N900 Camera: Video focus same problem as on N97?
Ok so i've seen a few threads querying about the 2nd camera. Not asking about that. I noticed that back when i was using the N97 that when you tried to zoom in on images or even writing on the wall during a video recording, the camera's focus wouldn't auto update. however when you are taking simple stills, the camera tries to focus before you take a shot.
to me i see no difference between the two and by that i mean the same problem has been ported over to the n900.
Anyone else notice this? has this been mentioned on maemo.org or other sites were developers are aware of this?

I visited the camera store and we discovered that my camera lcd was set to the maximum brightness level which completely distorted any understanding of my exposure. What I now see on the lcd in terms of ligt and shadow is very similar to what I see on my computer screen.
Maybe you can shed light on this:
I also may need to just upgrade my imac. On the camera store's late model imac my images were tac sharp but on my imac they look quite soft and still have less light.
There is also still some difference in terms of color settings. My camera's colors have a brighter pinkish tone and on the camera store's imac and mine the tone is yellowish orange.
I will try DPReview and Nikoncafe. My first step is to reset my cameras to factory defaults and then upload and compare.

I just got a brand new Geforce FX 5200 Ultra card to replace my Radeon 9000 Pro. I still have the same problem. When I still had the the Radeon I bought some more memory to go with the 256MB dimm I started with. When I install the 512MB dimm, I get no image on my monitor. When I remove it, it runs fine. I get the exact same problem with the new card as I did with the old one. What the hell is causing this problem. I had the new dimm tested and it works.
My setup is:
Processor: 2.4 GHz Intel P4
Video: BFG Asylum Geforce FX 5200 Ultra 128MB
Sound: Creative Soundblaster Live 5.1
Mobo: 645E Max (MS-6547)
Memory: Kingston PC2700 256MB,512MB KVR333X64C25
Interface Card:Matrox ATA 133 interface card
Hard Drives: 40GB Seagate 5400 RPM (ST340823A), 80GB Matrox 7200 RPM
Is this a bios setting problem? Is my mobo at fault? If so, will updating the bios help.
If I need to replace the mobo, can anyone suggest good mobo that will work with my current memory.

MattI have tried the 512MB dimm alone. It is of the same model as the 256MB dimm (KVR333X64C25) which is Kingston. It is producing the same symptoms as the 9000 Pro card did. I had the memory tested and both dimms work. Both dimms are Kingston PC2700 dimms.

L920 Pro Cam Manual Focus to Infinity problem
I am loving the Pro Cam, but I recently found a problem with the manual focus...when I use manual and set it all the way up to infinity distance, really far away objects are actually out of focus. The shot actually seems to focus on subjects ~10 feet in front, and happens with both image and video capture. Is this intentional, or actually a glitch?
In the image samples, the first one is a snapshot of a video taken with manual focus at infinity. Notice it seems to be focused on the crowd's heads two or three rows in front instead of the whales. The second is a picture taken with auto focus.

Using a SDHC card adapter I can import directly on my iPad2 videos (.mov) taken with a Panasonic DMC-ZS3. The same video files (same file format) imported in Aperture 3.3 cannot be synchronized with iPad. Is Aperture causing the problem?
Oh, baby! This bad boy flies!! Here's what to expect:
I had 40,000 images in Aperture 3 and it was dog slow at everything. I installed 3.1 update today. It took 5 minutes to update the database and then behaved marginally better than before at ASIC library navigation. I was disappointed.
Then I QUIT the app. It took a couple of hours to "update files for sharing" with a counter that went to 110,000 images. So it must have updated every thumbnail and variation of preview. Turned it back on , and BAM. Came up fully in seconds. Paused for 10 seconds ten everything was lickrty split. For the first time ever, I can use the Projects view with all 791 projects and scroll quickly. I even put it in photos modevand whipped thru all 49,000 images!
Haven't done anybprocessing yet, but i'm liking it!!

N8 Camera / Video Recording Problem
I have my N8 for good few months and enjoyed using it 'til recently.
'Unusual Problem Occurred' comes up on the screen every time I want to switch my camera from taking pictures to video mode, and you asked to turn the phone off and on again. Even if you won't do it, it will restart itself. All software is up to date, I did reset the phone to factory defaults and it worked for few hours and the same problem came up again. It is obviously software issue if it works from time to time.
Please advise.I have exactly the same problem and it too started only a few days ago. I have been talking to the customer care team and after a couple of long conversations and useless advice on what to do, we have come to the conclusion that it is a bug in the latest software update that is preventing the camera from working correctly.
I tried the system reset by doing *#7780# as advised, which did nothing. Some threads that I have read about other people having the same problem suggested letting the phone battery run down; this did nothing either.
Nokia then suggested that it might be because I wasn't running a memory card and there was insufficient space, so I should delete pics and movies- this just annoyed me because I had 9GB free, which if it was the case would make the phone even more ridiculous.
After some time and several trips to speak to the level 2 advisor, they finally concurred that it is a glitch in the latest software, which i assume you are running also; because my phone like yours had been running ok up until i installed the new updates. they said that the team are aware of the problem and are working to rectify in new update to come-no date on that and I'm not so sure i believe them. So for now we will have to sit and wait, or try and get a different phone.
there was another solution they put forward-to re-flash my phone, taking it back to its original settings and software (so my super smart phone will be running the oldest software, with the glitches the new updates were supposed to erradicate!). this would be done by my local service centre-which means i would have to send the phone away.
I am very annoyed that this would occur as the only reason i went against tec reports on the phone and bought it, was because of the great imaging capabilities of the phone-I wish i had gone for one of the competitors if it is not fixed soon.

