A couple of things to try :
1) Take the battery physically out of your phone for 5 minutes, then put it back in and power on - do you get the same problem ?
2) If that doesn't work then try resetting the phone following these instructions :
/discussions/board/message?board.id=smartphones&message.id=4007
However please be aware that doing so will wipe ALL the data from your phone such as information in your calendar, contacts and so on.
In order to save your data you can use the PC Suite application to save and restore the data from your phone - this software can be found here :
http://www.nokia.com/pcsuite
If this doesn't work then it's likely you have a hardware fault and you should approach your local Nokia Service Centre to get your phone fixed.
Hope this helps.
Please let me know how you get on.

Edward

Some service centres will take pity on people who have had their phones messed up by the NSU, try a smaller independent NSU, explain what has happened and hope for the best.
My local service centre fixed my dads 6680 out of warrenty for £5 (cash in hand) after the NSU messed it up.

  • N80 white screen problem

Has anybody yet come up with a solution for the white screen problem on the N80, mine is doing it more often than not now, very annoying! I think I have the latest firmware V4.0632.0.38

Can you describe with some more detail? Which model MBP do you have (e.g. 15" late 2011)? Are you, as your profile indicates, still running 10.8.1 or have you upgraded to the latest version of 10.8.2?
Need some more information before we can offer any help.

  • N80 white screen

hey guys, i have a nokia n80 and suddenly the screen keeps going white. As soon as i turn it on, and every little while it will flicker back with the normal screen, and then back to white.. I cant even use it. the main problem is that I am in Canada, and I got this phone imported by someone.. I cant get it fixed locally because the phone is not available here. I am desperate, and I have no idea what to do.. please give me any suggestions.
    Thanks

Hi - You appear to have posted this query before :
    /discussions/board/message?board.id=smartphones&message.id=49311#M49311
If your local Nokia Service Centre is unable to help (i.e. if they're totally unable to fix it because the N80 isn't stocked in your country), then I'd advise you to contact Nokia directly for further assistance.
You can find Nokia's contact details here :
    http://www.nokia.com/A4126575
Please note that this doesn't apply if the repair is chargeable. If this is the case then I'm afraid you're just going to have to pay to have it repaired or bin the phone and get one with a contract ...

  • Only Plain white screen appears

I was just using my iPhone and i guess when i put it down i might of hit it against something and now i am only getting a plain white screen, but i can still unlock it and accept calls by sliding it in the right place.
Is there anyway to fix this at home or must i go to an apple store to resolve this issue

thankfully yes spyfly, you need to try to remember exactly what happened when you hit it against something, and hit it with equal force from the opposite side. let me know how this works.
also, just to put it out there, i am also having trouble with my 6 digit code corrupting and failing to work. however, after a restart it works. i am required to use this because i use exchange with my company. come on apple??? this is the coolest but BUGGIEST phone i've ever owned. ever. the new blackberry is looking kinda cool...

  • N80i Startup White Screen

Hi, just got my N80i a few days ago. Just this morning when i went to turn it on, the screen went white and stayed white for quite some time. The word Nokia didnt appear so i assume it froze/hanged.
None of the buttons worked so i had to pull out the battery. I left the battery out for about 1 hour and tried again. It worked this time though.
Thing is i did try the 3 button reset thing, but it didnt seem to work as the phone didnt prompt me for anything.
Just wanted to know what is the cause of this white screen appearing on startup. How can i stop this from happening again.
    Firmware is the :
    v4.0632.0.38
    13-10-2006
    RM-92
    Nokia N80 (530.01)
    Thanks
    Any help is much appreciated.

  • My Itouch went white screen but when i reset it, it didnt change

It is still on the white screen even though i reset it.
And i cant erase everything because all the songs and stuff are from various computers. I think it is from pressure on it because it happened before, but not to this extreme, and i pressed on one side of it and it just fixed itself, but now it won't do anything. And when i did the usual unlocking procedure, the sliding across bottom of screen, and pressed where music would be and just randomly tapped it started to play music so i think there might be a wire or something disconnected but I'm not an expert so i wont jump to conclusions. But i really need help with this.

