NAC 4.7 CAS web login page url generation

We have had third part certs generated for the CAS and the CAM and these have installed OK, along with the relevant root and intermediate certificates, and the CAS/CAM are communicating fine.
However when a user is redirected to the authentication page, the url generated is using the CN from the certificate..
https://al-nac.sitename.local.companyname.co.uk/auth/perfigo.......etc.
However the machine cannot resolve the url.
We cannot add dns entries for this url, we only administer the sitename.local domain.
Is there a way for the CAS to request the user to access a URL via an IP address?
If I requested a new certificate, but use the IP address instead of the machine name, would the auhentiation page be referenced by this?
Regards
Tony

I'll give our certificate issuer a call this morning,however I'm sure they mentioned in the past they need a resolvable name to generate the certificate?
As when we asked for certificates for al-nam.sitename.local they have been unable to generate them, hence the CN=al-nac.sitename.local.company.co.uk
Is this the same for generating certificates against IP addresses?

Tony

  • Web Login Page - User Password Bug  -  11.1.2.1

    This may be covered in one of the thousand readme documents or elsewhere; however, I thought I'd share this here just in case it isn't or you don't want to search various PDF documents.
    We recently had a user complain that he could not login to FDM anymore. He used to be able to login with no issues; however, recently it would not let him in.
    To rule out system issues, we checked the following:
    - Verified others could authenticate FDM with no issue (OK)
    - Verified account unlocked in Active Directory (OK)
    - Tested logging in to FDM on other machines (Fail on all machines ruling out cookies, browsers, etc)
    - Checked Shared Services provisioning (To ensure he was indeed still provisioned for FDM)
    - Attempted logging in through Workbench (Failed, but good fail. Did not state unable to authenticate, but properly noted he was not an Admin and therefore could not use Workbench. Wonder why it "works" here but not web....)
    Since it was obviously not some type of system/account issue, we then checked:
    - What end user changes happened recently? (Password change)
    As the only recent change was the user's password change, I asked the user what the password changed to. The new password was pretty vanilla, though I did notice one potential issue in that it including the & character.
    As many here will note, the & character doubles as a concatenation character in VB/VBscript. As programs should be escaping any strings they attempt to process, this should not matter; however, if FDM isn't properly escaping via the web login page this may be causing the issue. After resetting the user's password without the & character, everything worked fine.
    So the moral of the story here is that apparently the FDM web login code behind doesn't escape the password string. The bad part is that it may prevent someone from logging in. The worse part is that this is a potential security problem since it may lead to code injection attacks.
    If you want to prevent end user issues, you may want to remove the & character from your domain's password policy.

    You may also be interested to know that using special character in the internal administrator id will cause issues on 11.1.2.1 and 11.1.2.2 actually documented the characters you should NOT use. See http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/epm_deploy_guide_1112200.pdf
    I have also seen issues with the internal admin password when it was > 25 characters which caused the shared services migration utility to fail.
    The moral of the story is "secure" passwords dont' always play well with software. Which I could see being a problem in the 1980's. With the advent of Unicode and it's ilk it's sad to see that arbitrary text is not properly escaped. I know I"m ranting to the choir though Charles ;).

  • WLC 2504 - French characters for guest web login page

    Good day,
    I have recently installed a WLC 2504 and I have the following issue:
    When I modify the text for the web login page (Under security/Web Auth/Web Auth page), if I use french caracters such as (é, è, à, etc...) in the message body, it does not show up correctly on users computers. As we're a bilingual country, I must put a bilingual text message. Are there any settings or workaround out there to rectify this?
    We're on version 7.2.103.0
    Thanks,
    Eric

    Thanks Scott, I'll have a look at the documentation.
    Right after sending this post, I tried typing the actual HTML code for the character instead and it seems to be working. I'm curious about custom webauth page, we may be able to customize it more than we thought we could do.
    Cheers,
    Eric

