N96 issues version 11.101

Hi there i can report the following issues:
1. the background lighting does not work! 1 degree lower then max, and the screenlight is flickering (lower higher lower higher very fast)
2. The option where you can set the brightness also doesn't work right! some degrees do not change the brightness of the screen lighting at all!
3. sometimes the backlight of the upper buttons dont go off! they just always stay on until you off/on switch your phone.
4. the backlight of the screen sometimes freezes doesn't go off on/off switch doesn't change, the only way to fix this is to change the time the backlight should be on and save it.
5. Phone often wont get out of button lock mode. slide wont work either!
6. camera autofocus is still not good!

i have the same version and i am having a lot of issues, when i open the gallery at any thing (music, video & pictures) i get a request to connect to the net, either way i go "say yes or no"
it shows an error and tries again.
it is very buggy and locks up a lot!
can anybody tell me how did they get to this point after the n95 8gb the most stable phone i ever seen and the cousin to the n96...

    I tried updating this morning and was still told by NSU that 10.065 was still the current version. I phoned Optus to find out how the ticket I lodged three weeks ago about 'approving the release' was going, only to be told there was no resolution and that the ball was in Nokia's court.
    I rang Nokia again to see if there was ANY way this could be done, and lo and behold, as we went through the same process again, it said version 11.101 was available for download!!
    HOO-BLOODY-RAY!!!
    The download is 116MB, and is downloading as I write.
    Time will tell if this solves my problems...

    Oh dear...
    Here's my experience with updating the N96 to Firmware 11.101
    So, the phone was plugged in and fully charged as prescribed. The update file downloaded and then proceeded to install. It estimated 15 minutes to go.
    With 2 minutes to go, the phone appeared to reboot, and displayed a plain, white screen, with:-
    11.101
    Test Mode
    Nokia
    displayed in upside-down landscape on the screen. It stayed like this, and about every ten minutes, would disconnect from the PC (hearing the USB disconnect sound), the screen would go white, and reboot again to show the same Test Mode display.
    I called Nokia Tech Support. They had never seen this issue before. They advised I disconnect and reboot the phone, which I did, but had to remove the battery in order to get it out of Test Mode. The NSU program on the PC locked up and I had to delete the app from Windows Task Manager.
    The phone rebooted, apparently trouble-free. The menu and the screen rotate seem ever-so-slightly more responsive, however, there was little improvement on the voice dialling. In fact, trying to dial in this way caused the phone to crash and reboot. I will say, this was a 'soft' reboot, not a complete and utter bomb like before. Is this an improvement? I don't know!
    Trying to fast-forward through a video by holding the 'Next track' button down does not work. It continues to show the last frame displayed, while the sound and time do indeed fast forward and play correctly.
    I can't comment on the battery life as yet, but the upgrade process DID take a lot out of it, so be sure to be fully charged before attempting to upgrade (or have your power charger connected).

  • Report Error only for some users - Unsupported RPL stream version detected: 101.116.1047292257. Expected version: 10.6.

    Hi,
    We have certain SSRS report  (which includes subreports) which
    many users are able to access, but
    some users cannot access- they get this error:
    "Unsupported RPL stream version detected: 101.116.1047292257. Expected version: 10.6."
    (We are not using SP integrated mode)(using SSRS 2008 R2)
    No problem in VS or on server when trying to run this report.
    User having this problem has the sam ewindows and explorer versions.
    Please advice

    Another detail- on the problematic user's computer if I run the explorer using my credentials, the report runs fine.

  • N85 firmware version 30.101 problem when watching ...

    After i update my n85 version from 30.019 to 30.101, i face a problem when trying to watch youtube without using the youtube application. When i use wifi and go to www.youtube.com, find video and klick on a video to start it, then Realplayer starts and says "loading" and then it failed to load the video. Before i update to 30.101, it will play the video by flash player like normal desktop screen without using real player. The problem now is it will stop on real player without play the video. The only way i can watch youtube right now is using youtube application. But i dont prefer using youtube application because the browser is diff frm the page u see frm the desktop screen.

    I'm also having issues when trying to view a video and real player comes up and says loading but it never does. Whether youtube, a live stream, or video on demand, this issue has been happening now consistently where the video will not play on a URL within the web browser. Please help Nokia! Where is your support?

    Hi. Why firmware 30.101 is only for 4 product codes??????? Nokia why??????????  I waiting very long time for this firmware for ALL PRODUCT CODES!!!     I was by second hand N96-1 one week ago and i was happy like a little monkey,but wan i came home and start to surfing phone options I realised that my n96 is VERY SLOW!!!
    And I search on the internet for updates and I saw that I have feuw new updates for my N96!
    Because I tip *#0000# and I get this message  from the phone:

    I was connected my N96 with my PC with USB and was open Nokia Software Updater and I do everything what I saw on the sreen step by step,but on the end I get message that I have LATEST VERSION of Software what is not truth,because I put my phone CODE on this site and I get message that the latest version is 11.101 but on your site stays that the larest version is 33.033!
    Please HELP ME,how I can update my N96 on latest version 33.033 or even make him faster!!!
    P.S: Why I can't update my N96,I live in Belgium-Antwerp ,my phone CODE is 0573319 and serial nummber is 356406023247546!