Can anyone help me? I have the same issue of the white screen.
My screen has gone completely white for no reason, i reset it pressing the home button and on power button at the same time, it worked great! for about 2 f**ing hours and then went completely white for good! im out of the warranty now so cant take it back. i have restored and deleted ALL of my software and started from fresh and guess what.... No change,
I am fed up with this s**t now, i am not the only person this has happened to, i know of friends who have the same problem over time and can do nothing.
I am in search of someone who knows what they are talking about and is not just going to tell me to press a bunch of buttons because that doesnt work!!
What is the point of spending so much money on a product that WILL inevitably F*k up. I am so dissapointed with this service and with apple because there is no contact or way of getting answers from any certified apple technicians.
    So in a nutshell...
My screen has turned white for no reason.
I have reset it using home and power button.
I have done a system restore deleting everything.
I have not cracked the screen.
I have not applied pressure to it.
It has not been in contact with any fluids of any nature.
I have not dropped it, and it has always been in a case.
All i have done is use it.
HOW CAN YOU SELL A PRODUCT THAT WILL BREAK AND YOU CAN DO NOTHING ABOUT IT!
THIS IS APPAULING BECAUSE I HAVE SAVED VITAL INFORMATION AND SPENT ALOT OF MONEY ON YOUR APPLICATIONS AND SONGS EXPECTING RELIABILITY AND QUALITY ALL ROUND!

  • HT201263 my ipod has a white screen and i dont know how to fix it!

After extensive googling with no sucess, I am at my wits end. My iPod touch 4th gen is displaying nothing but  a white screen. I tried sliding to open and I could hear the locking clicky noise that most often accompanies it. I have factory restored it but that still left the white screen. I have also tried the simply "turning it on and back off", in which still doesnt work and I dont even see the apple logo. Help Please!!

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IPod touch white screen after sleep?

After I put my iPod Touch to sleep, and I wake it up, I get a white screen that flickers from time to time, then just goes right back to sleep. I can sometimes coax it into coming up by sliding my finger over where the slid to unlock button would be, but that doesn't always work. I just bought it yesterday. Is this a widespread issue or should I just take it back?

Happens on my one aswell... but happens at any battery life level.
I don't know if it is me just me speculating or whatever but it seems to happen when i leave it for a few minutes on sleep... and so far it has only happened whilst listening to music.
Also, just for the record it is a week 38 model.
I might go into my local apple store on Saturday and see what i say, but sod's law says that when i try and show the genius it wont work.

  • When I login to second user account I get a blank white screen.

Just updated to 10.8.3, was also having issues that seemed to be related to Spotlight and TM backups. Issues on my main user account seem to have been resolved, but I have not reactivated Spotlight or TM yet.
When I try to login to my wife's user account, it just hangs on a white screen. I've tried repairing user permissions, and also resetting PRAM and NVRAM. Disk verify checks out fine.

