N95 dialing/answering in speakerphone

On the N95, how do I dial or receive a call in speakerphone mode?
When dialing, the loudspeaker option doesn't show until it connects to the other end and is dialing.
When receiving a call, I have to answer first, then I can go into loudspeaker mode.
Is there a "one-touch" way to do this? The current way is inconvenient when on the road.
What would be ideal is: When dialing, right after I press the send button I can press the left/right soft key to go into loudspeaker mode. When receiving, I can press the left/right soft key to answer in loudspeaker mode. This seems more intuitive to me.
Thanks.

Most likely the telco is prompting for the digits prior to the CONNECT message and therefore UCCX will not be able to send the DTMF as it hasn't received a CTI message from CUCM that the call is connected.  It still thinks it's ringing and waiting for an answer.  So my guess is you cannot do this.  You will need to figure out a different work around.
One could be doing a blind transfer (call redirect) and let the caller enter the code.
Another could be get a different circuit which does not require a code (centralized billing) and use that exclusively for applications like this one, leaving the other trunks for regular LD calls.

  • Hi, Why my iPhone 4s answer in speakerphone

    Hi
I just activated my iPhone 4s and when I call or receive a call the phone activates the speakerphone automatically even if I have a headset connected.
When I click on speaker phone button it doesn't connect either to headset or normal speaker.
I appreciate if someone can help or if you are facing the same issue

From what a read it's a hardware issue and maybe you are unlucky to get two faulty phones in a row. I think they should replace it for you again.
I have done all the trickes in the book but with no luck.
I took back and got a new one and running smoothly with the wired headset and my car bluetooth.
Hope I don't get another surprise.
    All the best

  • N95 Stop answering calls on opening slide

Is there a way to disable answering a call by opening the slide on an N95? I want to answer by pressing just the answer key.

This is a -great- question. Every time I pull the phone out of my pocket it's already opened the slider and answered the call! I can't find an option that -requires- you to press the "send" green-phone key to answer a call.
    Is it in there somewhere?

  • 7961 answering on speakerphone when call answered by CUEAC.

We have recently installed CUEAC 3.1.1.5 and it is set to use the handset.  When the operator answers the call, the phone rings once and the call goes directly to speakerphone.  When we call the phone directly it does not get answered on the speakerphone.  How can we stop this calls from being answered automatically on the speakerphone?

check the preferance on the AC client.  There should be something that states what the operator can use.  Headset, speaker or handset.  If its locked out, then you have to adjust at the AC Server

  • Directly Dialing a Phone's Speakerphone/Intercom

We have a client that is requesting to be able to dial directly to the speakerphone (intercom) of another phone. We know that we can configure an intercom button on the phones to do that, but if there are 20 phones in the office, the receptionist would have to have an additional 20 buttons just for that purpose. Is there a key combination that can be pressed before dialing the extension that will do the same thing? Ex: 6101 would automatically go to the voicemail of extension 101.
We currently use CCA and CME. Yep, UC5xx. Phones are SPA509G. I can dial directly to voicemail, but my question is regarding dialing directly to speakerphone/intercom. Does this help clear things up?

You will need to configure additional ephone-dn (these can be single line), configured as intercom, You can assign these as overlay to the main DN.
Note: I have no idea if that is possible with CCA. No issue with CLI.

  • Advice on Navigation Car Kits

    Hi All,
i'd like to hear from you that have seen or used both the Magellan & TomTom Car Kits Please.
Are they much the same or is one far better unit than the other?
I guess all i'd like it to do is be able to charge the battery, have a good speaker & good GPS signal.
I can't really think of any other feature i may need? never having a GPS before
The iTunes App that'll be used i have yet to buy but i'm guessing it'll be the MetroView Australia
it seems good value at $25:00, the TomTom is at $80: the Navigon is at $90: ATM.
So the MVA is a no brainer if u live in the land of Oz that is.

I've owned the Magellan kit and played with the TomTom kit and the TomTom kit is definitely superior. My biggest complaint with the Magellan was the built in speaker didn't shut off automatically when you had the cradle connected to an aux jack. You had to turn the sound down on the speaker with a very tiny dial on the side of the unit. The TomTom is a much more intelligent unit in this regard.
I also didn't like the fact that on the Magellan the button to answer the speakerphone was on the backside of the unit and was difficult to locate when you were driving which pretty much negated the advantages of "hands free" for your car. A plus for the Magellan though is that if you have a case on your phone it is adjustable to fit. It's pretty clever the way they handle that. The TomTom kit is designed for a bare phone. The hands free on the TomTom kit works via bluetooth and is definitely better quality.
You don't mention if you have a 3 series or 4 series phone. If you have an iPhone 4 you'll have a problem with the TomTom but I believe they just released a (free?) adaptor for it that will work with the new phone. Other folks on the web had also come up with their own fixes for that as well. The TomTom comes with a windshield mount but I believe ProClip is selling a custom TomTom kit with a standard 4 hole mount plate in case you already have a mounting system in your vehicle. www.proclipusa.com for info.
Personally, I don't think either one is a necessary solution. The GPS in my iPhone 3GS was good enough on its own and the GPS in my iPhone4 is excellent. I'm using a Blueant S4 hands free unit on the visor which is working perfectly and is 100% hands free with total voice command operation with a 3GS or 4. I went with an adjustable Cradle from ProClip for my iPhone 4 that has a passthrough connector and I've attached a cable to the cradle that includes a USB charger plugged into a lighter socket adaptor and a stereo connector plugged into the aux jack on my car stereo. Incoming calls automatically shut down the sound to the radio and route the call out to the bluetooth. The Blueant S4 supports A2DP audio over bluetooth so you can hear your turn-by-turn GPS commands via the Blueant or over the car stereo via Aux input in my case.
    Hope that helps you out!
    James
P.S. The iphone dock cable that gives you usb and audio out via mini-din jack can be found on ebay.

