My wife and I share an iTunes account, if I create her own account can she still access all the music and apps we have purchased together over the years?
My wife and I have been sharing an iTunes accound and library on our own iPods then iPhones for years without much trouble. Now, Mai ly because of the cloud and a new desktop, I think it's time to create her own account but I don't want to have to repurchase all her music and apps. Is this poosible?
Thanks!
Yes, with the credentials of the account that the media/content was purchased with.
Content is permanently tied to the account it is purchased with and cannot be merged, moved, or transferred to another account.

If I delete my iTunes library, can I still access all my music through iTunes match?
I would like to sell my MacBook Pro to update to an Air. Can I delete my entire iTunes Library on the Pro and simply download from the cloud (using iTunes Match) when I get my new computer?
FAQ: Why iTunes Match can NOT be used as a backup!
This is not a recommended course of action. iTunes Match is not intended to be a backup nor should it be depended on as such. Before you sell the MBP, go purchase a large (1 TB at least) external HDD and use Time Machine to do a full system backup. Then when you purchase the MBA use the migration assistant to pull all your personal data out of the backup on the external HDD to the new computer.
Regular backups are essential to keeping your personal data safe and secure. -

Why would you set up a new account?
Copy everything from your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.
Its wrong to assume that everyone has a backup copy.
are you PC or Mac? -
Is it legal to convert the music files, which I have purchased in recent months, to the mp3 format and burn them on to a CD so that they can be played in non-apple music devices that dont support the M4A format?
Yes, of course it is legal.
To convert the format, follow one of these documents:
iTunes 11 for Windows: Save a copy of a song in a new file format
iTunes 11 for Mac: Save a copy of a song in a new file format
Also note that you have the option of buying your files in MP3 format in the first place, from Amazon MP3 or other online retailers. MP3 files will work in iTunes as well as virtually every other player, program, and device. -

my wife has been operating her i phone from my i tunes account. I have just bought an i phone, how does she change my details and register her own phone with her own account.I would like to use my own email address!
Just to be clear, are you talking about the Apple ID that you use to purchase Apps in the App Store?

My iPad has the Itunes logo and USB cable on screen. Can I still back up my files?
If you haven't already done so, its unlikely.
You can try holding both the home and power buttons at the same time until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go. -
When trying to fix the problem I signed out of the old iCloud account on my phone and computer, created a new account and then registered my phone and computer to this new account. I also made sure to check that send/receive was only for my phone number and Apple ID email. I want to make sure that she can no longer access my old and new messages. Thank you!
She won't after the change.
Note you can use the same Apple ID in
Settings > iTunes & App Store > Apple ID: > here to share purchased music, apps and books.
Other than that each of you should use your own Apple ID for iMessage, FaceTime, iCloud, Game Center, etc. -
I keep losing music from my library because "itunes cannot locate original file". Why does my computer lose this? If I have purchased in itunes, can I copy again for free? how? Thanks.

If you are losing music which can mean the database in iTunes is not stable. Maybe you should do under File > Library > Organize Library > Consolidate Files.
Thanks and I did find the link, it now states that they have been downloaded but how do I copy thise files into my itunes or how does my itunes find those files? Again thank you for your help
Downloaded means you already have it in iTunes. If you've deleted them then you will see a cloud symbol. Click the cloud symbol and it will download into iTunes. (iCloud is your backup for all your purchased items) -
How can i sync my wife's Nano to my itunes library as well as her own?
Is there any way to maintain two itunes accounts and sync to both ipods to each?
Welcome to Apple Discussions, danievas!
You have asked your question in a forum devoted to questions and feedback about the way the forum itself works. You are much more likely to get answers if you ask in the "Connecting iPod nano (3rd generation) to a Windows" forum of the "iPod nano" catagory. Here is a link:

My daughter and I share our iTunes account.
But it dawned on me that this will be a problem when she goes to college. Can I possibly start her a new iTunes account and then have her have all the music that we have gathered together over the last 5 years in her account and mine?
My friend was trying to explain how to do this, but I am just looking for a step by step, hold my hand tutorial or something. My daughter will be devastated to lose all of our music that we share.
Thanks!iCloud is designed to be used by one user with all their devices "linked" together. Your daughter needs to have her own icloud account. Using one Apple ID for an iTunes account is a different situation, you can certainly share the account with your daughter. That way she can access purchased items without paying again.
If she already has another icloud account, and wants to set it up on her device, then go to Settings>icloud, scroll to bottom of screen and tap Delete Account. This only disconnects the device from that account, no data is lost on icloud. Then enter the account ID that she wants to use.
To create a new icloud account, go to
http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/
As for your lost contacts, they are gone. You only hope is if the contacts were also on your computer and (if gone now) you have made frequent backups of the computer (like using Time Machine on a mac). Just restore the contact files back to your computer. -
My wife and I share one itunes account with separate libraries. When I sync her iphone in her library, it adds all of my iphone contacts to her contact list. How can we avoid this?
Make groups of contacts in your Address Book and select the option to sync only selected groups to each phone.
This explains how to create groups: Mac 101: Address Book, http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2486
