N8 Streaming Issue

When I try to watch a video from Youtube the screen goes black, a loading symbol spins, then the "loading" word appears and nothing happens! I use WiFi connection and I've tested with the default browser and opera. Does anyone knows what may be?

Wouldn´t suprise me if it is a firewall problem...or antivrus program.
If you have for example F-secure installed, check settings.
Otherwise, I don´t have a clue right now.

Major streaming issue!

Hey Guys,
I am having major streaming issues with my Macbook and Apple TV. Here is a detailed overview of my setup.
Netgear 802.11G Router
SSID off
WEP 128 Bit hex key
DHCP
Wireless devices
Powerbook G4
Macbook
Apple TV
iPod Touch
XP laptop
Wired device
XP desktop
All these devices are able to access the wireless network fine - and have no problem connecting to the internet.
Apple TV is running SW 2.0 - I don't know if the same issue would have occurred in SW 1.0 as I did the SW upgrade on it straight away (getting close to a system reset though)
I am able to see the Apple TV in iTunes 7.6 and have all the details of my Apple TV.
When I try to play any of "my movies" I sometimes get an error saying can't recognize file type or something along those lines - or it just gets stuck on a black screen with the buffering "spinning gear" winding till the Apple TV goes in to the screen saver.
I tried on many different resolutions but it did not fix the issue.
The same thing happens with TV Shows and Podcasts - haven't tried YouTube just yet.
I am able to play movie trailers though both standard definition and high definition.
Another thing to mention is the load up of the Apple TV is very jittering and stutters.
The thing that makes me wonder is I ran it on another Netgear G router network earlier today and everything went fine - and I was able to playback videos that I am not able to do now - which kind of makes me look at the network - but the fact that HD trailers load almost instantly and play fine makes me think perhaps Apple TV? The fact it doesn't load smoothly concerns me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just removed Apple TV from iTunes and cleared an connections in "Computer" tab of Apple TV and reset everything - still the same issue.
Apple TV loads very jittery and it doesn't load video files to playback - but it does playback music and movie trailers. I am guessing it has no problems with the trailers as that is not something that gets accessed via the Macbook. Really starting to think this could be a bandwidth issue know, just weird that it was all hunky dory on another G network! Besides all my laptops get full reception where the Apple TV is situated and I can't think of any interference in the position that it is in.
Any other ideas people - don't want to have to shell out for a base station just right now.

YouTube streaming issues

Is anyone else having YouTube streaming issues? I can only get about 5-10 seconds of video to play. Then if I try to restart the video it doesn't play at all. It's been this way for a couple of days now. It doesn't matter which wifi network I'm on either. I read the videos are going through an Apple proxy server so I wonder if the server is having issues since it used to work just fine.
I have a new 8GB 3g touch with about 1.5 GB of free space. All other Internet apps work fine.

IS07 Car Music Bluetooth Streaming Issue - Help Needed

I drive an Audi A1 which I have owned from new 11 months ago. I updated my iPhone 5 to the IS 7.0.4 around 1 month ago and since doing that I now have streaming issues in my car. The connection is via bluetooth, and the music is streamed from my iPhone, however since the update the music cuts out, skips and pauses............
I took the car to a service centre today where it was confirmed a known issue within the Audi network.
So how do we go around this? What do I need in order to stream music without the interference? I am pretty sure Apple wouldn't want to pay my car invoice for the added extras that I purchased in order for me to enjoy my music so surely there must be a way around this?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

This is not about law, it's about software/hardware. But since you're bringing it up, when Siri was introduced for the iPhone 4s, there was a man in a car using siri with his apple earplugs. I searched for law about this in my country (Netherlands) and it's not forbidden.
Now back to my issue: I want to use a headphone to listen to music and I want to make a call through bluetooth. Iphone doesn't remember I was listening to the music through the headphone. Issue, right?

ITunes & iRadio streaming issues, why?

Hello from Miami,
All this week I have been experianceing issues with either my iTunes Store giving me iTunes store errors windows along with the iRadio player acting up also. I have contacted apple support to clear caches along with anything else that needs clearing out. Well tonight the issues returned, I have to make an educated guess and say it's not at my end.
Has anyone else experianced similar issues, update me.

