N80 Sms Reminder

Hi all
Can someone point me in the right direction, im after an sms reminder for my N80, dont mind paying as long as it works, can anyone help????

Any of the sites on the net that offer realtones etc will work as the n80 supports mp3 and midi, so best to do a search for ringtone sites.

N80 SMS and Ringtone issues.

Hi Everyone,
My phone takes too long to send SMS (2 - 3min), my gallery freezes when you revert back to it after editing a picture and the ringtones play when my phone rings, but seconds later it slows down like a broken record!
I have perform the *-3-Green reset, I have had the software updated and the issue is unresolved.
I dont think Nokia knows what to do now except for reloading the firmware. (Theey have reloaded it a total 9 times since I got the phone in July 2006)
Can anyone shine some light, apart from going to another brand?
My carrier is Vadofone AU.

in the application manager section of the Nokia N80 handset, is there anything that can be removed which may be causing slowness??

N80 SMS problem/restarting (!?)

hi.
I have a few problems, i don't know if they are linked.
I'll start with a background story. I had UltraIMpro, and F-secure anti-virus (both trial versions) on my N80, both had run out of subscriptions. I noticed that my phone had started to restart tself a lot, sometimes about 3 or 4 times a day, i knew it was doing this because that F-secure screen always appeared after it had restarted, asking me if i wanted to do a scan, as usual! I always just exited the program, and have scanned for viruses, there arent any!
Anyway, this Restartign thing got annoying, and then another thing introduced itself! I was with some friends, and both of them said they had texted me earlier, but i hadn't received them. The next day, i turned my phone off, and when i turned it pon again, i got the 2 text messages. These messages did not appear when the phone restarted itslef, but only when i turned it off myself. This happened once more, after which i got **bleep** off and decided that maybe i should back-up my data on my 1GB card and hard-reset the phone, maybe this would solve the problem i thought.
So, one night, i tried to do this, and i got the error message "Memory card full : close some applications and try again" now, i have 540mb free on this card, and no applications running on the phone. Even right now, it wont let me make a backup, Could anyone explain this??
So, having failed that, i wondered if these extra applications were annoying my phone, so i uninstall the useless ones, F-secure and UltraIMpro, and surely enough, i go and run a few tests, and the SMS's seem to be arriving fine and imemdiately. Is that logical at all? Is there a phoesable explanation for this?
I can't tell if that has fixed the restarting problem, as i uninstalled F-secure, which was the only thing telling me that it was restarting, but i haven't seen it restarting yet, so i also hope that problem has blown over.
So, basically, i was just looking to see if anyone could help me with this memory backup problem, and if someone could explain all of this gaffuffle!

my phones in order of appearance : (starting 3 years ago!) I change phones a lot, have had 11 different handsets in 2006!!

ok lets start:
restarts.....delete all apps on the phone including themes etc.(use pc suite to save what you need on your pc)i believe this prob stems from the f secure trying to still read your system and cant cause its a trial so its not completing the operation and basically hindering the other apps
text messages- n80 has a lag in sending text some prior users have complained that it freezes for 40secs when they sent text messages.....please dont worry about this its a firmware problem/bug which if you go to a nokia service centre it can be upgraded to the latest firmware in the uk...be patient as well as nokia has also introduced over the air and downloadable firmware upgrades....unfortunately the n80 is not yet available....so its nsc or wait until it is(it is very easy to do this as ive upgraded one of my older models which is available.....click on home on the top of this page and at the bottom left there should be some info on this)
memory card- i have found that certain cards do not work well with mobile phones i suggest sandisk which sem to work well with mobile phones.....that memory problem seems to have been a bug to others i didnt have this prob(2gb sandisk memory card) so i guess this is dependant on the actual handset some give this prob others dont.....firmware upgrade is expected to change this hopefully.....
lastly as said in the first answer save your stuff to your pc and then you can master reset your phone this helps as well (press *#7370# on the active standby screen) but remember all data will be lost including contacts so save everything!!!!!

N80 sms sending problems

I have an unlocked N80, up until the other day I could send & recieve sms messages but they were very slow. I installed sms accelerator & it worked fine but then the service centre number afterwards was incorrect. I edited the number back to my original sms service centre number in the settings but now I can't send txt messages at all, I can't get into the sms settings at all either! I can send mms & picture messages, email & I can recieve sms. It's driving me crazy, please help. thanks

Hi, many thanks for your response, however I've done the firmware upgrade & SMS sccelerator but STILL can't send TXT messages!!! I can't get into SMS "settings" to configure my service centre number.
I can access MMS & wap/email etc fine, I can send & recieve MMS. I am confused over this whole issue!!