  • Web Authentication - Web login page not displayed

    Cisco 4402 WLC running version 5.2.193.0
    Access Points: AIR-LAP1142N
    I have configured an SSID for WebAuthentication. When a wireless client logs into the WLAN the PC will associate to the AP but will then stop at the WEBAUTH_REQD stage.
    Internet Explorer will show the attmept to redirect to the virtual port at 1.1.1.1 but will not bring up the login page.
    IE shows : https://1.1.1.1/login.html?redirect=www.google.co.ukhttp://www.google.co.uk/
    The network is a flat network so this SSID is using the management interface.
    DHCP is being provided by the controller for this WLAN.
    I know the classic design should be for this to be implemented on a separate VLAN but my customer has not VLANed his network yet and this is planned at a later stage. I have implemented this on a flat network before and it has worked.
    Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    I faced exactly the same problem as you have described above. The following is what fixed it for me, i am sure u try it to might fix it for u as well.
    In my scenario i found that my WLC controller had cipher-option sslv2 disabled. I enabled it and that resolved the issue for me.
    This is what needs to be done in order to do it :-
    It's best to enable it on the WLC and this is done from the CLI. It requires a reboot.
    ssh to the WLC
    enter the following command:-
    WLC>config network secureweb cipher-option sslv2 enable
    and then reboot.
    Once the WLC reboots u can check the status by issuing the following command:-
    WLC>show network summary
    The output should look similar to the following
    RF-Network Name............................. GTCR-CH-RF-GA
    Web Mode.................................... Enable
    Secure Web Mode............................. Enable
    Secure Web Mode Cipher-Option High.......... Disable
    Secure Web Mode Cipher-Option SSLv2......... Enable
    As u can see the Secure Web Mode Cipher-Option SSLv2 is now enabled.
    This should work.
    Hope this helps and all the best.

  • No Guest web Login Page

    I have setup an E1000 with no errors. Using a Win7 laptop, I can access both connections. Using  XP laptops people cannot use my guest account. They connect but the Cisco welcome screen asking for the password never displays. What am I doing wrong?

    With an E1500 and the guest account enabled: when guest (using MAC) connects to the Guest account, no login screen pops up after opening Safari. There is a message of "can't  access server" (or something like that).
    Have checked the Guest account settings and they appear correct.
    The same MAC machine can access the secure account without a problem. Have also tried using an iTouch, same results.
    These device do get an IP address assigned (192.168.33.xx) but we do not see a DNS or GW assignment. I assume the DNS/GW addresses don't get assigned till the password is entered, correct?

  • Redirecting user to login page after session expiry

    Hi,
    Default session expiry implementation in sap EP6.0 doesn't work properly. To overcome this, we have implemented one component where we check the idle time and throw the user back to the login page if the idle time has exceeded the session expiry period. This component has been added to desktop inner page as an iView. Following is the logic put in this component.
    IAuthentication ia = UMFactory.getAuthenticator();
    ia.logout(httpRequest, httpResponse);
    httpResponse.sendRedirect("/irj/portal");
    We are successfully getting the login page after session expiry. Issue is, our portal server is running on 11111 port. We cannot change this to 80 on unix because of unix limitations for the port number. So we have put one apache web server before our portal server. Apache web server is listening on port 80 and forwarding the request to our portal server.
    Now when user is redirected to the login page, url being shown in the browser is http://<host_name>:11111/irj/portal but I am expecting http://<host_name>/irj/portal (without port). I have tried putting the full url in sendRedirect() method but that too doesn't work.
    Any help is highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Chandra

    Hi Chandra,
    Let the URL be relative in the sendRedirect i.e.
    httpResponse.sendRedirect("/irj/portal");
    However since you have a Reverse proxy in front, the response header for redirect will not contain the address of the reverse proxy in this case, your servername without port. You have to properly configure your reverse proxy so that the HTTP Headers are changed properly before sending the response to the users.
    Check this URL,
    http://httpd.apache.org/docs/1.3/mod/mod_proxy.html#proxypassreverse
    This gives you the details on configuring your apache.
    Hope this helps.

    P.S. If this helps please reward points.

  • How to get the Trusted Identity Login Page with the needed parameters to make custom login screen instead of sharepoint Login Page?

    hi guys
    i have configured trusted identity provider for my public facing internet portal, but i dont want to use the login screen
    since i have about 10 site collection which will use this authentication.
    is there a class or property that gives me the url ready with the parameters like "wa" and "wtrealm" and the redirect url based on the place the user click the link from.

