My Sandisk cruzer thumb drive 4.0GB (which is very old, roughly 10 years and I'm not sure about the model) reads "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer" when inserted in my Macbook pro 2010. How do I get it to work?
My Macbook Pro 2010 with the latest OS does not open a particular Sandisk Cruzer 4.0GB (which is an old model, about 10 years) thumbdrive with the message "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer". Will I be able to read it on my macbook?
Is it readable in a Windows computer? If not then you can try Disk Utility to repair the drive-- although that may be dangerous too.
I haven't had this problem so I out of safe ideas. There are ustilies out there. I used the seach term "repair flash drive Mac OS X" to locate some of these.
If the data is essential there are pay-for services to recover data looked the price was in the range $50 - $1000

It may just not be configured to SHOW.
1. Finder>Preferences.
2. MISSING FROM DESKTOP: Make sure under "General" for "Show these devices on the desktop" that you have a CHECK mark under "hard disks" as well as "external disks" (if you have a dash that indicates specific items are set to hide and others are not)
3. MISSING FROM SIDEBAR: Check the same items under the "Sidebar" section if you are missing them from the Sidebar of Finder.

I purchased the Logitech F310 game controller for my 2011 MacBook Pro. How do I get the driver installed for it. The Disk that came with the controller is a mini disk and will not insert into my laptop.
May not make a difference anyway. The Logitech support site does not show drivers for Mac OS for the F310:

I'd contact their support to find out if there is a Mac driver available, and if they can either give you a web link to get it, e-mail you the software, or snail-mail you a standard-size disk with the drivers. -
I just got a new macbook pro. How do I get the 900+ songs that I took off of cds into iTunes on my computer from my iPhone. I had no problems syncing the music I had purchased from iTunes. I have tried to sync it using iTunes match, this did not work. I would like to have access to my full library without going into the user profile of my old computer, which is on my new computers hard drive. I would like to eventually delete the old profile so that I have more space on my hard drive.

I just upgraded from my 2008 MacBook to a new Macbook Pro. How do I get my time capsule to work on my new MacBook? I did data migration, but the time capsule did not pick it up. Any ideas?
If you migrated all the info from time machine to your new MBP. The TM will usually ask to connect to the old backups.. sorry I am not sure is this what you want to do.. Personally I think you start a fresh backup.
BTW Time Capsule does not do anything.. it is a dumb hard disk in a box.. it is TM that does everything.

Keep getting a "the disk you inserted was not readable by this computer" when I insert my printer cord into either USB port. Recently installed a portable hard drive for back up purposes. Related?
Does your printer have a slot for an SD card? Is there are card in the slot? If so, the computer is trying to mount that card as an external device. It might be corrupted so that it can't be read.

If you are talking about setting up your iCloud Account for the Mac features, then that is imcompatible. That was the main feature of Lion 10.7 and iOS 5. You will need to upgrade your OS in order to receive iCloud features for the Mac. All MacBook Pros except for "Core Duo" models can run at least Lion. To verify this, click "About This Mac" from the Apple menu in the top left. If it says "Core 2 Duo", "Core i3/i5/i7" it can run Lion. Even better, if your MBP is newer than late 2007 and you have AT LEAST 2GB of RAM you can run Mountain Lion. A 20$ upgrade. However if you can only run Lion you will need to call Apple as I do not believe Lion is sold on the App Store anymore.

- Verify the file and disk formats on your camcorder and on your friend computer whether they support what you want to do. Also, if you are using a specific application to do the task, you may need to verify an application whether it supports the file format (e.g. MPEG4, Apple Intermediate Codec).
- Verify the device cable type whether Mac OS X 10.4.x supports.
- Verify the device compatibility with Mac OS X 10.4.x.
- Check an available firmware or driver for the camcorder that has developed after Mac OS X 10.4.4.
- Try diagnosing and repairing local hard disk and camcorder's drive directory.
- Verify disks permissions issue.
- Verify whether the disk is TOO warm or cold to read.
- If every troubleshooting does not solve the issue, consider to reformat the camcorder drive.

Whenever I insert my verizon air card into my MBA, I get the message "the disc you inserted was not readable by the computer", with the option to either ignore or eject. I select ignore, and am able to connect to the internet, but don't know why this happens. Also, the air card is not showing up as a peripheral on my desk top. Any ideas why this might be happening and how to fix it?
When I unplugged (power) and plugged in again to restart it, yes, I heard it spin and click. Not since then though. I assumed it went to sleep and since the computers don't recognize it they won't wake it.

It depends on what connections the camera has. If it has USB, just plug it in. If it is networked, put the camera on the network and then access it from your Mac using whatever software or browser access is directed by the camera instructions. If it has a purely video or analog connection (coaxial, RCA, etc), you will need some kind of video interface in addition to the Mac.

HAD a 2008 MacBook Pro with Adobe CS4 installed
now have a brand new MacBook Pro (and used my time machine to back up from my old mac) and when trying to open InDesign files - gives a list of plugins that are missing and will not open the document.
I'm a graphic designer- so this is not an option..
Please Help!You can install Adobe Programs ONLY from the originals installer which is provided from Adobe. Time Machine (which is a form of migration) will not result in working Adobe programs. As Bob said, use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, which is also working for CS versions, to wipe out everything from Adobe and start with a clean installing.
I am not sure, if CS4 is running on Maverick, at least it is not supported officially, your are here alone. It might be so that you have to upgrade your software to a later version. -
Please see question above, but also note, I have the Applecare Protection Plan but am unable to get through to anyone on a weekend and I desperately need to use my laptop this weekend. I can't log in at all now as I've forgotten my admin password. A few weeks ago I also changed the password on my husband's new MacBook Pro and again forgot the password. I spoke to someone at Apple and they helped me to reset it within minutes, by restarting the computer holding Command+something else (I can't remember what it was). A black screen with writing came up and I had to type in something like "password" (not sure exactly). Anyway, this was a very quick and efficient process but I didn't write it down unfortunately. Does anyone out there know what to do? Thanks in anticipation
