My System fonts are rendering poorly from Muse

I usually like to not use system fonts as much as I can, but it's inevitable with a project I'm working on. My problem is they render like garbage when I export the site. Is it supposed to work? Are we not to expect that they would look good? Or do they only work with big text? I'm using an opentype monotype imaging font.
I think i'm going to have to go back out to photoshop and set text, save as an image and then import it to muse. Huge inconvenience.
Anyone have advice? Anyone have different experience? Same experience?

One tip for improving the quality of rasterized text frames is to give them a fill color.
This may not always be allowed by your design. However, if your text frames are currently transparent, but are always going to be appear on top of something with a uniform color (page fill, for example), you might as well fill the text frames with the same color. This will improve the quality of the rasterized text frames.

Hello,
Recently i installed some new fonts, a lot of Helvetica fonts, and now when i use certain applications, the fonts are just outlines. for example, when i open up the dashboard, all the text and numbers on the calendar and weather widgets are just white outlines with no fill and it's very hard to read. is there anything i can do to restore the fonts??

[Solved, install dejavu font] Libre Office fonts are rendered as boxes

Been a while since I've posted and thank you in advance for any help offered.
My issue is pretty straight forward: all my menus and fonts in Libre Office Writer show up as boxes instead of letters. I have searched the wiki and forums for a solution but most people who have this problem fix the issue by installing the right language pack.
As you can see below that isn't my issue:
local/libreoffice-common 4.1.4-3 (libreoffice)
common files for LibreOffice - a productivity suite that is compatible with other major office suites
local/libreoffice-en-US 4.1.4-3
English (US) language pack for LibreOffice
local/libreoffice-writer 4.1.4-3 (libreoffice)
Word Processor Application for LibreOffice.
I have no plug-ins installed apart from hunspell, mythes and hyphenation. I removed these packages but there was no change.
This machine is a Dell laptop with the Intel video chip and thus I have the correct driver installed and everything else works fine:

I tried nuking my Libre Office directory in my home directory but that yielded no change. My .gtk-* directories don't contain anything specific to LO.
These are the only fonts I've added to this install (thanks boohoomil) and are not customised in any way:
local/cairo-infinality-ultimate 1.12.16-3 (infinality-bundle)
Cairo vector graphics library with respect-fontconfig, expose and Ubuntu patches (infinality-bundle)
local/fontconfig-infinality-ultimate 2.11.0-15 (infinality-bundle)
A library for configuring and customizing font access (includes generic fontconfig package and ultimate settings by bohoomil).
local/freetype2-infinality-ultimate 2.5.2-3 (infinality-bundle)
TrueType font rendering library with Infinality patches and custom settings by bohoomil (infinality-bundle).
I have gone so far as to try snapwm and Xfce4 but there is no difference in the font rendering in LO.
I'm stymied about this because I have used this setup previously on this and two other machines. Any ideas?

I thought of that but, as I use the infinality-bundle, which fonts do I need to test this hypothesis? Or can you suggest one I can install from the official repos?
[edit] Just after posting this I remembered that LO, as noted on the wiki somewhere, suggest one install the ttf-dejavu font. After installing this font everything is now showing correctly.

How many fonts are free prvoide from Adobe?

Dear Sir/Miss:
I want to know how many fonts users can free download the fonts?
Cause someone tell me, if you install Adobe reader, you can use their fonts for free !? and your system also will install these fonts?

My systems preferences are not saved from each previous session! Mark

Each time I start up my new iMac computer, the system preferences I set up in my previous session are lost! Can anybody help me figure out what I need to do to make my preferences persist?

Usually a loss of preferences after reboot or logout is attributed to user permission issues.
First reboot your system then try this:
1. Open a Finder window.
2. Choose "Go" from your top menu bar.
3. Choose "Home"
4. Choose "File from your menu bar.
5. Choose "Get info"
6. Open the "Sharing & Permissions section using the disclosure arrow.
7. Unlock the padlock in the corner with your password.
8. Click the little gear button.
9. Choose "Apply to enclosed items"
10. Once process is done set your preferences and attempt a restart of the system.

How to export fields which are rendered false from a page?

I have a requirement to export the data to excel, i am able to do it using export button.
but the problem is i need to export the all the fields which are there in the VO query but some of them are not renderd on the page.
Please suggest some solution for this.

All self-hosted web fonts are deleted after update to latest Muse version (2014.3)

All the self-hosted web fonts are deleted after updating Muse.
It is necessary to import the self-hosted fonts again and then redefine every paragraph style to make it work again.
This is an extra hour of work for every site using self-hosted fonts.
Please make sure to improve this on the next update-release of Adobe Muse.

the site is directly uploaded using MUSE Upload to ftp host. When I open it with ftp client, there is off file of etelkawidemedium in fonts file.
And I have tried to upload plain webpage with the same web font - not made in Muse and it works.