    You can create your own login page and specify the URL for it in the authentication provider settings of a Web Application or Zone.  So the easiest way to do what you want would be to extend your existing Web Application to a new Zone, change the login
    Page url to point to use your custom zone, and tell users to use the url of that zone to login with the custom provider you have built.
    If you want a single zone then you will need to modify a copy of the login page you display above and have it redirect to a custom login page for your identity provider if the pick the correct entry in the dropdown.

  • HT3867 My iPhone won't display the login page for public wireless hotspots

    My iPhone 4S does not load the login pages of public wifi hotspots. It has not always done this for I cn remember a using it afew times. Help please before I break this phone lol

    One possibility is that you have specified DNS servers in your Network preferences. (Network Preferences  -> Advanced -> DNS, see if anything is specified.) If so, you want to create a new network location which doesn't have any DNS servers defined. (Network Preferences  -> Location -> Edit Locations.)  Create a new one (click the + sign), and use that  location when logging on to public WiFi hotspots.
    The other (and worse) problem might be a security feature added to OS 10.7.2 and higher versions.
    Apple found out that a hacker could fool you into accepting a bogus "update" via a fake Software Update pop-up.  The fix was to rig the OS so that, when you connect to a wifi network, a Mac running the new and improved OS will silently "phone home" to an IP address at apple.com, and inquire about the hotspot's certificate. If it fails to get back a message declaring the hotspot's certificate to be valid, it assumes that the hotspot login popup is fake, and won't let you proceed.  The permanent solution is for the hotspot's "captive portal system" to allow Macs to connect to the Apple host, so that the OS can do the verification.  Most public WiFi systems have made the adjustment, but there are quite a few (including many schools) who are behind the curve.  If this is your issue, tell whoever runs the network to get with the program!
    While waiting for that to happen, you can always copy the login page url from a PC (or older Mac OS) that is able to access the hotspot, paste it into your address bar, and take it from there.  (Truncate the url at the first question mark . . . the ? and all the junk that comes after it are likely to be specific to the machine you copied it from.  You'll see a fresh bunch of junk materialize, as the site talks to your Mac.)

  • How to prevent login page in same browser when user is already authenticated

    Hello,
    I am using Jdev 11.1.1.6 with ADF security implemented in my application.
    I have Login.jspx that redirects the user to Home.jspx on successful authentication. User can either enter Login or Home Page URL.
    Please consider following scenarios:
    a) User is not authenticated in current browser session
      a.1) if user enters Home page URL then Login page is displayed and redirected to Home page on authentication
      a.2) if user enters Login page URL then Login page is displayed and redirected to Home page on authentication
    b) User is already authenticated in current browser session, a new tab is opened and
      b.1) if user enters Home page URL then it directly shows Home page (already authenticated)
      b.2) if user enters Login page URL then Login page is displayed -- this is the issue, it should either directly take user to Home page or invalidate the existing session and let user proceed with new.
    How do I achieve this? Any help is highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jai

    Thanks Frank and everyone for your help.
    I am able to achieve what Frank suggested using phase listener. We don't have a custom phase listener but I created one and instead of configuring at global level, just defined the ControllerClass in the pageDef of my login page.
    Code from afterPhase is:
        public void afterPhase(PagePhaseEvent pagePhaseEvent) {
            if (pagePhaseEvent.getPhaseId() == Lifecycle.INIT_CONTEXT_ID) {
                FacesContext fctx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
                String viewRootId = fctx.getViewRoot().getViewId();
                if ("/pages/login.jspx".equalsIgnoreCase(viewRootId) &&
                    ADFContext.getCurrent().getSecurityContext().isAuthenticated()) {
                    try {
                        String homeViewId = "pages/home.jspx";
                        ControllerContext controllerCtx = null;
                        controllerCtx = ControllerContext.getInstance();
                        String activityURL =
                            controllerCtx.getGlobalViewActivityURL(homeViewId);
                        fctx.getExternalContext().redirect(activityURL);
                    } catch (IOException ioe) {
                        _logger.logException(ioe);
    My only concern here is that I am hardcoding the login and home page url. Is there a better way to implement this?
    Thanks,
    Jai