    Library/Fonts:
[A hole bunch, removed to shorten post...]
Does the problem account also have a lot of fonts in the home folder? That could be the reason for a login failure. Otherwise see below.
Please read this whole message carefully, especially the warnings, before doing anything.
    1. The changes to your configuration suggested here should be considered provisional; they may not solve your problem, or they may remove functionality that you find useful. If a third-party system modification that you want to keep is causing the problem, seek help from its developer.
    2. WARNING: Back up all data now if you haven’t already done so. Before proceeding, you must be sure you can restore your system to its present state, even if it becomes unbootable. If you’re not sure you can do that, STOP — DON’T CHANGE ANYTHING. If you’re dissatisfied with the results of the procedure suggested below, restore from your backup. I will not be responsible for the consequences, and I will not be able to help, if you ignore this warning.
    3. You should either remove or update the following system modification(s), if an update is available from the developer:
    N/A
and definitely remove at least the following:
    Logitech Control Center
    † PeerGuardian
    Hotspot Shield
    † Conduit
    4. Whatever you remove must be removed completely, and (unless otherwise specified in this message) the only way to do that is to use the uninstallation tool, if any, provided by the third-party developers, or to follow their instructions. If the software has been incompletely removed, you may have to re-download or even reinstall it in order to finish the job. I can't be more specific, because I don't install such things myself. Please do your own research.
Here are some general guidelines to get you started. Suppose you want to remove something called “BrickYourMac.” First, consult the product's Help menu, if there is one, for instructions. Finding none there, look on the developer's website, say www.brickyourmac.com. (That may not be the actual name of the site; if necessary, search the web for the product name.) If you don’t find anything on the website or in your search, contact the developer. While you're waiting for a response, download BrickYourMac.dmg and open it. There may be an application in there such as “Uninstall BrickYourMac.” If not, open “BrickYourMac.pkg” and look for an Uninstall button.
Again, please don't ask me to do this research for you. You can do it better than I can, because I haven't installed the product and I may not even know what it is.
If you can’t remove software in any other way, you’ll have to erase your boot volume and perform a clean reinstallation of OS X. Never install any third-party software unless you're sure you know how to uninstall it; otherwise you may create problems that are very hard to solve.
WARNING: Trying to remove complex system modifications by hunting for files by name often will not work and may make the problem worse. The same goes for "utilities" that purport to remove software.
    5. I recommend that you never reinstall the modifications marked with a dagger (†) above, if any. If your problem is resolved after uninstalling all the above modifications and rebooting, but you still want to use some of those not marked with a dagger, you can experiment with putting them back, one at a time, testing carefully after each step. Keep in mind that system modifications may be incompatible with each other or with future OS X updates, so it may not be clear which one is at fault.
    6. If you still have problems after making the suggested changes and rebooting, post again. Remember: if you don’t like the results of this procedure, you can undo it by restoring from the last backup you made before you started.
You installed the Conduit spyware. To remove it, back up all data, then follow the instructions on this page:
    Help Center | Community Toolbar
If those instructions don't work, proceed as follows.
Triple-click the line below to select it:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Conduit
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). From the Finder menu bar, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder…
Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return. A Finder window should open with a folder named "Conduit" selected. If it does, delete the selected item.
    Repeat with this line:
    /Applications/Toolbars
Now you're deleting a folder named "Toolbars". You may be prompted for your login password. Next, copy this line:
    /Library
Select Go to Folder… again and paste. Don't delete the Library folder. Delete only the following items inside it, if they exist.
    Application Support/Conduit
    InputManagers/CTLoader
    LaunchAgents/com.conduit.loader.agent.plist
    ScriptingAdditions/ct_scripting.osax
Close the Finder windows you opened. Log out and log back in.

  • My MacBook was acting weird so I restarted it and when I login a white screen flashes and goes back to the login page. Help?

My MacBook was acting weird like sometimes I would log on and I wouldn't be able to type my password for a couple seconds, but it usually logged in after that. Then I left my computer open after installing the recent update after that all my applications were not responding. So I shut it down, when I turned it back on about an hour later it went to this loading screen and then to the login like usual. After I tried logging in a white screen flashed and it went back to the login/ password screen like nothing happened. Any ideas on what happened and what I can do to fix it?

    Reinstall OS X;
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Help! When I select "Phone" it tries to open and gives me a white screen and closes. I cannot view my missed calls or voicemails.

If anyone knows anything about this...
When I select "Phone" on my home screen the iPhone attempts to open it, brings up a white screen and then will shut back down. I have 8 missed calls or voicemails yesterday and I couldn't check any of them. Does this happen to anyone else?
Also, when I receive a call and I answer it does not give me the ability to end call or any of my options (sources, keypad, etc.) during the call.
Basically, I can't do anything with my contacts, favorites, missed calls or voicemails.
    Can someone please help?

I have tried that multiple times. I have also made sure that I have the latest updates. Would haveing 27,000+ contacts have anything to do with it?
Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't

  • I performed the update to version 7.3.5 and now I cannot undo the update that eliminated a toolbar that I use every day. How do I recover my toolbar? With the upgrade on a windows 7 machine, whenever I open firefox I get a white screen.

Uninstall to my prior version is not working. I need to go back to the original version for two reasons. First, I can no longer use one of the toolbars that was compatible to previous version, but is no longer supported so it was disabled, and two when I try and open firefox from any short cut, I get a solid white screen and I do not get any toolbars nor is there any way to navigate to a tabbed option since I can not see anything and it just hangs there with out going to my homepage or anything else.

Do you see the menu bar or anything else? As for the missing toolbar, this is the case for 90% of Firefox users, for instance the Google Toolbar. To restore it, you need to install Mozilla's Add-On Compatibility Reporter extension from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/15003 and restart Firefox twice.
As for the white screen, I am not sure what you mean, but your install looks corrupted, you probably need to uninstall Firefox and reinstall from scratch. You may spend too much time and effort otherwise. Back up your settings first if you have any, like Firefox bookmarks.

    Your response will be helpful.

    Hey,
I have the exact same problem as you have described. I also used my ipod as a watch but starting from today, whenever I unlock it the screen turns white until a reset is done. Even a factory reset through itunes didn't fix it.
    Have you found any solution?
