My website looks different in internet explorer.

Greetings and thanks in advance for great service that we provide
I created a website in iweb www.webworldpr.com in Firefox looks good in Internet Explorer looks different. I can do. I would like to know is web site maestro can solve this problem.

The iWeb for Musicians website is optimized with Web SIte Maestro and appears to work OK in IE 7 & 8. If I look at it using Safari User Agent the background image drops out etc.
The latest version of WebCrusher has this....
"iWeb websites are known for their incompatibility with Internet Explorer. We tested hundreds of iWeb sites and came up with a step by step guide to making your iWeb site work with Internet Explorerand built this functionality into WebCrusher."
I do have WebCrusher but I haven't tested this feature as I don't have a PC running WIndows anymore.
The only way I can think that I could help you out here is if you send me a copy of a Domain file or the folder of published files and I'll run it through the app to see if it fixes your problem before you have to think about buying it.

  • Why does my website look different in Internet Explorer

Hello there I'm currently working on an eportfolio for school, however when using internet explorer my navigation bars look like this
However in google chrome it looks like this
Please help me I used cs6 and this is my website http://jacks-eportfolio.site90.net/
    Please let me know.

It depends how much you want to learn about html and css.
If you're not all too interested/worried about web design in general (not really planning to become a pro web designer), you're fine with the current layout. It functions and isn't going to hurt you financially if it breaks  under certain settings.
If you do have an interest in professional web design, you really should learn to code before you "learn Dreameaver". That way you can skip all of the traps built into it for novice designers (especially APDivs).
Take some time to run the tutorials for HTML and CSS here: http://www.w3schools.com
That will give you a lot of the basics.

  • Website requires minimum browser: Internet Explorer 6.0

I am trying to work in an image based website.  The message I recieve when I try to get into the site:  This image flow resource requires one of the following miminum browser versions:  Internet explorer 6.0.  The browser you are currently using is Apple-Mac Safari Version 5.0.  Any suggestions?

Can you tell us what the website address is?
    There are two possibilities.
First, the site is doing simple browser sniffing because their layout only looks good in IE - in which case you might be able to trick the server into thinking you have a different browser (Safari - Preferences - Advanced - Show Develop Menu, then close preferences window and use the Develop menu - User Agent - Internet Explorer 7).
Or second, the site uses Windows-based ActiveX to integrate site code with Windows - in that case, there's nothing you can do to get it working on a Mac (other than install Windows through a virtualization system such as Parallels Desktop, VMWare Fusion, or Boot Camp).
Even Microsoft is ashamed of IE6, and wants everyone to upgrade it to a newer version. Websites coded solely for Internet Explorer - and IE6 at that - are a thankfully dying breed.

  • Why Templates text looks uggly in Internet Explorer ?

    Hi folks,
I´m doing a kind of a job that will make use of the iWeb templates. It will be easier for the task.
The problem is that most of the audience will navigate to the site by IE (as almost 80% of the planet does, unfortunetly ... lol). Right now I´m doing a test in front of a PC using XP and IE6. The text of the site looks very, very uggly.
As I´m a mac user for a long time and work with good computers (1 Mac Pro and 1 MacBook Pro) I guess I´m used to "good image".
On iWeb templates many different fonts are used, probably fonts that are not web safe as I have read through this forum, right ?
The resolution of the monitor that I´m doing this test is not too bad (1024 x 768), so it should looks ok, right ?
Checking the folders contents of the site when it is "saved to a folder" before changing text of the pages, I could noticed that most of the contents (paragraphs and texts) are .png files. Images ! Is it a way and the only way to make texts and paragraphs look nice in Internet Explorer ?
By the way, is it a safe font size for IE or for general internet ?
    Thanks in advance ....

The rule in your CSS that's causing the squishing is this one:
    .right_side_text {
        letter-spacing: 0;    line-height: 5px;
        margin: auto;
        padding: 0 0 0 20px;
I don't think that you need margin: auto
It's easy to test it in Firefox using the Firebug plugin.  You can edit the CSS "live."  However, it's not so easy to test it in IE so I'm not sure what will happen there if you edit it.