  • N96 issues upgrading to v30.033

    Hi there,
    I have just tried to upgrade the firmware in my Nokia N96-1 (RM-247) from 12.x to 30.033 using NSU on the latest version of PC Suite on a Vista SP2 machine. After NSU completed - apparently successfully - the phone started up and asked for my PIN as per usual, however it continued to load active standby visibly in the background of the PIN entry prompt. I entered it, at which point the phone just started going berserk. There are a couple of applications I have set to load on startup (about three), but as these tried to load, active standby would take over and redisplay. Then the application would try to take back the screen focus, then active standby (rinse and repeat). This happened slowly at first, but eventually it was almost constantly flickering active standby on and off without any button being pressed or stuck down. The phone has become completely unusable - I can't load the menu, make phone calls, or anything. I tried to force exit all applications, but this has made no difference. I tried power cycling the phone (power off only the first time, then I tried removing the battery and SIM card for about 10 seconds), reinstalling the firmware.. all to no avail.
    I am now trying to reload my last backup, in the hope it restores version 12.x.
    Update: that didn't work either, and I am still having the same problem.
    I tried formatting it by TRYING to press call, *, and 3 all at once, then pressing the power button on the phone for one second - but that kind of key combination is almost impossible with this handset design without having a third hand.
    This is not the first time this phone has done this sort of thing on a firmware upgrade, and I am dreading taking it back to get it serviced - which will be for the FOURTH TIME in 8 months. This handset has been nothing but trouble from day one, and I am extremely disappointed and frustrated at Nokia's woeful and apparent lack of product testing, firmware testing, and user focus group testing on this product - all of which must have been forgone at Nokia HQ for drinking coffee and playing Wii.

    Hi,
    I might have the solution regarding the issues shehaal facing. In fact,  my n96 was having the same flickering trouble. O.K stright to the point, you got to key in *#7370# (reset) even though it is difficult to key in keep pressing the number(*#7370#) until the the phone switch to password protected section. Key in 12345 the phone will reset (important: you got to key in as fast as possible before the screen starts to flicker). For my case i required to reset twice, the first time nothing happened except  the phone has deleted most of the content in the memory. Nevertheless it is recommended to save all important information before you reset. If you've not done that just do it (don't worry even the phone is flickering you can still save your important information).
    The second attempt managed to restore the phone (remember the moment the screen shows "select the country you in" it means your phone are now o.k . The best part is your phone has been upgraded to v30.033 enjoy !!!!

    I am currently using safari version 6.0.2 ... and i am facing lot of issues with the browser... while trying to open any website using safari its taking too long and most of the times i am getting hour glass .... Really frustrating and when i used google chrome its working fine..

    When ever NOKIA available new firmware 30.101 for ALL product code  !!!!!  ???????????  Why this firmware is only for some product code????  1 month or 2 month.... !!!! I really want this firmware also for my product code 0543717 or 0567001  Is this so big problem for nokia ? Model N96 isn´t cheap,but support newest FW is very slow and wrong.

    plz correct the show visualisation in the music player.

    With the new firmware my N96 seems to hang up more a little more often than with the previous firmware, specially when using the internal GPS.
    The interface seems to be much faster than with the previous firmware, but not faster enough to use it with the speciall effects of the FP2 enabled.
    I have also noticed that the web browser is now slooooooooooooooow. Is a pity because you cannot use the mobile for web browsing confortably despite the high download speed that the device proves to have when used as a modem for my N800 or my PC.
    One observation for Nokia: plese use fastedt CPUs in the future, and even dedicated PU for graphics, sound or video.

    I am gettting a security problem when trying to open an attachment. What am I forgetting ?
    Perhaps this must be a folder-level trusted function ?

    Standard and Reader do not have the interface.
    There is the setAction method for the doc object that can programmatically set or change those actions. There is even a method for changing field scripts.
    And if one is really good the script can be added using an FDF file. Automatic Insertion of Document-Level JavaScripts by D.P. Story.

  • Imovie cropping issues version 10.0.2

    I was watching tutorial videos on Imovie. Once i came across the cropping section after I cropped 1 clip EVERY clip I upload now is automatically cropped. I also try to manually crop it back to orignal height and width but it doesnt fit the video right... Anyone know how to fix this?

    So my problem is that all my film content I have looks fine, but once I put it up in the section to combine clips its cropped and looks like this above. If I change the settings to fit then there are black bars on the left and right side. It DIDNT do this at first until I initially messed with the cropping options. I would try to crop it back but it doesnt scale back to fit the original video. I've been googling options and popular feedback is to mess with project properties and change the aspect ration but my Imovie does NOT have that option. (Most of my video clips are coming from quicktime screen recorder right now)