  • 7970 Phone UI - Autofocus call tab on incoming call

I 'm trying to auto-focus on call tab when a call income.
I need this feature because my customer often use the xml directory and if he left it open and pull the phone handset for answer the phone dial the directory number instead of answer.
    Thanks

Auto Answer connects incoming calls automatically after a ring or two. Auto Answer works with either the speakerphone or headset. Choose one of the following options to activate the Auto Answer feature for the directory number:
    Auto Answer Off
    Auto Answer with Headset
    Auto Answer with Speakerphone
Make sure that the headset or speakerphone is not disabled when you choose Auto Answer with headset or Auto Answer with speakerphone. Do not configure Auto Answer for devices that have shared lines.
You can also configure Auto-pickup. It allows a user to use one-touch, pickup functionality for call pickup, group call pickup, and other group call pickup.

  • Handset problems

I have 5  SPA 504g and am experiencing some frustrating problems with just one device.
Pressing the headset button, or speaker buttonl button will not properly end a call. For example if I answered the call using headset, I would normally push the headset button to end the call and the light would turn off. Now, the light turns off but I have to press the line key on the right side of the LCD to actually end the call.
Similarly, pressing the voicemail button would normally dial voicemail with speakerphone. Now it just dials voicemail and I have to manually press speaker phone or headset button.
Normally when you pickup the handset, you would hear a dial tone and be prompted for the number. But nothing happens when I lift my handset
If I dial out and liftthe handset, there is 2 way audio, but hanging up the handset does not end the call, again I have to press the line key on the right side of the LCD.
    Hardware ver is 1.0.1 (0001)
    Software version 7.5.5
I have factory reset the device and I still encounter these problems. This unit isn't even 2 years old.

Well, the issues are mostly resolved magically without me doing anything.
But I am still getting these issues where my phone is practically having a seizure. The device lcd wakes up on its own and the lcd changes as if I'm about to dial a number, then it goes back to normal. But this happens many times in a row, and quite fast.
When i peek over at the syslog you can see the call state being changed at a ridiculous
    [0]CC:NewCallState 0/6
    [0]CC:NewCallState 6/0
Now, I do have several devices on the network and all using the same syslog, so I don't know how to tell which entry is for which device. But when I see the lcd spazzing out like I described, then the syslog console spewing out those 2 callstates, it looks pretty obvious what's going on.
I just now enabled the debugging, and it happened just once after doing so while writing this, but it didnt look much different than when debug was off.
The events below and above occured around 8:50-9:00AM PST.

I received a phone call from a customer near the end of writing this. All of a sudden the call ended. This happened earlier and I thought the customer hung up earlier (before I was capturing) and when I tried calling back the lcd would say invalid number. I had to call the customer back from my cellphone.
Well, when it happened again this time. I was a little more suspicious about the invalid error. So I went to another desk and called the customer no problem (same model spa504).
When I can figure out how to properly anonymize my packet captures and fulll syslog I'll post them. Hopefully by the end of today.

  • No Presence Status With 9971 Phones

    CUCM - 9.1.2.10000-28
CUCM IM and Presence - 9.1.1.31900-1
    9971 Load - sip9971.9-3-2-10
Have an issue with the 9971s not updating presence information on Jabber (windows and osx).
All phones are able to be controled from Jabber, ie. Dial, answer etc.
I have made sure of the following:
User is added to phone and line.
Phone is associated to with users profile.
Proper CTI permissions applied including allow control of phones supporting conferencing, CTI enabled etc.
    Primary DN is selected.
    All phones have CTI enabled.
Presence status is updated just fine on all other devices. If I move myself from the 9971 and control a 7965 presence status begins to function. However once moved back to 9971 presence status stops updating and Available never changes to On Call when I go off hook.
Again I can control the phone without any issues from Jabber.
This only happens to my users that are assigned 9971 phones.
Any ideas or places to look that I might have missed?

