My question hasn't appeared in the forum ...

Earlier today I posted a question on this forum - now, there's no sign of it; not in the general forum, or listed in my stuff. This is the first time I've used this forum and I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong? My post was there immediately after I'd submitted it.

Question Mark ? appears on the Folder view

Please not this is NOT a start-up problem - my MacPro seems to be working just fine.
Since I removed a file from my Dropbox a small question mark appears in the top left of any folder I open.
If I click on this question mark the name of the file appears and a pop up box tells me that the item can't be found - well that's normal 'cos I threw it in the Trash.
How do I get rid of this annoying artefact ?

A file had gotten added to the toolbar at some point, adding a shortcut to it there. That file can no longer be found, thus the question mark. To remove it, simply hold down the command key and drag it off the toolbar.

How do you contact adobe for help when your question is not answered in the forum?

There is a chat-now button on most support pages. It is available during the day US time, at least in the US. Not sure about other countries.

A question mark folder appears on the start up after the sound ... with white back ground

im using macbook pro 11in ... i had recently ungraded to os x lion through app store .... i was working on my laptop with firefox open .. i closed my macbook just as i normally do to make it go to sleep (not shutdown) ... i went hope i opend it and it was stuck .. nothing was moving ,.. there was this rainbow wheel instaed of the mouse arrow .. so i pressed and hold the power button and it got shut.. i opened it and now there is the question mark folder after the start up sound ... i dont have my snow lepoard dvds with me .. im traveling ... when i press the option key on the start up i dont get the recovery disk which was an option with the lion os x ... so now wat i do ... help help !!!!

You can try a SMC and PRAM reset, but I think something got fried and your going to need to take it in for service.

A quick question from someone new to the forum, PLEASE help.

Hey Guys/Girls I have had my iphone 3g for over 2 years now I am not under any warranty or anything like that and recently my Iphone 3g power/hold button stopped working. I was wondering if there is anyway to fix it that you guys know about and also how much it would cost me to get it fixed?

I understand that without the contract that i would of had to pay that much, and yes now this much time later with so many newer versions of the phone released it does sound insane that i would have to pay 200$ to replace this one, seeing as i would have to hand this one in for it and they can turn around and fix it for next to nothing and sell it refurbished.
I dont understand how you think 200$ for a 3 year old phone sounds like a reasonable price, unless your loaded or something. I'm not trying to be rude but in my opinion that is way to much money.

I tried searching for it and do not see it.

Go to the "Forum" where you can browse all questions and at the top of the list of questions you will see links to "solved", "unsolved", "my contributions". My contributions will show your questions.

Cannot scale Nivo slider on page, question mark icon appears in centre

Hi I have just paid the fee and downloaded new widgets and tools, and updated my Max to OS X 10.9. FIrst try out getting the Nivo slider onto my page is not working out. It refuses to scale how I want it (into a horizontal shape) and instead keeps bouncing to a large squarish shape, with a question mark icon appearing in the middle. Please can anyone help? There's the rub, when I went to applications the fcp icon wasn't there. Yesterday I dumped a number of old fcp projects becuase I needed the space. Is it possible I dumped the program as well? If so, is there a solution? I am working on a number of recent fcp projects and would hate to lose them. I go to Finder but cannot find any fcp icons connected to the other projects. QTV is there, but no fcp.

I can't print any of the forum pages as Adobe PDF

I was in conflict over asking this question in Acrobat or in the Forum Comments forum, ultimately I decided to ask in Acrobat. Tried searching about this, but no luck.
I'm trying to just print any one forum post as Adobe PDF - not via the View as PDF or Print Preview options. I just want to print the plain jane web browser rendered forum post.
For some reason this doesn't work. Is it an issue on my end with printing to PDF or by design with the forum..?
Firefox browser.
Acrobat 9 pro.
XP Pro.

The steps I was using are exactly as you described.
I just tried printing my own forum post as well and it worked fine. That's really odd.

This also happens for posts in Illustrator for me. From what I can tell, it seems to fail if I try to print any forum post that causes more than one page to be generated in PDF. The forum posts with less than 1 or 2 posts work just fine printing as long as they don't make more than one page. This is very confusing.

How do I only get certain questions appear in the quiz results?

I have created a course through Captivate 6, throughout the course there are questions to guage the learners attention. There is also a quiz at the end. However, captivate includes on the questions throughout the course on the quiz results which I do not want to happen.
Can anyone advise how I can only get certain questions appear on the quiz results please?

Branch aware turns off the playbar in 6 (not in 7 any more, at least not for me).
Could you explain more in detail what you want, because I don't understand it. You want the user to answer all questions, but the score should only show what? If you don't want some questions to have a score added to the Quiz total, you can indicate that in the Properties of that Question slide.
And please, tell the exact number (3 versions of 6), and also if you have to report to a LMS?

Not sure where these hard disk folders are located that you are referring to? Finder, Finder tool bar, Finder side bar, Desktop, Dock?
More then likely they are an alias that not longer point to the orginals, thus the question mark.
I would reboot. Delete icons if an alias and just recreate by dragging from the source. Try right click (control) click to remove.

Use a normal question, and do not add the score to the total score. That will give you a correct score at the end. But the total number of questions, that system variable will still take into account all questions. You'll need a user variable, and calculate its value by subtracting 1 from the system variable cpQuizInfoTotalQuestionsPerProject. Same for the progress indicator if you want to show it?

If you want to allow Review, you'll have to tweak as well. You didn't specify the version, and all those questions I now mentioned.
And my approach, since you talk about only one question: create a custom question, because you'll have total control then.

Since you did not mentioned about sync issues or problem, error messages.
You have to Sync the iTunes library with your iPod.

That folder with the question mark icon means that the MacBook can't find the boot directory. That can either mean it can't find the hard drive or the Operating System data on the hard drive is somehow corrupted.
Put your install DVD into the optical drive (CD/DVD drive) and reboot. Be sure to either use the disc that came with your Mac, or, if you installed a later Mac OS X version from disc, use the newer disc. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c" key on your keyboard (or the Option Key until the Install Disk shows up) until the apple shows up. That will force your MacBook to boot from the install DVD in the optical drive.
Or if you are running 10.7 Lion, boot from the recovery partition (Command +R on boot) and use Disk Utility to repair your OS 10.7 partition.
When it does start up, you'll see a panel asking you to choose your language. Choose your language and press the Return key on your keyboard once. It will then present you with an Installation window. Completely ignore this window and click on Utilities in the top menu and scroll down to Disk Utility and click it. When it comes up is your Hard Drive in the list on the left?
If it is, then click on the Mac OS partition of your hard drive in the left hand list. Then select the First Aid Tab and run Repair Disk. The Repair Disk button won't be available until you've clicked on the Mac OS partition on your hard drive. If that repairs any problems run it again until the green OK appears and then run Repair Permissions. After repairing use Startup Disk from the same menu to choose your hard drive for restarting from your hard drive.
If your hard drive isn’t recognized in Disk Utility then your hard drive is probably dead.
