it will ever be sorted out. Often, this issue can be as a result of how the Podcast producer tags their videos, which may explain why the problem has just started. But how anyone sorts that out is beyond me too because different models of iPod act in different ways.
So have a good look through your iPod for the missing episodes, good luck, let us know how you get on, do you find them?
    Phil
P.S. On my Videos/Music Videos menu header, the iPod states "No Videos" but when I look in there, I find two videos! ??

  • Podcast will not sync playlist

After signing up for iTunes match smart playlists of podcasts will not show up on iPhone 4s Podcast app. My smart playlist plays podcasts that are downloaded on my i-device in the order that they were downloaded. I can find no reason for these playlists to not show up in the Podcasts app. Up untill I signed up for "Match" this worked just fine.
I would not need to do this if the app would allow me to identify the podcasts that are actualy on my device. There seems to be no way to create a "station" that wil play only unplayed podcasts that are on the device.
I am offten not able to download in the field due to low data, and poor coverage.
After turning off iTunes match my playlists show up just fine.
Is there anyone who knows a way to have match active and still have the podcasts app be usable?

iTunes 10.6 plus iMatch has emptied about half of my smart playlist folders  They did not contain nested playlists nor podcasts but typically were of purchased commmercial albums.  I also can not "edit smart playlist" in any way I have found so far to restore the missing songs!  I haven't had the heart to check ios5 devices yet.  On the positive side, the songs seem to exist in the Library

  • Mp3 will not sync from iTunes desktop to iphone

    Hi All,
I have some mp3 files (voice recordings purchased from Darren Hardy) that I imported into my iTunes Library just fine on my Mac OSX desktop.
However, those files simply will not sync up with my iPhone like the other 1900-odd songs in my library do just fine.
I'm not a total dope, but this one's got me baffled.  I've tried reboots, resyncs, changing the files from music to audiobooks, nothing obvious seems to work.
And BTW, there's no indication in the Get Info box that there is any DRM on them.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Chris.

    Oh, and iTunes 11.4

  • My older classic 160GB shows up in iTunes 11 but will not sync. I have a new PC and transferred all my iTunes to it. Old was XP - new is Windows 7. Does this make a difference?

My older classic (6 yrs or more) will not sync even though is recognized in iTunes 11. I have a new computer with Windows 7 vs my old one that had XP. Does this matter? I had my data transferred and redownloaded what did not transfer but I cannot get the new items purchased and downloaded to sync with my iPod. The data on the iPod has not changed one bit even though it shows as syncing. What do I do? The iPod works perfectly otherwise.

Thanks planb77. Your instructions worked but I had to do a little more than you stated. I did not realize that transferring files to a new computer was not enough. When the iPod synced I was told I needed to "authorize" my new computer to get my iTunes purchases to sync to the iPod. So after the initial sync, I ejected and disconnected the iPod, went into the iTunes store, set up "home sharing" and then authorized the new computer. When that was done I reconnected the iPod and was able to sync all my books and music. The only thing I couldn't do was rename the iPod as iTunes never asked me to. Is there a way to rename it after it has been set by iTunes as "owner's iPod"?

  • My replacement iPod will not sync. I've purchase new songs and albums and can see them on my PC. but they will not sync. When I select the devises from the menu the Sync is greyed out..

I just had to replace my classic iPod, lost all my music (except previously purchased). New (refurbished) iPod will not sync the new music I've just purchased or the CD's I've uploaded. When selecting the Devises in the menu, Sync is greyed out. I need help. When I plug my iPod into the PC and is shows it is syncing it only picks up my previous music,

See this article how to transfer your data? How to back up your data and set up as a new device
Make sure your new computer is authorized in iTunes. Disable autosync in itunes, connect your ipod, right click on it in the device list and choose backup.
This will save data, pictures and settings to itunes. See what's included in this backup here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
Transfer your purchases the same way to copy all apps and bought media from the Store to your computer.
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer to be able the merge your calendars and contacts after your ipod got wiped during the first sync.
The rest of the data can be restored from the backup you made.
    Restoring: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
As mentioned by vazandrew, music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.
There is 3rd party software out there, but not supported by Apple, see this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0

  • ICal will not sync in 10.5.5 after erase and new install!!!  HELP

I had to do an erase and install of Leopard, and now my iCal will not sync.
Thanks to it being such a great application I now sync my iMac at home, my iPhone, my iBook, and my G5 tower at work all to each other, I now depend on it for client meetings and personal dates and just everyday functioning!
How do I fix this? What do I need to do to get my me.com calendar in sync with my iMac and the rest of my computers and iPhone.
I appreciate any and all advice to get this working again. Monday's already here!
APPLE please do not ignore this!
    Thanks
    Steve Amaral

Latest update 5 July. I just downloaded 10.5.4 and at least ical opens! The icon is still grayed out (not sure if that is a sign and symptom of some other problem) Not sure how well the program will work with Entourage and the rest of the applications after reading other posts about 10.5.4 Thanks for all the posts and I followed them to a T with no success until I downloaded 10.5.4
NOTE TO APPLE: I bought this machine to avoid the Window problems! It's nice to see you guys are following the leader! This Leopard OS is a mess! I regret nearly every day I made the switch! The IBM compatible laptop I bought after buying this machine (that's right no multiple mistakes) works flawlessly with Vista.

