You're welcome! I feel your pain - both "closest" Apple Stores to me are almost 2 hours away. When I called for another problem under warranty the AppleCare guy checked my zip code and found an AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) 20 minutes from me I had no idea existed. They diagnosed the problem (bad bluetooth keyboard) and ordered a new one for me. The AppleCare person will probably use this http://www.apple.com/buy/locator/service/ so you can check it now. And AppleCare could well diagnose your problem over the phone anyway. And I feel certain it wasn't something you did inadvertently.

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem. Apple can do the exchange there.

My screen has a vertical black line

I have only been using my new iPad for a few hours and a vertical thin black line has appeared on the screen. I presume I have a defective iPad and need a replacement. Is that correct?

Me too. It is a band of black and colored lines running vertical in landscape and horizontal in portrait about two inches wide. It's cover over all apps and all the time. Reboot, restore is no help but touch function works fine across the stripes. The screen capture from the iPad1 does not appear the band of black and colored lines. It shows a normal screen. The answer when asked at the Genius Bar is, they never seen this problem before. And the solution that fix the problem may be expensive. But when searching on Google with the keyword "iPad half screen black" it's return 64,800,000 results. Some user comment that the video display hardware on the system board has been damaged. It's possible something has been dislodged or come loose. But, again, why this happened to many many users in the same period? In most cases the iPad never drop. It's happened immediately with no sign of warning. There are no ways to fix it right now. The iPad1 is just 2 years released. Is it too early to replace with the iPad3?

You can try giving it a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot. See if that helps.
But if it doens't or if hte issue repeats you may want to make an appointment at your local apple store and have them check it out.

Seems obvious that the iphone is seriously damaged from either the dropping impact or the water or both. Your choices are: (a) repair [Apple Store or a commercial company that specializes in this], or (b) new iphone.
For (b), if you restore from your backup (these backups are typically done every time you plug your iphone in to your computer, when the phone is working of course; or from the cloud if you were using icloud) to a new iphone, it will essentially be just like the old one was. That option shows up as "restore" when you connect a new phone to your computer, or you can simiarly restore form icloud if you were using icloud.
Water or impact damage to an iphone is usually something that cannot be resolved through online discussion groups. You need to take the phone to someone who understands how to open up the phone and inspect for damage and give you an assessment on repair.
For me, I'd get the new iphone (which can be expensive) because I expect that the old damaged one, even if "repaired or refurbished," will never work 100% properly again.

Display malfunction- vertical lines on screen - blue, green, and white lines

My 3 week old passort shut down after running out of battery. After recharging, lines appeared on the display and won't go away. I tried serveral restarts.
There are blue and green vertical lines on the left edge of the display and four our so white lines near the bottom of the screen.
Any suggestions?

When I am browsing the web, sometimes the screen will glitch and black lines and boxes appear. Why is this happening and how can I stop it?

Do a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears. If that does not help take it to an Apple store genius bar for evaluation.

NOTE: If you do get the battery replaced yourself, becareful when removing the screen because there is a special cable connecting to the iPod itself and the screen and its very fragile. If that break, then you also need to replace the screen as well.

You can set up a out of warranty repair for it via Apple using this link. They don't actuallly repair the iPod, but instead replace it with a same model/capacity that is refurbished.

There are also several third party repair centers out there who will be able to replace the damaged LCD for a much lower cost. Just do a simple Google search for "iPod Classic repair" and you should get a number of results to work with.

I bought a first generation ipad for my 90 year old mother so she could kep in contact. This has worked well for about 3-4 years but suddenly the Mail says it cannot find the server. Safari can find it, so what could be goin on?

The ipad is first generation and is not recently updated, as my Mum doesn't own a computer. We set it up through my niece's PC, and she's not currently available. It's in the UK with a btinternet account, which is, I think, run byYahoo. The Safari route allows access (although the icons are only partially visible - an update issue I'd guess), but it shows that we have the right account server name and password, etc. This happened once before and my brother took it to an Apple store and they fixed it in a trice, but he dosesn't know what they did. Next appointment is a week from now, so does anyone have a suggestion in the meantime? Thanks for any help.

What could be wrong? We call the Output server in all other env and it works

We have a dot net application that calls the Output service.GeneratePDFOutput. The dot net application works in all env except our System Test env. In Sys Test, we get an error.
I've verified between env, and the User is the same in all env. The Role is the same. The security is same (i've attached jpg). The form is in the repository.

ITouch camera blinks green and black, sometimes purple

I have an iTouch 4G and a few months ago I dropped it, there are cracks but everything worked fine, now after five months the camera will not work. The screen blinks green and black and sometimes purple, I reset it, restored it, but it still doesnt work. I'm sure it wasn't from dropping it because it's the camera on the back that does not work. I'm still eligible for the warranty but will they not honor it because of the cracked screen? Thanks
