My wife and I have the same apple ID. Can I change my iCloud without deleting everything?
So I don't know what to do here, I want to change my iCloud to be my own but when I press on the delete button I am warned that everything will be deleted. However I would like my wife to retain the iCloud account on her device. Will it delete everything, on what will be her own iCloud account, if I delete it on my iPad?
Create a new Apple ID for him: Create an Apple ID
Sign out of the old Apple ID and in with the new Apple ID on his devices in these places:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive
Settings > FaceTime
Settings > iCloud > Delete account > Sign back in with new ID
Settings > Game Center
You can keep using the same Apple ID for purchases.
If you want to have separate purchases:
Settings > iTunes & App Stores

Can two Apple IDs be linked so that they can share data? My iMac and iPad have the same Apple ID and sync contacts, bookmarks, etc. My wife's iPad has a different Apple ID. Can it be linked somehow to mine to share contacts etc?
No. You cannot link your contacts to hers. However, you can use Home Sharing to share the information:

Can my wife and I use the same Apple ID?
You can certainly use the same ID for an itunes store account to share purchased items. However for icloud, it's designed so that each account pertains to one user for each of his/her devices. The main purpose of icloud is syncing and backups of iOS devices. Do you really want to have the same email account, same contacts, calendars, notes, reminders, etc? Usually a couple needs to have separate icloud accounts. They can share calenders if they want.
The danger of two users using one account is if one user edits or deletes (on purpose or accidentally) data, that will propagate to the other user's devices. -
My wife and I share the same apple id, we just updated our iphones. When we were asked if we wanted to share the same apple id for icloud we said yes, now our phones can't face time, please help?

Verizon iPhone 5, 64GB black - is anyone having issues with a very choppy conversation while talking on the phone? Both my wife and I have the same phones and are both having the same issue. We can only hear every other word of the person we are talking to. This happens at home, on the road and in the downtown area while calling both cellphones and landlines. It is intermittent, so we don't know exactly when it will reoccur. Absolutely no problem with data. The data speed is great.

While there may be an issue in your area, it is suggested that you don't use wireless service if it's a life or death situation, such as the one you've described. -
Should my wife and I use the same Apple account or separate accounts?
Should my wife and I use the same account or our own accounts?
We each have our own iPhones and we share one iPad.
We have one computer where we use iTunes (our main desktop at home).
On iTunes on our computer, sometimes we are logged into my wife's iTunes account and sometimes we are logged into mine.
My iPhone was set up with my account and my wife’s was set up with her account.
My wife's iPad is set up with her account (but it seems like it is pretty easy to log out and then log in with my account if I want, I think).
Since we log into our respective accounts on iTunes and have our own accounts for our iOS devices, we purchase music, games, etc. on both accounts.
If we continue with our current method of different accounts, I am worried that our music, games etc. will be separated so that we won't be able to access them all from each of our devices. For example, I'm thinking of setting up that Home Sharing thing where you can use your iOS device to stream off your computer's iTunes but I think it only streams off the iTunes account you are currently signed into.
Is this a good idea or should we just pick one of our accounts and use it exclusively?
If we just use one account, should our phones both be signed in / started up with that one account?
Thanks for any info.2 iphones, 1 ipad, 1 PC with 1 apple account

My wife and I use the same app store account, but we would like to have our own separate accounts. How can we do this and not loose our own personal apps. and music.
One account keeps purchased media, the other will have to re purchase.

My husband and I use the same apple Id. We would like to each have our own apple id, but we do not want to lose all our information associated with the current id. One of us will keep the original. If one us creates a new apple id how will that affect the iPhone and iTunes?
That would be my suggestion. Just keep using the common one for purchases in the stores. Then each get another AppleID using a free gmail, AOL, hotmail, MS Live or whatever email account.
Delete your current iCloud account and login with the new AppleID, and logout of Messaging and then backin with the new AppleID. Now you have a shared iTunes/App store account, but completely separate, independent iCloud and iMessage accounts.
You can still share calendars if you wish to, even across separate accounts - http://support.apple.com/kb/ph2690 -
My husband and I share the same Apple ID number because we both need access to an app that has a subscription and would be expensive for us to do separately. We don't like that this shared ID number means we also share our calendar, note pages, email, etc....Is there a way to separate the things we don't want to share?

Can my wife and I share the same Apple ID on each of our iPhones?
I'm trying to set hers up and now it's showing each of our contacts in the other's contacts list (in addition to our own). Now I'm worried that we'd have the same apps and end up with each other's email if I proceed. Can we have separate settings while sharing the same Apple ID??
Actually he can.
Sign into iCloud using husband and wife's individual unique apple id.
But sign in iTunes store or App store or iBook store using a single apple id (be it husband's or wife's)... both iPhones can have the same media (ie, books, songs, videos, apps), but different iCloud account to manage different emails, find my iphone, iMessage, calendars, notes, reminders, etc...
Just have to remember to sign out and sign in using different ID.
iOS4.x.x does not support this, but iOS5 does.
I am using 3 different Apple IDs to access Apps, iTunes and iCloud respectively. -
My husband and I have the same apple account. How do I make two accounts?
My husband and I each have i-phone4gs and i-pad iOS 5.0.1
We initially set them up on the same apple account, but now would like to have two separate accounts and two separate i-cloud accounts. How do we make this happen. We don't want each other's i-cloud back-ups.Same way you set up the original one - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2731.