I have a MacBook Pro early 2011. Does not start. After the apple show, a blank screen appear. The service said that the problem is with the video plaquue in the logic board. Need to change. Cost lmmost the same than a new MacBook Pro. Somebody has the same problem? What we can do?
I hate to break this to you, but life isn't fair. If your job is that critically in need of a computer, then you should have a spare to use for just this kind of situation or have your employer provide you with a computer to use.
Computers break down, just like cars. If your car breaks down do you curse the car maker or get it fixed? Surely, you paid more for your car than the computer.
This is reality. Best get used to it because it won't get any better. -
i have the latest version of free Quicktime, Itunes and unable to view video on my PC all i get is a pink screen the audio is OK i have uninstalled and installed several times same problem, i have a Iphone 4 and unable to view the content.
Open your QuickTime control panel (either via the Control panels, or by going "Edit > Preferences > QuickTime Preferences" in the Quicktime Player). In the Advanced tab, uncheck Enable Direct3D video acceleration:
... and click OK. Quit and restart the QuickTime Player prior to checking to see if the settings change has had any effect. -

My USB CF (Compact Flash) Card reader is not mounting on my 2.5 GHZ Intel Core i5 iMac anymore.
Last week it worked fine to get pictures from my camera but now it won't mount at all.
I ejected it in the correct way rather than just disconnecting it but now i cannot get it to remount!
I cannot even see it in the disk utility or system profiler.
I have tried another card reader (a brand new one bought today) and the same problem exists. I've also tried different cards to see if that made a difference and they still arent being picked up on the Mac.
I have done all the usual things like rebooting, unplugging all other USB devices and then trying but nothing has worked.
I'm a photographer and I'm at my wits end here. I know the cards are fine as i have been using them without issue and they are also new.
Note: If I plug the camera in directly to the Mac, the Mac picks it up just fine as it always has done. Its just the card readers that it wont pick up anymore.
If anyone has any ideas at all other than the following (my so called friends advice) you'd earn my undting love:
Buy a PC
Use the camera (Thats why i bought the reader in the first place - importing RAW files from the camera is SLOW!)
Replace your CF cards (I have three 8GB cards two of which i had never used til today and they dont work either!)
Buy a new card reader (this is the 5th one in two days - none work on the Mac)

LIsaOK, restart in Safe Mode, this will clear some caches. It's possible one or more is corrupt. To restart in Safe Mode when you hear the start up tone hold down the Shift Key until you see a progress bar. Let it fully boot then restart normally and test.
Also I am assuming you have checked Finder - Preferences - General and see what boxes are checked in "Show these items on desktop." You can also mount an item in Disk Utility, simply highlight it and then look in the File menu for Mount..... -
Live!Cam Video IM Pro - Audio Problem
Installation went normally and uneventfully (Windows XP SP3). I tried to do an AIM video chat session, I could hear the other person clearly, but he said the sound was very weak and breaking up on his end. Video was normal.
Is there somewhere I can adjust microphone setting to increase sensitivity of pickup?
Is there something else I should be looking at?

LenI too have the same problem. It seems to be a flaw with the software or the hardware. If you disable the auto exposure setting the frame rate will still site at 4-5 fps.
If you then move the exposure slider to the far left and then back to the right the frame rate will immediatley increase to 20-30 fps, but the exposure is quite poor even with the adjustment of brightness, contrast, etc. Is this a software bug or a hardware flaw? -
Live! Cam Video IM Pro VF0410 Frame Rate Problem
Hello I'm from Turkey sorry for my English first. I bought this camera yesterday and i tried it on 2 PC.First one is using Win Vista Home Premium (4Gb RAM + Core 2 Duo E6750),second one is Win XP Home (Gb Ram + Pentium M .8). In these PC's i can't get more than 4 or 5 FPS. I only saw 8 FPS for one second. I downloaded the?latest drivers from the site which is v.0.0 (2.68 Mb).Nothing changed it is 4 FPS again.What can i do what is this problem. Is my camera faulty ?

Hello. The Youtube videos I placed in a site made in Muse, don't have sound and don't auto play in my Android phone. Can anyone tell me why? The same video has no problems when I watch it at the youtube site on my phone. It has sound on an iphone, but doesn't auto play either. Thanks!

Why so I keep getting 'blocked-plug in' message! Very frustrating. Never happened before. related to Adobe Flash Player for videos. Have deleted Adobe and put the new Adobe on, but still get message. Seems others have had this same problem.

Install problem on snow leopard. Circle and picture of CPU. Reboot came back the same
Install problem oh snow leopard. It stopped and I have an illustration of a CPU and something like a picture of the switch. And a circle thing like it spinning.
I let it go for 9 hours and then tried rebooting.
