My video and audio chat wont work! PLEASE HELP! : )

Question

hello recently my video and audio chat stopped working for no apparent reason. i just got back to school and are on their internet network and i cant video or audio chat. It just worked last semester and while I was at home so i don't see why it wouldn't work. it says that my remote IP address is invalid when i try to accept video chats and when i try to send them it says that i am not responding. this is what it said the last time someone sent me a video chat:

The Remote IP is Invalid message is about your Buddy.
They are doing something like connecting twice to the same router:-
Either by Wifi and Ethernet (but also between their own router over Ethernet and WiFi to a neighbour)
Started to use a MIMO device
Have Internet Sharing On and creating a second link to the internet via another computer/device
Using Parallels which turns On Internet Sharing AND creates two VPNs in System Preferences > Network that need turning Off.
Basically the iChat at the other end appears to be at two (or more) places on the Internet. (it's a bit like picking up the handsets for the phone in every room in the house).