I do not feel I was lectured, I was simply stating how you treated this other apple user, "paulie74" by stating the following. You said,
"Also ranting about quality control will not help your cause, I use both and have absolutely no issues as do millions of others."
Being positive and not being unhelpful is not what these forums are about, then you also mentioned,
"perhaps you should read the Terms of Use you agreed to", I know the terms of these forums and those of the Apple company, I am not new to Apple, and would respectfully suggest that you be more constructive regarding your comments and not expresses yourself in a way that upsets others.
And yes, I will forward all this onto Apple, for I trust they will do what's right as always.

Streaming issues MacBook Air -- Apple TV ?

Hello everybody.
Does or did anyone of you eperience the same streaming issue with an macbook air mid 12 and an apple tv3?
Only streaming from this device, any other will work proper (such as iPhone4 , iPad 2, etc.).
The issue is:
- streaming aborted
- after 30-45 mins of video streaming - video only
- apple tv not reachable
- apple tv has no internet connection / content, etc
- macbook gets very hot in the top left corner (wifi module?)
- no airplay, mirroring etc. works any more with the mentioned device
- only restar of apple tv helps
Both devices are connected via the same WIFI/router. Network type (5GHz or what ever) is unknown due to the fact that I've forgotten my router password. I thought this is where I am probably able to check some things... (I am soving my password stuff right now with my provider).
so...any ideas?
forum search and google-it did not work (for me). open to any suggestions.

TS3623 ATV3 massive streaming issues?

Hello,
For 4 days, we have been experiencing massive streaming issues with downloading content from itunes to ATV but also to other devices such as iphone, ipad and PC. Not only media content downloads present issues but also app updates. My full home set up has been checked and tested. Downlod speeds are in excess of 15mbps.
We are located in Bavaria, south Germany.
Is apple facing serious server problems as in the summer 2012? Or is it a software update problem? Is there an ETA for a fix?

Apple TV started having streaming issues with Netflix

Several days ago my Apple TV is no longer providing consistent streaming throught Netflix. Before that, I had great streaming through all content for many months.
Issues, configuration and some actions already taken:
Video quality starts suffering, then some pauses/buffering begins.
I have tried the same Netflix account, content and network to trace the issue and found out through my Macbook Air and iPad and the streaming is excellent.
My Apple TV is connected to my ISP through an Ethernet cable at 200 Mbps (tested @ Speedtest.net)
I already restarted several times, and restored once my Apple TV.
Software is updated since it became available.
Yesterday, I found a post which recommended to manually setup my DNS to 008.008.008.008 which I did and worked great at that time, but todays problems are back with that fixed DNS and with Auto setup.
I hove someone here can help me with some further advice, or perhaps Apple very soon releases a fix. Seems that the latest update improved Airplay consistency to deliver both video and audio and not only video, but might have broken Netflix streaming.

Yes, I'm having the exact same issue since the latest update. I thought it was my internet connection but it worked perfectly fine in my ipad and macbook air.
I also have 2 Apple TV's and the problem is in both of them. I really hope apple fixes this issue ASAP.
In the meantime, if you wanna watch your netflix content on your apple tv with good streaming and you have an iPad/iPhone with netflix on it. I recommend Airplay mirroring the iOS device and then opening netflix, it will airplay the video content and the iphone/ipad screen will function as a remote control with all the settings and stuff...its kinda cool...the only bad thing is that you can't turn off the iPad/iPhone screen or it will pause the movie.
i hope this works for you while apple fixes this issue.

AppleTV's streaming issues... are there limits ?

I had 2 appletv's (v2) connected to an iMac (3GHz intel cores i3 with 4 gb of memory) which in turn is hard wired into a linksys router which has an 8TB Buffalo NAS device on it which stores approx 2.5GB of media... mostly movies and TV shows... all was great, no network lag, no intermittent stop /starting... I then added two things at the weekend, another appletv (v2) and about 60gb of TV series I finished ripping from my DVD library (the quest to be 100% digital is nearing the end)... and a few hours later I appear to have latency issues.... the iMac will play anything... any appletv will pick up the library, load it and play music but when a movie or TV show is selected it appears unable to either get enough or buffer enough content to get it to play... I have rebooted eveything but nothing seems to be working...
So after all that does anyone know if there are limits to how much content one library can serve up to appletv's or a limit on the number of appletvs that one library can support... any ideas on how to fix this... appleTV's are streaming wirelessly...