  • HELP! Please :) my website looks different in different browsers. Link boxes are showing in IE!!

Please help me!  I'm pretty new to web design.  Built this website from scratch - designed in photoshop and put together in dreamweaver.  I launched the site and it looks great in safari, but had a friend look at it with explorer and the blue link boxes (the one that lets you know you have something linked in dreamweaver) are showing up on the interent explorer browser and I can only assume there are issues in other browsers as well.  Please help if you can.  Here is a link to my website:   www.shandryntrumble.com  Thanks

Thanks for your help!Should I create an external style sheet?  I'm still unsure of where and what to put in the document.  Where are the CSS  tags?  And what exactly do I place in them?  Sorry, I'm so new to this.  Thanks for your patience.

Bad information.  You don't need a class for this.  Simply add the following CSS code to your style sheet.  An external style sheet is preferred but it if you don't have one yet, add this code to the CSS inside the  tags of your HTML document. /*remove borders from all linked images*/a img    Nancy O.

  • Can't open a website that supports only Internet Explorer

hi, i can't open a website that supports only Internet Explorer (high-q.co.il - which i need badly for my bachlor dagree)!!
my mac runs OS X 10.9.2 system operation. i cant open this site with: chrome,opre,firefox,safari...
    what should i do?

Try changing your browser agent using the Developer menu your browser preference can enable.
If that doesn't work, complain to your college dean that the website violates accessibility laws, and should follow http://www.w3.org worldwide conventions to ensure accessibility.  Do not enter any personal information if you are forced to use Windows to browse the website, as it may be insecure.

  • Why does Muse website look different Mac vs. PC

Why do adobe muse websites look different on a Mac vs. PC? www.915day.com for example. Looks great on my mac, but when you go to the PC version it looks zoomed in at least 25-35%? Why? (I have thus adjusted it to look good on a PC.) Frustratingly, to center the Logo for one platform, means to put it off center on the other. Defeats the whole purpose of Parallax scrolling. Also, who would pay so much a month to the creative cloud if they can't even offer their clients continuity? I understand there is a difference between older browsers and new, but it tests the same way even on a new browser (Windows 8 browsers). I have tried adjusting the canvas to the exact measurements of the screen on my PC but it renders the same. Also I have turned on the HiDPI just to see if that was the case. Still no fix. There is only one instance of this in the forums and it has still gone unanswered. So I am asking in greater detail why this is an issue.
    Anyone?

I tried to check the site display in multiple browsers on both Mac and windows , but I was not able to verify the issue.
I believe you have already resolved the issue.
    Thanks,
    Sanjit

Just wondering why my websites look different on Windows and Macs?? It changes the spacing on the Windows machines so it thoughts off the looks of the site. Any way to fix this?

There are 3rd party apps you can get that can help a bit, but I think the main answer is that if you are using templates and graphic rich features of iWeb, the code it generates is pretty complex, a side effect of making it easy to use. All that code gives wiggle room to different browsers and generations of browsers to reproduce it differently.
My approach is just to keep things as simple as possible, and start with blank pages rather than templates. Because I keep my pages streamlined, they're universally compatible.

  • Website looks different on PC's internet

I successfully downloaded my website. I've pulled it up on several Mac's and it looks great... but it's completely bunkter when I try to view it on different PCs. The format is different with differnt fonts, things aren't aligned right and it takes a long time to load.
Is there something I can do to fix this, like stream-lining the format or something?
    Thanks
    Erin

    Erin:
First did you use Web Safe Fonts? If not then the Windows machines will substitute a font it has available for the missing font. You can force a font box to turn into an image file so it will look the same on all computers but lose the option to select text, etc. To do that add a drop shadow to the font and set the opacity to zero using the Font pane.
Be advised that PCs running Internet Explorer are ages behind all of the other available browsers for PCs and never will display the site as good as Safari or Firefox.
Can you give us the URL so we can examine it first hand?

