My wife just purchased an iPhone. She has an Apple ID but it is linked to her gmail address. She wants to create her own iCloud email address but the setup tools don't let us do that.

I wanted to create a new iCloud email address and account for her, but the Mail Setup won't let us use .icloud and keeps referring her back to log into the gmail server.
How can we convert her gmail address to an icloud address if Mail Setup refuses to let her use icloud.com?
One other issue: Her iTunes are linked to my account, and my wife would like her own separate account.
Actually, I want her to have a separate iTunes account. Our marriage is fine, but our musical tastes are vastly different That's another issue; right now want to focus on getting my wife in .icloud email address.

I have done that. My wife tryede to enter the same apple ID. The instuctions say you can. It says press use the same. Then press continue. The problem is that all services are bundled with your Apple ID ([email protected]):
Your iCloud account (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Notes, Backups, etc.),
also iTunes & App Store purchases (Music, Movies, TV Shows, etc.),
and the iTunes Match services.
(I guess that all your devices - yours and your wife's are connected to one iTunes library, right?)
If you want that your wife gets her own iCloud account for Mail, Contacts, Calendars, etc. but gets also access to your media then you have two set up two things on her device:
iCloud (Settings > iCloud) with her account (e.g. [email protected])
and
iTunes & App Stores (Settings > iTunes & App Stores) with your account (e.g. [email protected]).
In this case she gets access to your library and could use the same iTunes Match account.

My daughter has an iPod touch using my apple ID, I just purchased an iPhone with the same ID. Is there a way to keep my stuff seperate from her ipod but still share the iTunes account? I was looking through the photo section on my iPhone and found pics my daughter has taken from her iPod. I do not want my pics, emails, etc to show up on her iPod. Is there a way to stop this from happening or do I have to create a different Apple ID for her to use instead?

If underage and not i)S on all devices then you have to create an ID for here under your name and supervise it use:

Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old

Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
Settings>FaceTime
Settings>GameCenter
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases. -
I have just purchased an iMac which has no CD Drive, when I downloaded my Elements 8 from my external drive onto my new iMac I just get Error Code 150.30 does this mean that I have no way of retrieving my existing software?

I just purchased an iPhone 5 and my phone has many duplicate contacts on it. I want to edit my contact list that's saved on the cloud and then replace the contacts on my phone with the edited list. I have spent hours but no success yet.

So when you edit in iCloud you are not seeing an update on your iphone?. I just did a test in iCloud.com and it changed my iPhone contact list in less than 1 second. So iCloud is functioning fine.
If you delete all the contacts on your iPhone and if you are properly synced they will all be wiped out on iCloud.....ugh! So let's not do that...
Your plan should be to make all the changes in iCloud and have them flow down to your iPhone. That sounds what you are trying to do anyway.
So. if you delete a contact in iCloud or edit a contact in iCloud then you are not seeing the changes on your iPhone?
If so then they are not properly synced..... but I wonder how you have any contacts in iCloud.
Let me know if you are seeing any changes, if mot then we can review the syncing set-up.

when you open the app store scroll down to the bottom it will display the apple id currently in use, change it to your normal apple id email

My friend wanted to create a new iCloud account that was different to her iTunes and app one when she deleted her iCloud account that was the same as her iTunes it won't let her log into her iTunes one now what can I do to fix it she has paid or apps and songs and of she makes another account everything will be lost.

My mom updated her iPhone to iOS7, and now she has my contacts. Does this mean that she has access to all of my photos as well? How can she 'unlink' our phones? Or, is there anyway that I can get my stuff to disappear from her phone? We share iTunes account so I think we are both on the same iCloud.
Welcome to the Apple Community.
If you are using the same ID as a primary iCloud login, then yes she can see your photos in photostream if you have it enabled.
You can use the same ID for iTunes so you can share all your purchases, but you need different ID's for iCloud.
Unfortunately, the mess caused by sharing the ID, will need to be sorted manually, once you both have your own ID's. -
Just purchased an Iphone 5. The I want to delete apps but the x at the top corner of the apps icon is missing, how do I get it back?

I have just purchased an iphone today and it is coming up with a picture on the screen of the usb connector and itunes symbol. It also says that I now have no service and can only make emergency calls
Just a thought, but maybe consider returning the device. Seems it might be a bit too complicated for you.

Greetings this evening, I just purchased an iphone 5s and want to transfer some of my itunes from my mac running 10.6.7 to my new iphone 5s.I downloaded version 11.1 from the itunes website,restarted my computer but it wont recoginize the new 11.1 version which it tells me I need to sync songs from mac to 5S.Even though I downloaded version11.1 it still says I'm running version 10? How can I get my itunes from my mac onto my new phone and have them in itunes on the phone? Love my music! Thank You !

Hi all,I have just purchased new iphone but have difficulty in completing the itunes download with message : problem with Windows installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected.
Would appreciate help...its driving me up the wall!!Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.
Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time? -
I just purchased an Iphone and love it except I'm surprised and annoyed that there is no way to create a group within contacts. I coach a youth basketball team and routinely want to fire off a mass email or text to the same group. Am I missing something?
When I click on my contacts icon on my phone there is a Groups choice in the upper left hand corner. Make sure you are in All Contacts and not a specific person.

No liscense for the device type?
So, my Digital Editions refuses to let me view my ebooks or download them. Everytime I try something the "Document not liscensed for this device type" message pops up. Anyone know what this is all about and how to fix it? Thanks in advance.