N80 sms accelerator, HELP

I am still trying to download the sms accelerator for my nokia n80, when i try to click on the "download now" icon on my pc nothing happens? i have been trying for days! is there any over way of getting this software???

SMS accelerator has to be downloaded onto a PC 1st and then transferred to mobile through applications manager.
If you face problems downloading to PC then it could be that the server could be facing some problems.
I did mine and got it transferred to phone. It just works fine.

N80 SMS TROUBLE

HI,
i have N80, if i send sms it takes 4-5 minutes to go through, & meanwhile if any person try to cal me at the time while i m sending sms,it rings on their side but it doesnt show in my mobile or rings, and i miss lots of important cals for this issue while sendings sms., i m fed up this Ph-N80,
Do Any Nokia N-80 User has the same problem or can any one help me on this issue.,,,

Download and install the "SMS Accellerator" fix from Nokia's support site for the N80:

N80 - SMS time bug with Vodafone Italy SIM

This mobile (even with the lastest 4.0623.0.42 firmware) has a bug regarding the time of SMS with Vodafone Italy SIMs.
Timestamp of the messages is forwarded of 2 hours.
For example, if a friend sends me a SMS at 20:00, when I look at the details of the message received in my phone it shows 22:00.
This bug has been confirmed by many other people, a little search on google confirms that

i confirm this too.
same problem on my nokia 3250. its a pretty annoying problem
only workaround is to set your timezone to iceland but keep your current local time configured. it will work.

Nokia N80 SMS settings not saved

Hi
Since I updated my firmware to the latest version, my phone looses the SMS settings on the phone!
Anyone any ideas how to resolve this annoying bug which means I have to input the settings every time I send an SMS?
I am with 3 if it makes any difference.

Hi I forgot to add when I access SMS settings and try to input the message centre name and number, I get the following error message, "Text message service disabled. No message centres available on current SIM." Any help appreciated. Regards

N80 SMS Slowdown FIXED!!

Hi guys,
In case anyone hasnt spotted it, Nokia have release a fix to cure the problem of the N80 hanging for a few seconds when sending a text message

I've installed it and it works amazingly, gets the phone right back to how it was when i first got it, texts send instantly and you can immediately continue using the functions of the phone without the "hanging"

N80 sms issues

Hi people, It seems im having a different problem with my n80 to most people, the phone is fine and very quick, camera takes sweet pictures as long as you know what mode to set it to with regards to lighting etc but when it comes to sendin texts the phone will sit there saying 'sending' for about 5 minutes and if you try to do anything else during this time it will freeze. Has anyone had this? is there a fix apart from chucking it against a wall in an overly agitated way?

i cant remember if it comes included with v4 or not as i had already installed it before i updated to v4
its worth downloading and installing anyway, wont do any harm if you try to re-install it and it's already there, it will just say "replace v1.00 with v1.00?"
if it says that then you have already got it and you can cancel the installation
it is available for download from the nokia website, then put it on your phone via cable/card. or you can now get it thru the "catalogs" app on your phone if you look in Nokia Extra -> Smartphone Software
its only a 2kb download and its free

N80 SMS Problem

Some times appear a message on my phone screen and it says that it's impossible to receive messages because the card Sim it's full and i must to clean it, but I clean it and continues to appear that message

I'll advice you to bring that sim card to your provider & have it check & replaced.
Knowledge not shared is knowledge wasted!

Nokia N80 SLOW SMS SEND

Why oh why does it take my N80 on a pay as you go contract so long to send a message?? I am a pay as you go O2 customer. But its not the network cos i have a 6670 which works fine and sends quick SMS with same sim.

SMS Calendar Reminder App needed

There seems to me to be an obvious need for an App that will automatically send an Sms reminder for calendar events on the Blackberry. It would need to integrate with thebBlackberry Calendar. Unless I have missed the obvious there currently isn't one. Does anyone know of any such solution? Thanks for any and all advice.

AFAIK there has never been any application capable of doing this upon Symbian devices unfortunately.