  • Podcasts will not sync

between iPod touch and computer and I have no acess to podcasts on iPod. Any help welcome !

I experienced similar problems. I can get audio podcasts from the Store into my mac iTunes just fine; they show up in the library and they play on mac. But some don't sync into the iPod. Every time I try, iTunes tells me "sync is complete", but these podcasts are never sent to the iPod. Even more frustrating: lots of other podcasts sync just fine.
I fixed the problem by doing the following. In iTunes podcasts window, control-click on a failing podcast name. Then select "Create AAC Version" from the popup menu. The podcast will sync into iPod next time.
If I have multiple podcasts under a series name, I can fix all at once. Just control-click the series name, then select "Create AAC Version" from the popup. The entire series will be converted and will sync into iPod next time.
Hope this helps anyone else experiencing same problem.
    Technical notes:
I noticed the sync-failed audio podcasts were filetype MPEG. However, all previously synced podcasts were type AAC. Apparently, iPod will handle AAC audio, not MPEG. When I created the AAC versions per podcast, iTunes found the new AAC files and was able to sync them into iPod next time.
In my opinion this discrepancy should generate a warning at the time of sync failure. The user should be prompted to "create AACs" or "ignore podcasts".

  • "Read" status of e-mail will not sync wirelessly between Lotus Notes and 8520??

    HI,
This is my first post and I realize that this might not be the right area to post this question but my question did not seem to fit anywhere else.
I was recently issued a BB 8520 at my new company and we work in a Lotus Notes environment and I believe it is version 7.
This is not happening to anyone else that I know of in our company but when I read an e-mail in Lotus Notes from my desktop, wireless sync will not mark it read on my Blackberry. Also when I read an e-mail on my BB, it will not mark it read in Lotus Notes. However if I delete an e-mail in Lotus Notes, it will delete it from my BB via wireless sync. Finally, when my BB is attached to my desktop via USB, and I do a manual sync from Blackberry Desktop Manager, it will sync the "read" status of my e-mails between Lotus Notes and my BB.
So I guess my question is why are most sync functions working via wireless sync between my e-mail in Lotus Notes and my BB, but not the "read" status of an e-mail? And I know that it works for other users in our company so it's really bothering as it is a whipping to have check e-mails that are still marked as unread (in both Lotus Notes and my BB) when I have already read them.
Thank you and I would really appreciate any help or information that I could provide to our IT Admin at work to help him solve my problem.
    Thank you,
    Matt

  • HT1386 Podcast will not sync to iphone

It's 3/11/14 and I just realized one of my podcasts has not been synching to my phone.  I just thought they stopped the podcast because the show is not live anymore.
My other podcast is still synching up so I didn't notice.
I've unsubscribed and resubscribed to the podcast.  No help.
I can see all the episodes on itunes but they do not show up on my iphone.
I've read other threads and have tried their suggestions and only one has worked so far.  I thought I would post the solution just in case it helps someone else.
    Go to Podcast in itunes
    Select the list option
Right click on the podcast that is not syncing
Get info, select yes, when it asks you if you want to make changes
    Go to the Options
Change the Media type to "itunes u"
Of course you have to have the itunes u app.  It's free and a great app.
My podcast showed up and I can listen to it now.
It's very strange and I hope Apple will fix this problem soon.
I haven't synced it to any new episodes yets so I don't know if I'll have to change the settings for all new episodes each week or it'll just follow the other ones into the itunes U app.
Just in case anyone is wondering, I have a iphone4 and have been listening to these podcasts for years with no problem.  I didn't change any settings except for all these updates itunes suggests.

You can only sync to one iTunes library but you can manage music and videos among different computer/libraries.
It appears that you are trying to sync with a different library.
    - If you want to make the Mac you syncing computer:
--- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by:
    iOS: How to back up
--- Restore the iPod from that backup. Note that synced media like apps and music are not in included in the backup.

  • HT1386 Podcasts will not sync to iPhone

I have the lastest version of OS, iOS, and iTunes.  I can sync the podcast to iTunes and play them on my Mac Mini.  When I plug my iPhone 4S into the Mac with a USB cable, I select the phone and sync to iTunes.  It goes through the 7 step process but the podcasts are not transfered to the iPhone.  The podcast title does show on my iPhone and I click the download icon on the podcast title on my iPhone.  The podcast appears to download.  I can turn off wifi and start the podcast and it will play on my iPhone.  When I am on the train where I really want to listen to the podcast, I click play and the phone tells me I need to use cellular data.  What gives and what am I missing?

Sarvie, have you tried a sync with no songs or video selected? That might be worth a shot. That is how I found out about the "show all music" button - I still had a bunch of songs syncing to the phone although I selected none.
After I finally got a clean sync with no songs, it took two syncs to get all of my music I wanted back on the phone. It was a total of about 2300 songs and the first pass missed about 500 of those. I also found that I had to do a reboot of the phone before each sync.
It is really sad that we have to figure this stuff out in what is supposed to be release quality software.