System Fonts not showing in the font list

After I upgraded Adobe CC 2014.3.1.44, CL78964 on my Windows 8 (64-bit) computer, none of the system fonts are listed within Muse.
Understand two things, one. This used to work fine. I was able to see all of the system fonts, now only the ones on this list show up. Two, and fonts that I add via the web kit doesn't show up either.
I have uninstalled, then reinstalled. Nothing. I have also looked for the elusive fonts.db, which cannot be found on my system. Ideas?

System fonts Image graphics / Web Fonts

is it really necessary to transform every system font used in any Adobe Muse project into an image graphic? I also use Adobe Muse to make keynote or powerpoint similar presentations in HTML/CSS. Which has from my point of view many advantages to offer by placing the files on a company's web server. Thus, I don't see a reason why Web Safe Fonts are not transformed into image graphics while other System Fonts will be changed into image graphics.
Adding new Web Fonts directly in Adobe Muse is much easier and less complicated than creating kits on the typekit website and then adding the code snippets to every web page which uses the desired web font. A bit too complicated for my taste.

Missing system font?

The font in the property boxes (I don't know the exact name
of these elements) in DW 2004 is pixelized.
How could this happen? Which system font uses DW?

If any of the critical system fonts are missing, you should be able to use something like "pacifist" to extract the missing fonts from your OSX install disks and replace them. Font problems can cause all manner of strange behavour.

System font failover problem

I have a Flex 3 application, where Burmese and Thai device fonts are rendering OK in Flex3 text controls (e.g. mx Label, TextInput), but not in FTE-based text controls (e.g. flashx TextLine).
However, certain fonts including Chinese, Arabic and Hebrew all failover correctly in both types of text control.
Are there known issues or specific font sets not supported for failover to system fomts?
I'm currently testing with Player 10.3 on Mac in Safari/Chrome/FF.

HT2509 system fonts only showing up

I have no idea what's happening - my system fonts are the only thing that shows up in my CS5 applications. All my fonts are sitting in the library/users folder and appear just fine in fontbook. I've now been unable to work for hours and near tears...please help!

I am using Font Agent Pro as a font manager and am wondering if there's a conflict with it and Apple's Font Book.
Yes, in a sense. If you always open and close your fonts through FAP's interface, then it's no problem leaving Font Book on your Mac. It will simply sit there and take up a small amount of disk space.
That said, it's still a nuisance having more than one font manager on your computer at a time. Say you disable all of the fonts in Font Book that you can. Assuming the fonts are still in the /Library/Fonts/ folder, you then turn them on and off with FAP. The problem then is which orders are the applications going to believe? Are the fonts active, according to FAP? Or inactive, according to Font Book?
Also, if you double click on any font to quick activate it, both FAP and Font Book will activate the font. So you will find yourself confused fairly often when you deactivate the font in FAP, but they still keep showing up in your applications as active. That would be because Font Book is still holding it open.
So if FAP is going to be your main font manager, then copy Font Book off to another disk for safe keeping (so you don't have to use Pacifist or an OS install to get it back on your system if you need, or want to), and then remove it from your hard drive.
Definitely don't remove the /System/Library/Fonts/ folder! If you remove Lucida Grande from its default location in any way, you will lose control of your desktop. The only way I can think that Taavi managed to accomplish this was moving files around booted to an external drive, or from another Mac via FireWire Target Mode. It's impossible to do on the same drive your booted to. You'll lose control of the desktop every time if you remove Lucida Grande. Although Taavi may have made his/her copy to the /Library/Fonts/ folder. That at least would still leave an active copy of Lucida Grande somewhere, but I highly recommend against that sort of handling of the system fonts.

Using Linotype Fonts Gold Makes system fonts showing improperly

Hi Macomunity,
Sometimes I do graphic design, so I'm in the need of having thousand of fonts installed in my system but, when Linotype Fonts Gold Collection is installed, some of my system fonts are wrongly displayed. For example, the preview pane (where you can preview documents) shows symbols instead redeable fonts, also, some webpages are not properly displayed, the same when previewing PDF's. I found erasing all the Linotype Fonts solves the problem, but I need those fonts because I do graphic design. I can imagine there is some kind of conflict between system fonts and Linotype fonts. I install the new fonts in the USERS folder in order to avoid conflicts, or that's what I think at the least.
I would appreciate your help for this.

Wow mate, your reply seems to be the master key of the problem. I don't tink putting an outgoing link should bother the Macommunity, I mean, the goal is supporting people, not making tribes lol Which in fact, I don't like the Mac Ads because it feels superiority over the others faliure and that's not genuine superiority, nor something beyond materialism. Apple should be even more spiritual and transcend. Also, laughing of others OS faliures is like laughing at people with mental problems. However, I laugh of Windows too. Anyway, quite btw today haha...
Well... Here is a reply of a guy which says: "I run my system with ALL the fonts in the System folder, because I want all
users on this box to be able to use all the fonts. I have nothing in the
User font folders, because I do not want my documents changing appearance
depending on who opens them". This explains quite a bit the problem. I also tryed deleting the font cache, but the problem still active. Will see what happens now.