    Hi,
I copy here from the docs

Can you check it against your scenario?
    Presence Information
The presence status "on a call" is displayed for a user in the following situations:
    Outgoing Calls
The user initiates a call from Cisco Jabber for Windows in Extend and Connect mode.
The user initiates a call from a device that is configured as a remote destination which is routed using Unified CM or Unified CM with Unified CM SME.
    Incoming Calls
The user answers a call on a device configured as a remote destination routed using Unified CM or Unified CM with Unified CM SME.
The user answers a call routed to a device configured as a remote destination using Cisco Single Number Reach.
The presence status "on a call" is not displayed for a user in the following situations:
When the user initiates a call from a device that is configured as a remote destination; the call is not routed using Unified CM or Unified CM with Unified CM SME.
When the user answers a call on a device that is configured as a remote destination; the call is not routed using Unified CM or Unified CM with Unified CM SME.

  • CUCM 8.6 Manager Assistant Console

I am currently setting up a test setup of the Manager Assistant Console in proxy mode and have a few questions about the proxy lines and the intercom lines.
In the setup guide, Manager and Assistant Phone Configurations tell you to configure the phones with the following setting: (We have 7962 phones)
"If using the Cisco Unified IP Phone 7900 series, except Cisco Unified IP Phone 7940 or 7960, configure the intercom feature "
I assumed that these were standard intercoms like I had set up for some other Managers in the past. I had gone to "Call Routing>Intercom" and set up an intercom partition (Intercom1), a CSS (Intercom 1 CSS, includes ONLY the Intercom1 partition), and several DN's for intercoms (3-digits and out of range of our regular 5-digit DN's on phones). Then I created some custom phone button templates that included one intercom line in addition to the phone lines. This keeps intercoms lines separate from regular DN's so users can't call someone's intercom line as if it were a regular DN and they use the whisper mode by default placing the receiving phone in speaker mode but muted so the caller cannot surreptitiously listen in on someone else.
So, this is what I did also for the manager and assistant phones for use with the Assistant console. Simply created some more Intercom DN's and assigned them to the Manager and Assistant Phones using custom button templates that include a 'real' Intercom Line.
Everywhere else that talks about the intercom lines for the Manager Assistant Console seems to indicate that they are not 'real' intercom lines but simply regular DN's that have "Auto Answer w/ Speaker" turned on and are in the ONNET (everyone) partition. This means that there is no Whisper feature and the assistant (or anyone who knows the managers 'intercom DN' can spy on the manager. This is totally unacceptable.
I think I can configure this using 'real' Intercom lines that have their own partition (so only other intercom users can reach it) and have the whisper feature (auto answer w/ speakerphone BUT MUTED) except when it comes to the IPMA Clusterwide Parameter, "All User Partition" that is supposed to be configured with the name of the partition that includes the Intercom DN's AND the Proxy DN's.
The two possible solutions I can see are:
    1. The Clusterwide Parameter is only for Automatic Configuration and I am manually configuring everything so maybe I don't have to configure this parameter while just using 'real' Intercoms in the Intercom1 partition while setting up proxy lines in the ONNET partition
    OR
    2. I might be able to configure the proxy DN's to use the Intercom partition instead of the ONNET partition.

The answer turned out to be 1. You can use real intercom lines just fine and in fact they have several advantages.
    1. By using real intercom lines you initially get the one-way Whisper mode and the called party can press a button to go two way. The IPMA way are two-way only.
    2. By using real intercom lines they stay intercom lines even when the assistant is logged out. The IPMA way causes the intercom lines to revert to normal phone lines when the assistant logs out.

  • Is there a setting in UCCX for long an agent phone rings before it sets him to NOT READY?

    Greetings,
This is a new install, version 8.5.1.11..2-22, and we're in the testing phase. So, when calls are presented to an agent the phone rings for about 3 seconds (maybe 5) and then the agent is placed in the NOT READY state on the CAD and the call is presented to the next available agent. And the same thing happens, his phone rings for about 3 seconds (maybe 5) and then he's placed on NOT READY and if there is another agent the pattern repeats.
IF you have the phone set to auto-answer with speakerphone - the call connects
IF the agent is fast enough to answer via the CAD gui - the call connects
So, I'm thinking there must be a setting buried somewhere we've missed on how long the agent phone will ring before the system puts him on NOT READY. Or could it be something else?
Thanks for your time and attention!
    Keith

  • NM-16AM module question in my cisco 3660

    hi,
I have 3 of these modules.
with 1 module, when I configure a line and I connect to the line I get only a black screen.
when I do the exact same thing with another module, (configure a line on the 2nd module) it works fine.
my question is, how can I know if a module is broken or not functional. can this happen?
any advice on how to find out if a module is broken or if I single modem in the module is dead.
    thank you.
also when I use debug modem and I call a modem that works fine I get this
11w6d: Modem 5/14 Mcom: in modem state 'Dialing/Answering'
11w6d: Modem 5/14 Mcom: in modem state 'Incoming ring'
11w6d: Modem 5/14 Mcom: in modem state 'Waiting for Carrier'
but when I don't get this I know in advance that it's not going to work and that I'll get just a black screen.
    any advice please?
    thank you.

To identify a functional module , we need to look at the front panel LED of 3660 router. If READY 0, 1, 2, 3 is blinking green it indicates,it indicates the functional module is installed in the slot.If this LED is OFF, it indicates the slot is empty or the module is not functional.