HELP!! I cant find an answer anywhere... Stream issue

I've been trying to stream these two videos from my itunes to my appletv. I've never had a problem before and every other video I've tried today streams and syncs with no issue. These two videos both show up under my movies on itunes but I cant get them to show up on the appletv. The only thing i can think of is that these two vids are the biggest size of all my other videos, one is 650 mb, and the other is 1.8 gb, they are both MP4 and play fine in itunes. whats the problem?

size isn't the issue.
it could be that the 2 videos are not appletv compatible (just because they are in itunes does not mean they are appletv compatible).
play 1 of them in quicktime and open "movie inspector". post the results and we can advise if they are compatible or not.

IPhoto (9.4.2) Photo stream issues

Im having issues with Photo stream on Iphoto

Photos for the iCloud account “<email address>” cannot be accessed. Review your account information in System Preferences.
I've taken a look in the iCloud settings and everything for photo stream is switched on
When I do try and share a photo stream the pictures I add don't appear (album is empty)
The email address I use for the iCloud setup is not an apple one but I dont think this would matter. Was working before I updated to version 9.4.2
Any help would be much appreciated

Youtube streaming issues since latest update

Hi all,
Since the most recent YouTube app update on my iPad Mini i'm having issues streaming to my apple tv (gen2)
When the ipad auto locks youtube vids stop playing, i can get around this by turning off auto lock but this never used to occur.
Using my iphone 5 and the issue does not replicate.
Additionally when loading videos with ads I generally have to load the ad (skip or let it play, but then the video doesn't load, i'll click another video then click back on the original to get it to play.
Anyone else having these issues?
Did the standard reboot apple tv etc, I think this is Ipad related as mention since Iphone 5 is working without issues.

NHL gamecenter streaming issues

I bought a new ATV2 last week and updated to the latest sotware. The main selling point for me was NHL Gamecenter live as I had grown tired of watching games on my laptop. Gamecenter live however is unbearable to watch. It stops to buffer every 3-5 minutes and often will buffer for 5+ minutes just to go another 2 minutes. I can use Gamecenter on my laptop with no issues and it never needs to stop for buffering.
I thought it was my ATV2 setup but Itunes and Netflix movies stream with a breeze, never a hang up and a very short buffering time to get started. I have a 20MB download internet connection and I've never had buffering issues when using NHL Gamecenter on my Laptop. Another annoying thing it does is sometimes when watching a game that the NHL has put in their own "commercials" during time outs, it will often go back to the NHL game menu when the commercial break is over instead of going back to the game.
Anyone else having this issue with NHL Gamecenter? Maybe its an NHL issue since everything else on my Apple TV streams perfectly. I've had to go back to watching games on my Laptop because of it.

Haven't had this hold true for me. I usually watch games after they are over--not live. Some will stream this way, others will not--most often the team I really WANT to watch will not! I was watching one game on the computer the other night and decided to try the ATV2 again after the first period and found it WAS finally available. The weird thing was that the steam was slightly different than the stream I was watching o the computer. The computer stream included all of the commercial breaks and period intermissions, the ATV2 stream did not--it just went immediately to the next action or next period. Are they somehow formatting a special feed for ATV2? Does this take time and is that why some of the games are not available for awhile after the live game is over? I'm grasping at straws here to understand how I can best use this device which is so far quite frustrating and mysterious.....

Apple TV video streaming issue with EA4500

I am facing issues with my router EA4500 and my apple TV. When I am watching a video from my itunes library at my PC, sometimes stop palying waiting to receive data. Home Sharing streaming issues?

Ever since the last Apple TV update, I have had problems streaming movies using Home Sharing from my iMac. I will start watching a movie when the Apple TV suddenly goes back to the Home Screen. I am able to watch movies via Airplay and use my Netflix account to watch shows and this does not happen. It is recognizing my computer but I am only able to watch about 5 minutes of a movie until I get booted out of Home Sharing. I have tried to watch several different movies and the same thing happens. My iTunes software is up to date and this all started to happen when I updated my Apple TV software. I have also restored my Apple TV to factory settings and the same issues keep happening. Is anyone else having this issue????