  • Set Portal Page URL in Web Dynpro IFrame

    Hi All,
    I've a Web Dynpro application that runs in the portal.
    The application creates iframes dynamically.
    I want to set in the iframes portal pages.
    In order to get the page's url, I go to content admin, navigate to the page and then press the 'preview' button then I copy the url from the browser's address bar.
    I copy the url from the '/irj....' to the src property of the IFrame UI element.
    So the source property looks something like this:
    /irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.mycomp.Omri!2fcom.mycomp.TestPage
    When I run the project I get:
    <i>Portal Runtime Error
    An exception occurred while processing a request for :
    iView : N/A
    Component Name : N/A
    Access denied (Object: portal_content/.../...).
    Exception id: 06:01_17/10/06_0015_4401150
    See the details for the exception ID in the log file</i>
    The page's permissions are set to everyone so I don't know why do I get this error.
    So, how do I set portal page url in Web Dynpro IFrame?
    p.s
    I tried to use NavigatinTarget in the URL and it works. The problem is that the TLN is included. I want to display only the page.
    Thanks,
    Omri

    Hi Valery,
    I have only one domain...
    I searched SDN and I found this post:
    /message/1259616#1259616 [original link is broken]
    Daniel Wroblewski from SAP says:
    <i>This, naturally, sounds like a permission issue. Two steps:
    You must give the Everyone group end-user permission to the iView. This will eliminate the error and cause a login screen to display.
    If you want to eliminate the login screen, you must set the iView property Authentication Scheme to anonymous.</i>
    I will try it tomorrow in the Office.

  • I can't open my work web site it lets me go right to the login page and won't open how can I fix this

    I can't open my work web site it let's me go to the login page then it won't go any further how do I fix this

    To see whether this problem is caused by the new HTML5 parser feature in Firefox 4, you can turn it off like this:
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the filter box, type or paste '''html5''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Double-click '''html5.parser.enable''' to toggle it to false (it will turn bold).
    Then return to your work site and reload the page.
    Does that make any difference? If so, you can leave it that way. If not, you might as well switch it back (double-click that preference again to toggle it back to true.)
    If not, and you need to roll back, here's the process:
    First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
    Next, download and save Firefox 3.6 to your desktop for future installation. http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older
    Close Firefox 4.
    You could install Firefox 3.6 over it (many have reported success) or you could uninstall Firefox first. If you uninstall, do not remove your personal data and settings, just the program.
    Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, Firefox 3.6 should pick up where you left off. If there are serious issues, please post back with details.
    Note: I haven't actually tried this myself!

  • Cannot connect to web auth login page

    Controller is vWLC 7.4, AP is 2600. Browser gets successfully redirected to 1.1.1.1, so DNS appears to work. However 1.1.1.1 does not respond. Wireshark in the client shows SYN frames but no response. I tried various debugs but nothing is shown on the WLC when the client attempts to reach the login page. 1.1.1.1 is not used in the local network and ends up at the default route. WLAN operates in central mode.
    The browser works when web auth is disabled, but when enabled in either "authentication" or "passthrough" mode any attempts gets redirected to 1.1.1.1 and times out at that point. Telnet to 1.1.1.1:443 failed also.
    Same on two different clients using different OS versions.

    I've tested it in two very different production VLANs having different DHCP servers. Any client connected to those VLANs, whether by Wifi or Ethernet, gets an IP address and can work normally. The Wifi client also works fine when L3 web policy is disabled. A client connected via AP successfully gets an IP address in any case. DNS resolution has been verified and the redirection to 1.1.1.1 also works. It's just the connection to 1.1.1.1 which fails, everything else up to this point appears to work.
    BTW: Is there a way to test the availability of the authentication web server on the WLC, locally? I can ping 1.1.1.1 successfully, but this only verifies the interface, not the web server. Normally I'd try a telnet to 1.1.1.1:443, but did not find anything similar on the WLC.

    If you are using Portal (not Framework), the below tag will do the trick