  • Why do I see two different versions of a website on Firefox and Internet Explorer? The version on Firefox is an older version of the website.

I use Intuit to maintain a website. After I update the website, Firefox continues to display the previous version while the revised version is displayed on Internet Explorer. I have tried using both Firefox and Internet Explorer when I revise the website, but that does not appear to make any difference. The version on Firefox usually updates to the new version with in a day or two, but the change on Internet Explorer is immediate.

    Try clearing your browser cache.
Tools > Clear Recent History... - hit Details and make sure only Cache is selected, then select Everything and hit the Clear Now button.

  • JPEG Export Looks Saturated in Internet Explorer

I see this question in many forums and online but without a solution.
JPEG exports (sRBG) look overly saturated when viewed in Internet Explorer browser, including when uploading/viewing in Facebook, etc, etc.  In other words, the colors looks different between Lightroom and Internet Explorer.  (Colors looks the same between Lightroom and Photoshop though.)
As point of reference, when you download a sample JPEG image from Canon EOS's website (used to show sample images from their cameras) you see that those images also use sRGB profile.  They also look exactly the same no matter how you view them (Lightroom, Photoshop, Internet Explorer, Safari, etc.).
What is Lightroom doing to photos upon export to JPEG and you need Lightroom or Photoshop to see the same colors?
I saw some talk about it had to do with Lightroom presets and that you had to zero those out?  Any ideas from Windows users?

Have you got Firefox or Safari on your machine?  In which case, how do the images look in either of those browsers?  Or, if you're using Windows 7, how do the images look in Windows photo viewer?
Also, can you say what monitor you are using please?
I think it might be a colour management issue.  Internet Explorer is not colour managed (not even IE9), Lightroom and Photoshop are colour managed, so is Windows 7 photo viewer (but not the XP equivalent), so are Firefox and Safari (but not Chrome).  When there's a difference between how something looks in an non-colour-managed program and colour-manged programs then it's worth checking for colour management issues.
If your monitor has a wider gamut than sRGB, then you would expect IE9 and other non-managed programs to look over-saturated.

  • PDFs display differently in Internet Explorer 9 versus FireFox

We use Adobe Reader X in all cases (10.4.1)
On old computer, we have a website we go to using Internet Explorer (version 8.x on XP) where we ope/save & print to a PDF file. The information on the PDF prints vaules in a certain order - for example:   A,B, C    --works great--this is what we want it to do.
We buy a new computer, Windows 7 with IE9, and the PDF displays with the same values in this order:  C,B, A  -   not good, do not want that.
We try FireFox on the new computer  -- works great --just like it did on the old computer.
What setting in IE9 is causing this PDF to display differently than in FireFox (or IE8)?
UPDATE:  We did load IE8 on Windows 7 (by uninstalling IE9) and the PDF works fine --so it's not just something unique to FireFox. IE9 is displaying information in this PDF differently--why?

Add/update these params in your web.xml and redeploy so the style class names are not optimized and client debugging is easier.

  • Editing text in Mac showing up differently on Internet Explorer (CS4)

Help! New to Contribute & using version CS4. I work with the Mac install. In editing text for a website my final product looks right to me in Contribute and on Safari but doesn't look correct (after being published) on Internet Explorer. My titles are slightly cut off at the top and my text appears disjointed around photos. Is there some sort of work-around? I suppose I can use smaller font for the titles but I'm using what was used in the past (and what appears correct). The text is a big problem and isn't wrapped around the photos even remotely like I edit and publish them on the Mac. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Mac+Win=Me wrote:
It could be a problem in the templates.
In all honesty, I just tried pasting text into the Design section of a page.
It doesn't even work on my Mac, and it took three tries to get it to actually paste in VIsta.
I had to go to the code and reformat it after it did paste, but it eventually went.
I don't work with templates much.
Well, that actually makes me feel a little better, if it makes sense to feel better to learn that it could be the expensive software and not just us. I guess I will view this as an opportunity to improve me coding speed :-) Thanks for the feedback.
